Danesfield House Hotel

Excellent 2 night stay at Danesfield House. Lovely staff and very helpful. Room was very spacious and comfortable with all amenities provided. Particularly liked having a smart tv capable of casting from phone so I could watch the Grand Prix qualifying! Food was lovely, had dinner in the oak room and have to say the food was better than the meal we had the previous night at the Hand and Flowers. and a third of the price! Will certainly return.

Had a two night break here with my partner in mid May and were blessed with good weather. This allowed easy access by walk to Marlow which is a beautiful small town. Rooms are of excellent standard, ours with a balcony and view over the grounds to the river. Bar and restaurant facilities are excellent as is the spa. All staff are courteous and efficient. Price reflects the quality if the establishment. Recommended.

Just returned from this Hotel where my daughters wedding was held. Beautiful house and surroundings. The staff were fantastic, very attentive and capable. Would recommend it. Rooms were amazing too with great views across to the Thames.

Everything was the best I have experienced of all the hotel and spa breaks I have had! The staff were so professional, helpful and friendly, the room was beautiful and comfy with great views. Many compliments to housekeeping, grounds and maintenance teams for the superb upkeep of all. Food was amazing and the service was so attentive, flexible and professional. The Spa has a good size pool with plenty of chairs and facilities, along with excellent treatments. Huge thankyou to all. wholeheartedly recommend and a great location too!

My Husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Danesfield House Hotel & Spa as a treat for my birthday. The staff went over and above to make our stay a happy one from the moment we checked in. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff even gave us complimentary drinks and truffles on our first night with our dinner. The room was better than expected as we'd booked a package stay via Secret Escapes and the hotel grounds, interior and spa facilities did not disappoint.

Dining in the orangery was a real treat too and the food was very well presented and delicious. Would thoroughly recommend a stay at Dansfield House and we will certainly return. Thank you for making our stay a trip to remember!

We had a lovely stay here, the house and grounds are very impressive, make sure you allow time for a walk around! My spa treatment from Marilyn was fantastic. All the staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was tasty and the view from the table was great. I enjoyed a mocha alongside my eggs Benedict. The highlight was seeing the hotel cats, Michael and Matthew, who were waiting patiently outside for their breakfast and enjoyed a fuss!

This is a beautiful hotel with amazing grounds. Certainly one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The bedroom was luxuriously appointed with an amazing view of the grounds and the Thames. The restaurant staff were very professional and nothing was too much trouble. The service at this hotel is first class. The spa pool had ample seating and the treatments we had were really relaxing. All of the staff were exceptional. We will definitely be back.

Just arrived home from spending 3 fabulous days at Danesfield House hotel. Had a wonderful time. Food is outstanding along with the customer service. I cannot praise enough. My room was stunning with a gorgeous view. Spa is also lovely. Countryside views are wonderful. All the staff are lovely a few names I'd like to mention Ann Marie, Amy and Jack for being so helpful and friendly.

I don't think I've met as nice staff at any other hotel I ve visited. Definitely will be returning. The only small critisim is our room was a little cold if you could perhaps leave the heating on longer in the winter months would be perfect. Many thanks

We had a truly magical experience at the Danesfield House Hotel just before Christmas for a joint birthday celebration with my twin sister. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the rooms magnificent with lovely clean bathrooms. The view of the gardens from the room was also wonderful. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Although not all the staff wore masks, most did, and it made the hotel feel very safe.

We had access to the pool and spa for a fixed time slot to ensure it wasn't too busy and the dinner in the restaurant was delicious and beautifully presented. They also let us bring in our own birthday cake to celebrate at the table. We had a really special weekend and visited the lovely town of Marlow the next morning to do some last minute Christmas shopping. Would definitely recommend this hotel and cannot fault our stay.

Excellent room exactly as I'd requested (overlooking the River Thames in the distance), excellent food in the afternoon, dinner and at breakfast. Spa facilities were excellent and, in these difficult Covid times, it was clear to see that the precautions and regulations are being taken very seriously indeed. It was my first time away since the start of Covid and I felt very comfortable and safe throughout my stay. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for and therefore, for me, money well spent.

Nice place and nice room. Food good. Be prepared to pay extortionate prices for drinks and have a service charge applied for being served at the bar

Wonderful location with fantastic manicured grounds and magnificent building steeped in history. Staff really pleasant and helpful. A fabulous place for a short break as it has the additional benefit of a spa. Lunch was beautifully presented, although menu is a little restricted. Dinner menu is more varied so we will return! However the food was first class. Would have no problem recommending this venue.

Amazing retreat only on the outskirts of London. Very peaceful exactly what the doctor ordered. Staff were lovely and helpful. You could see some were new, but ever effort was made to ensure the the guests had a pleasant experience. You will always get the moaners and it was upsetting to see how they treat people, especially when they are trying to help. Would definitely come back and recommend this place.

Stunning grounds, food in the restaurant is up there with the best I have ever had, my room was tiered and about a 7 out of 10 clean and the room service was poor, not what you want when you consider the cost of your stay. Be that as it may I would stay again

Bought 2 luxury afternoon escapes for a birthday gift around 6 months in advance. At 10am on the morning of the spa day we got an email saying the masseuse had called in sick and that we wouldn't be able to get the spa treatment. Pretty poor, but we attended anyway as we were told we could have lunch, use the facilities and receive a full complimentary afternoon escape on another date.

The service at lunch was very poor - understandable because they had a wedding on, but we had to walk to the counter to order food and drink several times. At no point did anyone explain to us which food was included, and nobody brought us the bill even though we were at the table for around 3 hours. Later that evening, after we'd left, I received a call from the restaurant saying we owed them money for drinks that weren't included in the package.

They eventually covered the bill and apologised for the poor service, which was good of them - but still disappointing to have been called in the first place after everything that had gone wrong. On returning for our complimentary spa day the reception staff told us we wouldn't be getting the lunch, "as we'd already had it last time" (this was the same girl that booked it in 2 months prior).

We had to make our case again to get this resolved. Once we finally got the day we paid for, everything was great. The food, service, massage and facilities were all fantastic and we left feeling very relaxed - it's just a shame it took such a mess to get there. The spa day itself was 100% worth it but the overall experience left a lot to be desired.

The service was amazing and room were very large and well presented. The whole area and the building was beautiful. The food at the restaurant and the breakfast are second to non. Really well presented and taste amazing. The Staff were also able to cater for dietary needs if advance notice is given. The two Spa treatments I took was great. The second massage was genuinely better then the first so if booking treatment try with two different professionals.

Mixed feelings. The grounds are nice although maybe not perfectly maintained. The same comment goes for the building and amenities. The pool was very good. Spa treatments decent. The food though, was very limited and very average. If you stay here, book to eat outside if the hotel which includes the breakfast. The staff however were all excellent. Polite and helpful, they turned 3 star into 4.

Beautiful building and setting. Staff welcoming and friendly. Our room could do with some attention to decor but very spacious with toiletries, iron and hairdryer. Restaurant was quite posh staff was overly professional, not natural. Drinks was way too expensive. Menu was OK not everyday food but it was well cooked and presentable. Spa was excellent.
