This could be an good place to stay. Overall, it's in desperate need of modernising. The carpets and entrance hallway were uninviting. Breakfast, parking, and free WiFi were the benefits we went for. It wasn't the most convenient location for our destination. We made our decision based on the benefits mentioned.

Good price, good location. A little noisy:door banging. Breakfast is a help yourself style, with communal serving utensils. I really thought Covid, and the risk of spreading it, had finished this type of breakfast service off.

Nice room, a little dated bit fine for a few nights. Good price and breakfast was included. Close for a walk into the centre (but an uphill walk coming back!)

I stayed here for 1 week stay was good and their hospitality but in between 1 day before my checking out date I extended my stay and I paid 40 right away but after 1 hour I've to cancel that extended stay at that time they promised me the full refund because it was just 1 hour after the confirmation. Now it's been 2 weeks since I moved from there I didn't receive my refund yet they took my card details and all.

In between I personally went there because I'm university student so I'm staying in a nearby accommodation so at that time I couldn't see the manager the receptionist told me to call when manager is there later I called on the when he was there he asked email id and said he will refund after that last call it's been 1 week no refund and when I called no one picking up the phone.

I thought my room was decently clean when I arrived until I saw under the bed. What a nightmare. There was so much dust and hairballs and random small objects that have probably been trapped there for months. The breakfast is good value for money and the people at the front desk are lovely, but the cleaning was not up to scratch.

Three of us stayed here this Friday for little over 15 each, this was a late minute booking and we were overwhelmed with how much we got for our money! It's free parking, straight down the hill into town in less than 5 minutes, cooked breakfast included, hot water and clean bedding. Yes the rooms are dated and yes it could do with refurbishment, but what are you expecting for such a good price? All really happy and would definitely stay again.

Regardless of a 2* or 5* rating - In our experience this property is not fit for purpose. There was a leak from (toilet?) which had a nasty odour. Due to the excessive damp in the attic room that we were allocated, my asthma began to flare up after approximately 20 minutes of being in the room. My partner who has no respiratory issues, began to feel the effects of the dampness on her lungs.

Although it was New Year's eve, a decision was made to leave this property. We confirmed with reception that no charges would be incurred. However, you've guessed it - money was taken from my account. We are still awaiting a refund! PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Especially for your health.

Put us in a cold room (number 34) and I had to go out there twice, in order for the guy to actually come and check our heating wasn't working. Horrible draft in room 34 and the radiator was stone cold. He tried to say that because of the time, everyone would be sleeping, so I'm just meant to freeze in the room? They moved us to room 27, it was definitely slightly warmer in that room but the radiator still didn't work, besides the heating issues, the room was clean, water was hot.

Odd shower setup in room 27, the bathtub you're standing in literally fills with water pretty quickly when showering which isn't really an issue, had a TV in room but no remote control so that was pointless. Other than that I would probably stay here again, as the price on thier website wasn't too bad (for a room with heating that is) I will just me making sure the heating is working before I go there again.

It's a very interesting building, staff was friendly and nice but you get what you pay for. Not bad but don't get high expectations.

Arrived quite late, no space in car park and very tricky to exit due to van parking right by entrance. Carpets were disgusting however bed was fine and bedding very clean. Broken floor tiles in bathroom. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Lots of stairs to get down to restaurant. Very reasonably priced though at 50 for 2 plus breakfast. Wouldn't want to stay for longer but ok for one-night.

Positive first. the beef was comfy. the shower was strong and easy to get to a good temp. the breakfast was nice. it was very cheap.negatives. I'm sorry, but the carpet is just minging. It really needs burning and to be replaced. I would be happy to pay more money if the carpet was replaced. As it is the only reason we wouldn't come back is because the carpet literally made me feel ill. Such a shame because all the positive things that go to waste because of this one thing.

We booked this hotel on the basis of the photos on the website and I often try to defer from negative reviews. However, in this instance there are points to be raised with the accommodation. Upon arrival it was clear to see there were maintenance and service issues. Going up the narrow stairs the plaster was coming off the walls and although fire doors are fitted, there seems no access to fire ladders on the upper floors.

So if a fire occurred on the ground floor the only escape is the narrow winding staircase. So the room itself was quite dirty, the shower head and basin were unclean. The TV was small and only 1 power outlet to charge electronics, so an extension lead is needed. It was not helped also by rising damp across 1 wall (see pics) and the small window frame moved and wobbled when opening the window.

The bed linen looked clean, although the duvet was small for a larger person and struggled to cover an average person, but it was very warm. I was bitten in the night by something, it could have been mites the marks are still there 3 days later. The smoke and bad smell radiating within the room left its mark and was difficult to sleep in this atmosphere.

Overall the lighting is poor with lights leaning out from the wall and the room itself was generally unclean, to gauge the level have a view of the pics of the room on arrival. If staying as a contract worker it's doable, but not for family groups or couples looking for a few days away. Parking is limited and work is still being done on the premises and it needs a lot of help!

I really would not recommend this hotel for anything but a desperate stay on a budget or work related, which is a great shame as it has so much potential. I acknowledge it is cheaper rate than most places to stay in the area, but if unable to sleep and the uncleanness of the room itself, would put most people off.

It's worth the price, it's old fashioned, a bit run down, and not worth more than a night. The staff seem pleasant enough, the rooms are a decent size, if slightly unclean and broken. The bedding is clean and so is the toilet. In the room I stayed in there were 3 lamps connected to the walls (as reading lamps), all 3 are crooked and broken. The TV in the room is bulky, old, and broken.

The mattresses are uncomfortable, but work. All in all, this hotel is worth the price you pay, hardly anything for hardly anything. It's a roof, a bed, and breakfast for a low price. 3/5*

This hotel is situated very close to Town Centre, where you can find a good selections of shops; wine bars and restaurants. Set on a quiet road, the property sits on a hill and has a car park to the rear of the property, looks pretty on approach. The room has everything you need for a short stay- a small television; a refreshments tray and kettle and towels are provided.

The shower in my room was nice. Breakfast is included in the price- and it is nice to see the variety of foods offered, buffet-style. Hand sanitiser stations are situated in the Lobby and Dining Hall/Restaurant.

We booked this hotel for one night during our visit to High Wycombe. In pictures this place looked good and we wanted to support local business rather than a chain. However, the moment we walked in I realised that we have made a mistake! I did ask at the reception if there was any other room available for an extra charge, but to my surprise they were fully booked.

The place is falling apart and is very grubby. There are holes in the door, the sink tap moves every time you touch it, cracks in the ceiling, half a window in the shower and furniture has weathered over time and wobbly. The place was clean-ish, but how much you can clean a carpet which has turned gray over time! The bed wasn't comfortable and put in a corner. So, no side table for water etc and to use the washroom you have walk over bed in middle of night.

No curtains in the room, just a blind. As a result, the room was nice and bright since 5am. The breakfast was fine and staff was okay. However this wasn't a comfortable stay and all we wanted to check out as soon as we possibly could.
