The Bath House Hotel in Ilfracombe, North Devon, has 22 en-suite bedrooms and is ideally situated opposite the Tunnels beaches, close to the High Street and just a few minutes walk from the harbour. The Bath House Hotel has a large fully licensed bar, lounge and restaurant. One of a few hotels in Ilfracombe that has such excellent facilities, so if you feel like a work out, or simply want to sweat it out in the sauna, the fully fitted gymnasium, solarium, steam and power showers are all available free of charge when staying at the hotel.

Room was dirty, floor not hoovered, soap wrapping on floor in bathroom. Bath Spa didn't work. Hairs coming out of Bath overflow. Hotel advertised sauna and gym, however not in use on arrival. Masks had to be worn everywhere. Staff not friendly especially Malcom. Seagulls constantly squawking, if they didn't keep you awake the people who were returning from the town will.
Also seagull droppings all over the car. Carpark only fitted 3 cars for the guests, failure to get a spot will cost over 10.00 a day in the Carpark next door. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Dissapointed is an understatement

Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. Location near the tunnels was excellent, but really that's where the positives end. We stayed in a family room on the 2nd floor, the windows didn't even lock. Shower was a trickle and we had pipe honking noise in our room whenever any other guests had a shower. We could hear every footstep from the guests above and parking was very limited.
Furniture looked like it had come from an old school boarding house and the lock on the door looked flimsy to say the least. TV was tiny in relation to the room. No disabled access. Mainly 3 stars because these issues aren't reflected in the price.

First impression on arrival looking at the exterior which was quite shabby wasn't great, it was better inside however and we decided to stay. Malcolm gave us a friendly greeting and was helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, but sadly the hotel lacked atmosphere and we didn't use the bar area because of this.

If you are disabled, but don't look disabled, then don't bother. If you drive, but want to park your in the same postcode, don't stay here. We complained and were thrown out. If Malcolm likes you he will reserve spaces etc but if not then your stay is likely to be miserable. Hotel is old and tired but the bar area is nice. Food was acceptable although unremarkable.
