There is always a little gremlin in the back of one's mind that something may not go smoothly. Booking was efficient and friendly done which now in retrospect neatly sums up the whole experience. Dog "friendly" establishments may take a leaf out of this place particularly on some absurd charges for the canines. The staff were brilliant throughout and we had a really enjoyable stay as a result.
We returned later that week for a family lunch which was a great way to end a family birthday celebration. Our dog left replete with biscuits and indulgence. So did we on the indulgence.

A wonderful hotel in a wonderful location. We have stayed here twice on different occasions and both experiences have been wonderful. On both occasions we have stayed in the 'Lodges' which offer parking spaces, even though the Hotel hosts multiple parking places. We have used the Hotel for evening meal & breakfast which has been lovely on every occasion.
We were disappointed to learn that some nights the restaurant is closed due to staff shortages. However, the food served is hearty & enjoyable. We also used the complimentary swimming session. The hotel has great amenities set in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Betws Y Coed is a favourite of mine and I would return to this hotel if I was to travel further afield it is that nice. All in all a brilliant hotel.

What a great place to base ourself for a week in the snowdonia area. We love this hotel for its flexibility. It has rooms or whole houses for hire in the grounds. If you have a big family this is the hotel for you. We love the warm family friendly feeling. There is a big pool and the restaurant is good enough for a meal with kids. You come for the mountains but can warm up after in this great home from home

Comfortable room with good shower and plenty of shelf space in the bathroom, plentiful coat hangers, teas and coffees and biscuits. Decor dark and a bit tired. Friendly staff. Wales was still having issues with staff and there was table service only for breakfast so this made things slow. Restaurant closed On Sunday - Tuesday evenings but bar open.
We were told this was due to staff shortages. We were in a roadside room so there is noise if traffic so if you like the window open at night this disturbs sleep. The hotel is a short walk from shops, miniature railway, bridges and restaurants. Our friends brought a dog of and for just 10 extra they were given a large lodge in the grounds with French doors and parking outside the door. We felt the price for our stay was a bit high but this is possibly because you get use of the indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam rooms (used by locals who also use the gym).

I was not staying in the hotel but I did use the pool and the beauty room for a treatment. I had a fabulous relaxation treatment that consisted of a back, neck and shoulder massage and a facial that lasted just over an hour. The therapist was fabulous and can highly recommend any treatment with her.

Had a fabulous meal here. Though we live locally we haven't been for a while due to the obvious! So pleased to be able to go out for food here again. Everything well laid out to comply with social distancing and cleanliness spot on. Felt very safe. The food was freshly cooked to order so waiting time a little longer than some places but well worth the wait. Opted for the pan fried cod - wow! We loved the entire dish. Can't wait to go again. Highly recommend.

My second stay at the Waterloo Hotel and once again I was so impressed with the service. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful, offering advice on bus routes, getting us in for a very short notice meal on NYE and even posting my husband's wedding ring back after he left it in our room. The hotel is comfy, clean and has parking right next to the rooms. The spa is great after a day in the mountains. Perfect for an escape to the countryside - we'll be back!
