Asked for our money back, we put our luggage in the room but the hotel not as described. Five flights of stairs before we got to our room. I have a hew hip, no way could I do that climb. The room was dark and very small and the floor tiles all cracked. The decor looked interesting and had amazing history but you also need the facilities to match. No restaurant, you have to cross the road to a sister hotel to have breakfast.
Breakfast had to be booked, option 8, 8.30 or 9 am, check out 10 am! Guy on reception wasn't bothered we wernt happy and arranged refund and much to our surprise, Booking.com gave us straight back.

Great relaxed stay. Fantastic Room had a great atmosphere. We stayed in the Kings room as was in Bourmouth for an evening event and loved it. The breakfast in the Sister hotel Next door was fantastic. In all a great experience I'm sure we will stay there again. Only thing I wish was we we had a little bit more time in the Room next time I would just stay in the hotel and relax for the evening is a fantastic place.

Beautiful location within a tree lined road. Good parking spaces located on two sites one being the sister hotel. The rooms are well designed and have a character charm from yester year. Inside the hotel has seating to enjoy the calm around the site.on a summers day have a seat in the garden. Breakfast is tasty and fulfilling and with a choice of cold or hot.all served in the sister hotel across the road located less than a minute away. The staff all welcoming for your stay and have been knowledgeable for what's in the area.would come and stay again longer in the future.

Beautiful hotel. Very quaint. Comfortable bed. Spacious. Unfortunately the armchairs could be revamped. They were uncomfortable. The spa bath not totally functional. This is the Alexander room. Receptionists & restaurant staff at the sister Hotel were very friendly, helpful & accommodating. Excellent breakfasts. Centrally Situated. Great place to stay for special occasions. I'd recommend it.

Very disappointed with our stay. We were in room 12 a junior suite. The room was pleasant enough, a good size although old which adds to its character. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable, the "quilt" no longer had padding in most of it, so we were cold as it was like sleeping under a sheet! The bathroom was old and dirty. Stains/mess in the toilet, mouldy grout around the bath and tiles, black mould around the bath taps, when using the jet function on the bath, the smell was awful, obviously not been cleaned in a while (we had to have a second bath without the spa).
All around the bottom of the basin was black, and the bathroom floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned and there was what looked like a blood stain on the floor! Wifi didn't work, and we had to ask for the password as we weren't given it on arrival. The gentleman on the desk didn't seem very happy and hardly said a word. I didn't feel confident enough to approach him with our concerns. (I had checked on the website and no other rooms were available so we wouldn't have been moved). Walking into the hotel it is beautiful and well kept, so expected the room to be in keeping with this. This was a one off valentines stay, it ruined our day and I feel very down about the whole thing!

We took advantage of the quiet new year period & booked the 'Kings room', the room was fantastic & the photographs do not capture the grandeur or the sheer size of the room. We then decided to stay another night, this time in 'Lillie's room', the room was very well presented & the showpiece bath in the corner of the room is fantastic. Overall, our experience was very good, only let down by our host, who wasn't very welcoming & seemed very 'bored' but pleasant enough nonetheless.
On another note, we found the Hotel to be extremely warm, we had to sleep with balcony doors & windows open through the night, not the end of the world or a deal-breaker. We enjoyed our stay, the Hotel is clean, steeped in history & a worthy visit, the price was fantastic and we will most definitely be looking to book in the future.
