You might also be aware it contains a huge choice of accommodation, ranging from historic hotels to modern self-catering flats and even glamping pods.With 14 rooms in our main building, and a further eight rooms in our Mews development, you're spoilt for choice whether you are visiting the city for a peaceful, relaxing break; living it up at the restaurants, bars and theatres; or taking in all the historic sights and sounds (which are all within a short walk - indeed, you're only 100 yards from the city walls!).

Our friendly team will treat you as an individual, and go out of their way to meet your needs and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Lovely quiet room in the mews with blackout curtains, super friendly staff that resulted in a very relaxing stay. Would recommend for the location alone, we would stay here any time while in York.

Parking is available in the nearby public car parks - Bootham Row or Marygate (3-4 minutes walk away) - costing 8/day. Permits for this are available from our reception.

Excellent location, so easy to get into the centre in just a few minutes' walk. Warm welcome, very friendly staff. Quiet room away from the street was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise. Comfy beds, room size was fine. Decent breakfast, served with a smile. Would definitely stay here again on another trip to York, as would my mum who I travelled with on this occasion.

Just got back after a lovely couple of days at Georgian House York definitely would recommend, great hospitality, wonderful staff, nothing to much trouble. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast tasty and good choices. Great location and to top it off cream tea on arrival and a bottle of prosecco in our room.

The location was excellent, very close to the attractions we'd come to visit, especially the Minster and Yorkshire Museum. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our cakes in the afternoon were delicious as was the cooked breakfast the next morning. Our room was clean, comfortable and easily accessible for my mum who's a little infirm. The guesthouse is quaint and typically Georgian in style - I recently stayed in a similar small hotel in Liverpool and I love older properties and their uniqueness. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Great location. Clean, comfortable, quite room. With all you could need. Including hairdryer and ironing board. Lovely, helpful staff who definitely go the extra mile. Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. We also had a very nice cream tea when we arrived and a bottle of Prosecco in our room, both perfectly presented. I would recommend Georgian House and will definitely be going back.

I booked a 2 night stay off Travel Zoo for my parents wedding anniversary. The offer included breakfast, afternoon tea and a bottle of Prosecco. They both enjoyed their stay very much. Clean and comfortable rooms. Brilliant breakfast and a yummy afternoon tea, They wouldn't hesitate to stay again when visiting York

What lovely staff and B&B. From the time we arrived to the time we left they couldn't do enough for us. It was a surprise birthday present for me and 4 of us went there. Great breakfast in the morning lovely full English. Want to say thanks again to the owners and all the staff. We will definitely be going back again.
