Bought my good lady a birthday present here the other day. I was a bit confused by the different types of opal but the staff took time to explain and as a result I was able to select what I wanted with confidence. We have bought jewellery here several times and have always been pleased with the quality.

After visiting 2 different jewellers in Bath to remodel a diamond and ruby ring for me neither of them got back to me with costs and timescales etc. I got the impression they didn't think I wanted the work done (!?!) or more realistically afford it. Not at Sipsons. Ian was great at listening to what I wanted and made suggestions which I had never thought of.
I went ahead and was so pleased with the finished ring I then went back and had a 3 stone diamond ring remodelled. All the stones I had set were in rubover settings as I do not like claw set. I was emailed CAD pictures for me to look at before the final settings were made. Brilliant service and communication all the way and I cannot recommend them enough for remodelling items of jewellery.
As soon as I find a lovely Amethyst I will be back. UPDATE: I have recently had an amethyst ring made by Heather at Sipsons which, once again, the whole process was good. I was listened to and updated all the way through. They sourced the stone for me by getting a selection for me to choose from: right colour, size and cut. I changed my mind a couple of times about things, but it was no problem. Fabulous advice given to me on the cut of the stone and the setting.
I had it set in sterling silver rather than yellow gold as I thought it looked better against the deep purple colour. ( I do not like white gold). I have had many compliments on it as the colour of the amethyst is very rich and looks stunning in the silver setting.
