We had a wonderful stay at Trimstone Manor, our family didn't want to leave after our 4 night stay. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the cottage has everything you need. Would definitely return in the future.

Called to make a booking in restaurant. Owner said to make our way over. Arrived within 15 minutes to be told quite curtly that the kitchen was closing and he should not have told us to come. Very rude and unpleasant welcome by who I presume was the Manageress. Living close to Ilfracombe I will never recommend this to family or friends.

Okay rooms, set in a quiet back road 10 minutes drive from Woolacoombe beach. We booked on short notice so were happy to find something near the beach in summer, but it wasn't a very comfortable stay. We found the bed and bedding uncomfortable, and the room generally looked a bit run down. All in all all it was functional, but not a stay I'd choose again.

Never got there. The 1 mile approach road is VERY narrow, unfortunately the overgrown and uncut hedges either side scratched my medium sized car (scenic) both sides at the same time the entire distance. Check with hotel/restaurant to see if hedges cut before booking. I never complain and am used to narrow Devon lanes, this overgrown one is beyond the pale.

From the moment you drive down the narrow lane to walking in to the reception you think you are in an 80's horror film set. Our room in the main house looked dated and with the sound of the turkeys and peacocks outside it seemed we were in for a quirky weekend. That said, I had the best nights sleep in what I thought was going to be an uncomfortable bed, service and breakfast was excellent and by the time we left actually liked the quirkiness of the place. Give this place a chance and you will enjoy it. We did.

I cannot remember the last time I felt so relaxed! Staff are so friendly, breakfast was delicious and the grounds/views are breathtaking! Loved hearing the peacock, cockerel and emus! Thank you so much, we were really needing this break and it was more than we imagined. Also it was so luxurious having the swimming pool available to us until late, we had it all to ourselves! Bliss!

We spent 3 days at Trimstone over the school holidays. The owners and the Manager could of not treated us better. They were so nice and did everything to make sure we were happy. Breakfast was out of this world. My two young boys had an amazing time. The indoor pool is a must. We spent most evenings in the warm pool. This place is historic and set in some really beautiful countryside. A big thanks for being so friendly.
