Fairway Hotel

Great room, couple issues being on ground floor, had to keep curtains closed as room was right next to staff entrance so people smoking and walking past regularly, also could not leave windows open as there was no way to lock them so someone could climb in. Food was absolutely amazing could not fault waiting on staff.

Nice looking place. staff ok but had to go find them twice. dirty spoon on table. ordered prawn cocktail. was just half an iceberg lettuce and a bag of prawns tipped over. hardly any sauce and the spread on the brown bread was cheap margarine. then a steak that was mostly inedible fat and gristle.no offer of sauces and the peppercorn sauce thin and watery from a packet mix. the salad and mushrooms were delicious. use that salad for your prawn cocktail.!

17 of us came a meal for my husbands 60th birthday. Food and service was excellent. Staff couldn't do enough for us. So thank you for making our night so special.

Had a lovely stay. Nice relaxing bar. Ate in restaurant - we all enjoyed our food. Service good and staff helpful. My main grump would be that there was no heating on during the day and it was quite chilly around the bar. We went to bed and the heating had gone on - way too warm and had to open windows as far as possible! I would stay again.

Lovely hotel really nice rooms, only thing for me was the TV was so small might have been a 15/20 ich flat screen from year 2000 It was like watching from my laptop across the room with only a few channels available on standard TV recommend bringing a fire stick like we did Internet was good with no buffering or issues friendly staff Over all enjoyed our short stay

The room was clean and comfortable very nice. The staff there where ok. The hotel it self is really nice. Only down was the food but not everyone will like everything. Over all great place

Absolutely loved it. Room was very nice. Very clean and comfortable and good bathroom. Food was fantastic. Was new food menu night when we stayed, had salmon which was excellent and very high standard and banana stick toffee pudding was delicious Lady in charge was lovely and very helpful. All the staff were great, service was excellent. Thank you

Fantastic stay at the Dunes Hotel last week with our young kids. The park at the hotel kept the 3 year old occupied and plenty to see in the local area. highly recommend the Zoo only 10 minutes from the hotel and a couple of soft play areas nearby as well. Staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay and the food was amazing. Particularly enjoyed the rib eye with my wife opting for the duck twice! We highly recommend this hotel.

Nice place, enjoyable stay. Just found service at the restaurant was difficult to get someone's attention. Have starter and mains. Shame we couldn't get deserts, moved on to the bar as one guy was running around headless while the rest entertained a group of people they must have known.

Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Friendly welcome on reception and customer service from the manageress was great, a nice change from a soul less corporate chain hotel. The food in the restaurant was 1st class and breakfast was hearty. Again service from the guys in the bar was very good.

Beautiful hotel, tastefully decorated, food was excellent. only one negative was no toilet paper in the room or hand towels when checked in, apart from that had a great break

Do not book this hotel! 1st night waited 30 minutes for a menu despite 3 requests. Next morning waited 20 minutes for bacon, sausages, mushrooms etc to be delivered to self service counter. No coffee til we requested it. Then at 3 in afternoon we were told the restaurant would be closed for next 2 nights! Appalling! We checked out after being reassured we would get a refund on Travelzoo voucher. They won't refund it! DO NOT STAY HERE

Had a great night, very clean room But, as I was checking out before even asking if I was exempt I had a guest and the lady behind the counter at reception basically gang up on me for not wearing a mask This is not what you want first thing in the morning Managed to contain myself and keep a smile on my face somehow

Only stayed for one night but we had a lovely time. All staff were very friendly the hotel was well presented and clean I slept very well. Good quality food and excellent cocktails.

Nice place to stay for two nights. Food service a little slow. Staff all young and some clearly lack experience in the restaurant/ bar area. We had a nice room which met our needs interns of comfort and space. Friendly front of house staff

Stayed two nights in the downstairs rooms, my room was large with ensuite I had a good view from my side. Breakfast was good, whilst you wait for a cooked meal which was great you can help yourself to coffee, tea etc, toast cereal, fruit, yogurt. I was there for a wedding and the meals were really nice for that. Outside was like being abroad, felt like you were on holiday, probably the weather helped as it was gorgeous.

Staff helpful. From the car park it is a bit of a walk with luggage, but you can drive straight up to the entrances and leave your luggage with the staff and return your car to t he car park. Not a long walk normally but if you have a couple of suitcases to carry it does seem longer.

Just spent 3 nights there. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful Breakfast was excellent and whilst the Dinner menu was small the food was beautifully cooked and presented. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

This was our second stay in this lovely hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful, the views from the conservatory dinning room are excellent. Ideal place for a quiet break in close proximity to Lake District attractions. Highly recommended.

Been a couple of times and sat outside, it's always scruffy on the outside and never swept properly, the girls who served us was lovey but a touch untrained from the kitchen of what's on the menu etc. Ordered a steak sandwich with caramelized onions and mushrooms but came without any mushrooms in the sandwich, waitress passed the message on didn't here anything else about it, (kitchens responsibly to tell staff), I had the brie and bacon with cranberry which was lovely.

So I'll cut to the chase: Thought the lunchtime menu was lazy, the outside should be tidy and clean, the serving staff was very nice. We would go again but not our first choice, the outlook is really good, feel whoever runs it needs to step up, especially with the present situation. Sorry if this seams harsh but if no one tells you you will never know, I presently own a hotel so have the experience to comment. P.s the time before we went the outside was even worse but the food was very nice.

Given a fab room when staying here as a family, (suite and amazing bathroom!) Think it may have been the bridal suite but definitely not complaining. Great playground to keep the kids entertained. Service a bit slow in the evening, but food was good quality with huge portions!
