Was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Excellent price for the value. Clean new rooms, big for the typical London room. Full amenities, laundry gym espresso machine in room. Fantastic view of skyline on upper floors including the Shard. This hotel is near Waterloo Station and walking distance to bridge to Big Ben. Will definitely stay here again. This is considered the South Bank area of the city.

All it takes is one bad encounter for me to give an otherwise good establishment a bad review. They treated us like vagrants even though we were guests at the hotel. My girlfriend and I are from America (California). My girlfriend was going to take the bus to see the Tate museum, but saw that the bus fare was a minimum of TEN pounds to get there from this hotel in Waterloo, so rather than take an uber expensive bus ride, she decided to call me from the hotel lobby and have me get an actual Uber ride for her.
No problem. I composed myself in the room and then went downstairs to meet her and order her a car for her to get to the Tate. Upon meeting her down at the lobby, some woman with a fake smile walks up to us and asks if we need any help. Now, keep in mind, It's past noon and I'm still dressed in formal attire from a wedding we recently attended in Scotland. Lobby Woman: "Do you need any help?" Me: "Umm, no. We're fine." Woman: "Are you staying at the hotel?" Me (Feeling confused and insulted by the question): "Yes, we are." Gestapo Woman: "What room number?" Why is she asking for the room number?!? Me: (I say room number), then Gestapo Woman goes to look it up on her computer and then leaves us alone.
I turn to my girlfriend and say. "That was weird. and stupid. I bet she's never stayed here in her life, and yet I'm paying all of these pounds per night to get treated like this by some idiot that can't even afford to stay here?!?" I'm not ever staying here again, and that stupid squatsnorgle that's half my age should be fired as soon as possible.

I booked a room for one week and I just extended one more week. They're policies cleaning is to clean the room once in a week but they didn't come att all in the first week. I hovered myself a few times and today when I asked if tomorrow I can have the room to be cleaned the answer was "you need to be booked for cleaning ". I pay a lot of money to get this type of service? Is not good service at all. They want only the money and no customer service. Not good experience with them.

Place was falling apart. Washing machine did not work. Toilet barely flushes. Internet was dropping out late at night constantly(if you do a speed test at night vs the day they are clearly throttling your speed to save money) and the fridge was turning off randomly. They will try to gouge you 25 to have your room made per time. Earliest checkout time at a hotel and no wiggle room on it at all.
Most places will give you some time. But here they want you to checkout late to make the 30 for 1 hour. Half of the rooms on level 1 overlook the carpark so if you have your blinds and windows open people can just stare freely into your rooms so their is no sense of privacy. Do yourself a favour and do not stay here ever.

Stayed here for my birthday weekend - the one bedroom apartment is a bit smaller than advertised and please note the bedroom doesn't have a door so if you have anyone sleeping on the sofa bed you will be able to hear them. If you would like a peaceful sleep request an apartment facing away from the train tracks as they are very noisy. The bed was very comfortable and the place was very clean. Only downside is the 200 deposit which wasn't expected and you have to pay an extra 20 to park your car in their car park (ridiculous!) so a lot of added costs

Great location from the underground and short walk to waterfront and Waterloo station. Front desk staff not very warm or friendly. Barely a greeting when coming or going. Our room had no dresser or luggage rack. There was a constant whistling noise coming from our bathroom vent. Operating the stove required a manual. The air constantly shuts off. Major plus: hotel provides a loaner phone, however the hot spot never worked. The hotel laundry was free but the machines are always full, slow and took over 3 hours to finish.

A otherwise lovely hotel where, if the weather is warm or hot, your sleep will be interrupted in the dark of each and every night when you wake up in a hot sweat. Why, you ask? Because their "environmentally friendly" air-conditioning will shut off in the middle of EVERY night and there's not a damned thing the hotel can, or will, do to prevent it. Hotels require a few basic must-haves. Safety. Cleanliness. Electricity.
Hot water. Temperature control. These things aren't optional, they're requirements. I'm all for saving the environment. And one can be environmentally friendly without forcing all of one's hotel guests to wake up every night, get out of bed, and re-set their rooms' thermostats. Unless your management is clueless or uncaring or both, I guess.
For a couple of nights, after my repeated queries at the front desk (which attracted other guests randomly passing by to join me in asking WTF on the same topic), the hotel said that they would have their overnight maintenance staff manually re-activate the AC in the room(s) in the middle of the night when it automatically shuts off. This did no good. since, when reactivated, the comfortable sleeping temperature I had set, RE-SET itself to a higher, uncomfortable, temperature.
So for the duration of my stay, I knew as regular as clockwork, I would be awakened mid-slumber to get out of bed, walk over to the thermostat, and re-set it. Stay elsewhere in summer.

The hotel itself was nice BUT we had 150 euros stolen from our room. We told the hotel manager filed a police claim and still nothing. The hotel should have at the very least comp'd us a night offered a meal.something! The manager checked the door room log and it showed a maid had entered but did not log it in. Our room was clean, left towels, emptied trash etc., but "claimed" she was not there. I would not recommend this place because not only is your stuff not safe the staff will do nothing about it

While looking for a place south of the river I wanted a hotel that was close to a park with a playground, Marlin Waterloo was perfect for our needs. It was my husband and our 2 year old. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which had a small kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge and a 2 burner stove. The Nespresso coffee maker and the tea kettles were extremely useful throughout the week.
The housekeeping was very thoughtful and took care of our messy needs everyday. The hotel has a bar which was nice because my husband or I could easily go downstairs and grab a drink at the end of the night. There are a bunch of very nice small mom and pop eateries in walking distance. The WiFi was strong and reliable. They have complimentary washing machines and dryers which was so helpful.
I believe there were 3 washers and dryers. I ended up doing the laundry either really early or really late and never had an issue of not having one readily available. I brought my own Tide pods and dryer sheets. You can walk to Archbishop park and playground which is literally around the corner from the hotel. We walked over every morning so that my son can get his energy out before we started our day of sightseeing.
It was so nice to meet locals and let my toddler make some international friends. All the parents we met were very sweet and friendly, they ended up giving us so many tips and places to go with a kid. The hotel staff was very accommodating and had a nice pack n play in the room when we checked in. It's a very convenient place if you wanna stay in the South bank area.

This hotel was probably the least memorable of the 5 we stayed at in England for our holiday. It was very efficient, clean, and had a great location. You can see the London Eye from the hotel entrance. Our room had a small kitchen which had everything you could need for a short stay, utensil-wise. Even a dishwasher! Wifi is not great. I tried on both my laptop and phone, it didn't work until several hours later on my phone.
When we were checking in we heard another guest discussing this. We arrived early, around 11, and our room wasn't ready, of course. This is fine but we had to traipse our luggage downstairs to the storage area, in addition to going down when we came back to get it. It's certainly secure as you get to see your luggage in the storage room when you drop it off! Getting a taxi from the hotel was not as easy as I expected, but we did find one after about 5 minutes

There are, I am sure, many jewels of lodging in London and this is one of them. The hotel is located in a prime area minutes away from the bridge, London eye, Borough market etc and underground station. Buses stop right in front and serve the key touristic areas of London. Although on a relatively busy streets (which part of London isn't?!) the sound proofing is excellent and there is no outside noise reaching you.
The hotel is very well kept and the staff, mostly young personnel, are friendly. It is very clean and literally smells of baby soap :) The room with Kitchenette is a bit small but well equipped and serves its purpose. the double beds are roomy enough for parents and one small child. Sofa bed is very comfortable. Modernized rooms where everything works with your card key.
There is a coffee shop, pub, convenient store, souvenir shops and eateries on left and right hand sides. Laundry on site is free but have to buy your own detergent or get it from machine. They have a cool bar, a fitness room, 24 hr front desk, free WiFi and free luggage storage but no bell captain, room service or eatery on site. I read in the reviews about the housekeeping.
We didn't have any problem. They do daily cleaning and towel service. Price is fair compared to less touristic areas in the US. We booked directly through Marlin's website where the price was "lower" than hotels.com! Totally recommend the place and will be back!

Got a great deal on my flight to London thanks to Google Flights ($1459 for a family of 4)! Next task was finding a hotel. Now, I normally use Hotels.com for my accommodation needs (I think I'm probably the only person who doesn't like using AirBNB). All the trips we have booked over the years, this one was probably the hardest. First off, London is expensive.
If you're going to find a half-way decent place to stay, you're going to pay a pretty penny. I like the Marriott brand, which is who I usually try to pick, however, the ones I looked at didn't have any WiFi in the room. Only Free Wifi in the lobby. Boo that! On the day I was going to book one, Marlin Waterloo magically popped up into my search.
When I look for hotels, I do my due diligence. I read a ton of reviews (from multiple websites), compare pricing, and look what's around. Everything seemed to look good. The price was about $175 a night. Not bad. But, what really pulled me in was that it was close to a few of our planned destinations like London Eye, Westminster Abbey, and Big Ben (which unfortunately, was under renovation).
I have 2 little girls (5 and 11) and they easily hoofed it over there and the surrounding areas. Speaking of surrounding areas, there are a few grocery shops within walking distance (Tesco Express, Sainsbury, and Costcutter), a Costa Coffee, a Pret-A-Manger, and a pretty decent peri-peri chicken restaurant all right downstairs. Wait, it gets even better, the Lambeth North station is only a few yards away.
It makes it super easy to take the tube to get around London. Now, as for the room, it was actually not too bad. It had a Queen bed (or maybe it was a double. I can never tell) and a sofa bed to fit all 4 of us. I gave my wife and girls the Queen bed and I slept on the sofa bed. As with most sofa beds, this one was not easy on my back. But, it did the trick.
The bathroom was clean, but I'm still wondering why some hotels don't put a door in the actual shower. There is a glass there, but no glass for the back part of the shower where a door normally would be. I had this in Amsterdam, as well. Is that a European hotel thing? Anyway, the room also had a fridge (in where they included water at no charge), a coffee maker, a safe, and of course a TV. But, the best part of any hotel is how well the blackout shade works.
Put in this way, we slept until 11 or 12 most days. For a guy who wakes up at the slightest bit of light, this was awesome! With the little, minor hiccups, I would still rate this place 5 stars. The location and price was perfect.

Walk-ably close to London Eye, Big Ben & Westminster Abbey. Also, close to Westminster Pier (by the Eye) where you can catch a Thames river cruise ride. Tube station Lambeth North is just around the corner and Waterloo in opposite direction. Waterloo is a major station with access to many Lines (was once the International station). Room was smaller than I had anticipated but still comfy, clean and cosy!
No microwave tho, but instead have a convection oven. Also, although it's great they have a Bar, sadly no in-house restaurant to feed the hungry and weary. No worries tho as there are cafes, bakeries and restaurants in any direction you decide to walk. And mini grocery store just a few steps away. Pret a Manger is also steps away serving ready made sandwiches and coffee (if you order coffee and ask for cream, they just look at you funny so just say "with milk").
So now the minor nuances: some how blew a fuse and the outlets no longer worked. So front desk sent up a "maintenance" person who just pressed the reset button and demonstrated the electric oven works then walked out (with attitude!). Unfortunately, that did not fix the outlet problem. Front Desk then said they would send in maintenance next morning to fix (which they did).

I visited my friend who is staying there for a week. He stays in an apartment which has a bedroom, living area with kitchen and spacious bathroom with bath. The apartment was on the ground floor, therefore it had access to a back garden. I am a smoker and thought that's very convenient because I could just go quickly outside and have a cigarette instead of leaving the entire building.
In good weather you can just keep the sliding doors open or sit outside. You have there everything you need, including hair dryer, iron with ironing board, and even cleaning supplies. It's situated a bit on the back road, but very short walk to the bus stops and the tube. Very good location although not on the main street. I would say much better than renting just a small hotel room. Worth to check the prices here before you book any other hotel in this area.

Loved this place! The staff was friendly and the whole hotel was extremely nice. We had a great view, sink, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, and microwave. My friends and I were given complimentary drinks at the hotel bar and the room came with a cell phone that you could use to search for places to go. The room also came with Loccitane toiletries!
They also had Loccitane handsoap and lotion in the lobby bathrooms. The hotel was located next to a lot of affordable places to eat. Pret A Manger was next door and is now my new favorite place to eat in London for a quick bite. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel twice during my visit to London. My first stay was for 1 night and then I came back for another 2 night stay. I was very pleased each time! The rooms are very spacious and clean. The front desk agents are also very knowledgeable and kind. The location is perfect! It's within walking distance to the London Eye and also very close to a tube station. It was so easy for me to get around everywhere. I would definitely stay here again!

It's was an alright experience. Stayed with a friend for the weekend. The apartments have everything you need but are not sound proof. An ideal place to crash if you have a busy weekend of parties/going out out. I would recommend getting 2 nights if you're not a "checkout at 10.30 after a big night" kind of person.

Marlin Waterloo is apartment hotel nearby Lambeth North tube station. It's pretty new hotel in Waterloo and room quite spacious. It's good for tourist or family to stay coz only 10 mins walk to London eye. The front desk staffs were friendly and helpful. However, the poor housekeeping made us quite upset. I put the bath towel on the floor, it didn't get change and hang it back in the bathroom. For North American, we found so weird of hinged bathtub door. We had to be so cautious and made sure the water not running out in the bathroom when we showered.

Just had two nights here. The apartment was very convenient and close to the Westfield shopping centre and the Olympic Park. Good and quick access to central London. Secure parking. The staff were brilliant - really helpful, friendly and willing to assist in any way that they could. Would have had 5 stars had the room been cleaned to a higher standard. Would thoroughly recommend it for a short stay.
