The Royal Oak Hotel is a picturesque building, which was once a coaching inn. Our luxurious rooms are in keeping with the victorian arcitecture but with a contemporary feel. With a great choice for eating places within the hotel and the Stables Bar in the courtyard plus our leisure spa situated at our sister hotel is but a five minute walk away, we've got everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Great location and great food. Dogs always welcome, food and drinks served promptly and politely. We had the beef and ale pie and buttermilk chicken burger. (See pic) Both thoroughly enjoyed. Chipotle sauce with the burger was A1 as was the gravy for the pie. Only think that might put you off is the queue to get a table. Always seems long but really goes down quickly. We'll worth the wait in our opinion.

Location is fantastic for access to north Wales, walking or by car. Very busy and designer shops throughout the village. Felt a little impersonal, the bag of room items left outside your room every day. After saying this it's a big hotel trying to keep costs down. Clean rooms and lots of positive points, such as a good breakfast to start your day.

Visited with my partner. The menu looked really good. The prices were fairly expensive but we wanted a good meal so we decided that for a good meal the prices were worth it. Waitress staff were great, drinks were very nice. Then it went downhill very quickly. The food is awful. I had the mountain lamb with dauphinoise potatoes. The lamb was over cooked and the potatoes were nothing short of disgusting, when I showed the waitress she agreed it was not right and was happy to get me a replacement potatoes but when they arrived they were exactly the same, they had a thick dry skin on top like they had been prepared several days in advance and the taste was disgusting.
I was offered a 25% discount from my meal. I politely declined this measly offer as at 22.50 for my my dish I felt that it should be a lot better quality. The manager eventually arrived at the table and explained that the potatoes were only a small part of the meal. My answer was that it was half the meal as I only had meat and veg left on the plate.
So I only paid half price. I would like to point out that the waitress who was serving, handled the situation very well and I gave her the difference of the meal as a tip. The chef and the manager at this establishment should be ashamed of themselves.

Came for food and went away massively disappointed. The service was slow but as we were not in a hurry that was not too much of a problem. However perhaps the waiting staff should circulate amongst the customers more. The food was not the best either. Their special of pie and pickles was very disappointing. Very surprised that you can actually cut a dinky pie into 4 but they managed it.
Glad I'd ordered some fries to go with it. To be fair the steak sandwich was nice but the fries were cold. The sticky toffee pudding was excellent but at 7.50 I think it was massively overpriced. All in all very disappointed and as a relative regular I will not be going again for a while. Whilst I understand that prices are rising I left thinking that meal was not worth the price we paid.
