Widbrook Grange, home of resident owners Jane and Peter Wragg is an elegant 250 year old Georgian country house hotel peacefully located in 11 acres of grounds on the outskirts of the ancient town of Bradford-on-Avon. The hotel lies on the edge of the Cotswolds amidst rolling countryside yet is only 20 minutes from the historic city of Bath and Lord Bath's magnificent Longleat stately home and safari park.

We stayed here for 1 night for a wedding (the hotel was the wedding venue). The room was a good size, good clean bathroom and good selection of teas and coffee. The winner for us was the breakfast. Excellent food. The negative points (reason for not getting 5 stars) are the drinks prices were very high (double vodka and coke was I think 13.50!) and the car park area was a bit uneven or stones so not the best surface to walk on.

I cancelled my reservation on Dec 31 and now at the end of April I am still waiting for the deposit that was promised to be returned. Instead of crediting my credit card they have sent it to some 3rd party that I cannot access. Multiply emails and phone calls have not produced any results. Very frustrating to deal with.

Overall the stay was great. The rooms were huge and it was very dog friendly which was wonderful. The staff were all excellent, super friendly. We had a few issues with our bathroom like the bath plug didn't work and the shower flooded, I fed this back on checkout and was told this would be investigated. I also think the ceiling in the conservatory could do with a clean. Overall we did have a great stay and I would recommend it and stay again, had a very relaxing time.

I had a wonderful visit for a cream tea. The whole experience from booking through to paying was fantastic. Booking is really easy and can be done by phone or their online form. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. There are a few seating areas including a conservatory, 2 lounges, a restaurant and an outside dining area. The building itself is beautiful with a clean but traditional decor.
The cream tea was delicious with a choice of tea or coffee served with a warm scone, cream and jam (which you can add in any order you prefer ). I went on my own and it was a lovely place to sit and read a book while treating myself.

The rooms were spacious, plenty to keep our 2 year old occupied, staff were helpful, and the food and drinks were spot on - just what we needed after the year we've had. The only down point was that we couldn't get the TV to work and nobody answered the phone in reception, probably due to a lack of staff, but still well worth 5 stars! Hope to visit again in the future.
