This is a hidden gem! The best location in York with a large number of top class eateries, pubs etc. within a couple of minutes walk and a few minutes walk to the Shambles and Minster. Greeted with a smile at the door and staff could not do enough for us. Beautiful elegantly decorated rooms and a cozy lounge with a log fire. On returning from an evening out we were greeted at the door and offered a pot of coffee in the lounge. Just these little touches that you dont get in a big hotel. Tasty breakfast again served with a smile. Could not fault this hotel and will definitely be returning.

Beautiful small boutique hotel with the best staff you could wish for, each and every one of them. Nothing too much trouble. Always smiling, helpful and prepared to go beyond their duties. Clean, smart and the small details which make the difference. fresh flowers around the building, breakfast cooked to order, excellent room attendance in that tea, milk, water, biscuits etc replenished every day. No bar but they will present with glassware, ice, ice buckets if you bring your own drinks. Lovely garden to sit in (weather permitting).

A totally wonderful experience. We had been told by our daughters how good The Parisi was and had also read the reviews but our three night stay was everything we could have expected plus some. Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff and everyone was so pleasant and more than willing to go the extra mile. Look forward to being back in the not to distant future.

The most friendly and caring staff I have EVER met! Everyone who worked there was so warm and welcoming, making us feel like the genuinely cared about giving us the best stay they could. They noticed that I was dairy free and tried to find oatmilk for me in three different supermarkets, which was incredibly sweet and generous! The rooms were also amazing and the beds extremely comfortable, the array of teas available was awesome and I loved the massive quirky cups!
I also loved that the hair care and soaps were all local and sustainable, small things like this show that they really take the environment into account. Definitely wanting to return!:

From the minute I booked it I had received an email asking me if I wanted to change deal and get a free breakfast for me and my partner both days we were there. I then received an email with information such as travel, parking and even their favourite places to eat in York. When we arrived they were nothing but helpful and friendly, showing us around, asking our plans and how the drive Was, showing us their personal preferences to eat on a map.
Even when we struggled a little with the car park there was an oncall phone number who happily assisted what we now know as us being a bit stupid! The library is the most cutest area ever and I could have happily spent the whole time just in that room. We went downstairs where we were offered complimentary drinks ans biscuits which we werent expecting but was very nice.
Due to a little leak in the breakfast room that tripped a switch in our room we were offered a free upgrade into a different room when the woman helped us move all our stuff across and the room itself was beautiful and the bed was huge! Come dinner time we didn't know what we wanted to eat and were given a lot of different suggestions including family favourites and places to avoid which was very much appreciated!
The breakfast was so cute and even if something wasn't on the menu they would happily make it if they could and were very attentive. Although they don't have an alcohol licence and we were told to bring our own they still had wine glasses and coolers which just shows how out of the way they will happily go to help people! Even after we had checked out they looked after our bags while we did our last few things in the city before going to get the car and bring it to the drive where the guy came out inviting us in for more coffee and had printed out directions for the maze which we had talked about during an earlier conversation which he really didn't have to do but really made us feel welcome even after they technically had to deal with us.
I can honestly say I felt so welcome and part of the family in this hotel and even my partner who had originally suggested we went to a travelodge admitted that I had made the right decision and although originally Dubois about going away spent the whole time asking where we are going next and trying to plan things which I believe is mostly to do with this amazing hotel. If I am to have a small wedding I know exactly where I want to get married and that's here!

A really delightful, friendly hotel We have just stayed stayed at the Parisi with some of our family during a weekend visit to York for a wedding. The hotel was very welcoming, friendly, cosy and with such lovely staff who all did their upmost to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. There are nice touches such as an extensive library available in the lounge, original paintings everywhere, fresh cold water and milk in the fridge, and a coffee machine as well as wide variety of teas in rooms. Breakfasts are great - such a wonderful selection and prepared by a really good cook. Highly recommended and ideally located for walking around the great city of York.

A truly lovely place, full of small but appreciated touches. The communal areas and our room were beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Nice lounge and garden to relax in. There were tea and coffee making facilities in our room with a good selection of drinks to chose from, and the delicious breakfast set us up perfectly for the day. The city centre is 5 minutes' walk or so away, and there's some independent shops, bars and restaurants just around the corner too.
They also have some of the best staff we have been lucky enough to encounter at a hotel - really friendly and helpful without being too formal or overbearing. Parking isn't on site (it's about a 5 minute drive), but you get vouchers to cover the cost (24 hours per night of your stay). It's not the cheapest play to stay in York but if you're looking to treat yourself then I doubt you could so much better. We'd not hesitate to return.

We spent one night at St Denys in April 2014 and loved it! The rooms were immaculate and obviously recently upgraded. Beautiful bathroom fixtures, large comfy bed, even an exceptional HD TV, and great WiFi. Breakfast was excellent, too. We were sorry we didn't have time to stay another night. Even the location was great; within walking distance of all the attractions we'd planned to visit.
