We have nine guest bedrooms at The Collingdale Guest House in Ilfracombe, Devon, six of which have stunning views over the harbour and the Nature Reserve at Ilfracombe, with three overlooking the front of the house and the wooded area beyond. Our superior balcony view rooms are very popular, as you can sit outside with your morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening and watch the comings and goings in the harbour.
Ilfracombe really is the food-capital of North Devon with a number of fine-dining restaurants, bistros, cafe bars and tea rooms, many of which have alfresco dining giving it a Continental feel. We have an excellent selection of fine-dining restaurants and trendy cafe bars within just a few minutes walk from The Collingdale; serving everything from freshly caught fish and seafood, meat supplied from local farmers with traditional English dishes, Spanish tapas, Italian, Chinese or Indian and good old-fashioned Fish & Chips.
A week of events. My partner and I had a fantastic week long stay. Sharon and Daryl were so welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout. Sharon knows the area very well and gave great recommendations for places and restaurants to visit which made our trip even more enjoyable. The guest house itself is spotless and so well cared for.
There are approximately 40 on street parking spaces along Larkstone Terrace, Hillsborough Road directly at the front of The Collingdale, these are free of charge with no time limits, we also have the benefit of two longstay car parks. If you are travelling to us from outside of the UK or require directions from an airport simply enter the city or airport name instead of a postcode.

Just come back from a lovely 3 day break. Sharon and daryl are the perfect hosts, clean compact room, large bed which was extremely comfortable, absolutely amazing breakfast which sets you up for the rest of the day! Views over the harbour which are a bonus, short walk to the harbour. Will definitely vist again. A big THANK YOU. XX

Lovely aspect overlooking the harbour. Our room was tastefully decorated with a great, big, comfy bed. Although there is no onsite parking, there is a car park less than five minutes walk away, or you might be fortunate enough to park on the road outside - either way - its not an issue. The harbour is a five minute walk away, and the High Street, if you want to go out for the evening is only ten minutes away - but make sure that you leave room for the fantastic breakfast!

We stayed there for 6 nights, the second week after the hotel had reopened post lockdown. Apart from the face visors worn by staff and staggered breakfast times for guests, you would not have known that the hotel was just reopening after over 3 months closure. We know how much work went into making seamless transition. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, everything was well cooked!
The room was clean and comfortable. Sharon and Daryl were very friendly and so helpful with lots of suggestions about where we should visit and also maps and booklets which we borrowed for the duration of our stay. The location is also excellent just a few minutes from the harbour.

A bit late in writing a review as I thought I had already done it. Don't need to be a long review as Daryl and Sharon are fantastic hosts and most of all fantastic people. Very friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable, especially of the local area and what it has to offer. Rooms clean and bright, breakfast great, just good all round. In fact we enjoyed our stay so much we returned only six weeks later for another stay! Hope to see you all again.
