As a group of four tired walkers we were looking forward to a relaxing drink at the bar to this hotel. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked into the premises, we were swiftly followed into the bar by the manager and told that he would only serve us one drink. Despite the bar being open for another three hours, he told us that we were only entitled to one serving.
His explanation was that we had not been in all night and were therefore only allowed drinks on his terms. The local drinkers also expressed their concerns at his strange decision but he talked over them and allowed us to leave. I wouldn't bother spending your money in this bar. There's a much cheaper pub with a better atmosphere just down the road without an unwelcome manager.

This hotel is very basic, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. However the bar and restaurant is a busy and atmospheric place serving good food and drink. The place is friendly and welcoming. Would recomend this hotel for walkers who would like one nights stay at cheap prices but this is not one for the romatic weekends away.
