Beautiful location, such a shame that the beach club is closed to non hotel residents, last year it was open to all for drinks and was such a joy to visit without having to be a hotel resident. We went there without knowing this and tried to order drinks from the hotel, the whole terrace was empty and we would have been happy taking our drinks down there ourselves but the staff didn't allow for this.
Real shame! I hope its open to all again soon, like before. They certainly could earn a happy sum from us and from others by opening up for wine, hot drinks, cocktails and maybe tapas! I'm sure its the best spot to view st Mawes and would be a popular spot.

Visited here for an ice cream and drinks and sat outside on the terrace. The positives were that the ice cream was really nice and that the views from the terrace were amazing. There was also one friendly waiter. However, the attitudes of the remainder of the staff were appalling and they totally looked down on you and thought that they were in some way superior to you.
The two who stood out were a guy dressed in blue who I asked for directions to the toilet. All I received back was a curt "down". Clearly too much of an issue to form it into a sentence. The second was a waitress who we tried to pay at the end, who just looked at us up and down like we were scum. Not impressed at all by their attitudes and also not impressed how they put on a service charge for ice creams and soft drinks. I seriously wouldn't recommend.

One of the most beautiful hotels in England. This establishment is of the highest standard - fantastically clean and well maintained, beautiful designed and appointed, polite, respectfully and excellent staff. Genuinely one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed and we plan to be married here in 2023. Thank you to everyone who makes this such a special place!

When you arrive at Tresanton, it's immediately clear that it was conceived by top hoteliers. Everything you rest your eye on, from the layout, to the the plants and furniture has been carefully considered. Service was excellent, as was the room and food. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the SETTING is absolutely stunning. It's rare you get hotels this good any more; and I suppose it comes at a premium cost. but, to be honest, for what you get in terms of quality, relaxation and style, the 320/night price tag for a room is pretty fair. Would highly recommend.

Our three-day stay there was marvelous, and I know we'd like to return some day! The service, rooms, and restaurant were excellent, though the views looking out into the harbor and ocean exceeded our expectations and every angle was beautiful. Internet and phone service was sporadic, so for those visitors who depend on modern technology, that can be a bit of a problem.

Top quality hotel and you can sense this as soon as you walk up the steps. Classic, modern and smart, with a smart dining room and large terrace overlooking the harbour. I've only rated not stayed here, but my parents have and said its wonderful-however it comes at a price! I can't image most people could justify more than 3 nights, but worth it for a short luxury break:) Despite the smartness, the staff are relaxed and children are welcome:)

Spent a long weekend here at the end of May. Wonderful location facing south over St Mawes Bay and St Anthony's lighthouse at the end of the St Mawes peninsula. It's a very comfortable hotel with an excellent restaurant. Wonderfully quiet and relaxing. Definitely not somewhere to go for nightlife, but if you want a quiet cocktail as the sun sets, then it would be hard to do better than this.
Some easy walks from the hotel if you like a little gentle hiking to work up an appetite for dinner, and regular ferries across the harbour to Falmouth, the nearest metropolis.

We now live near St Mawes which has the one down side that we don't get to stay at the Tresanton any more! BUT, we do get to eat there. Lunch is actually my favourite meal to take here because of the stunning views across to St Anthony's head and the open sea. Dinner is also wonderful because the restaurant is a beautifully tasteful venue so we really enjoyed ourselves Saturday night, especially with the extra hour we were looking forward to. Here's the rub with these reviews: I would suggest that a plate of bad food at 5 was grossly expensive whereas 42 for three course when the food is so good should be considered very cheap!
The Prosecco flowed like ermmm. wine! The staff are so professional and are led so well by Federica who I suspect has cloned herself - one person cannot be in so many places at one. We are already planning lunch there on Saturday to celebrate my wife's birthday

This hotel is actually in St Mawes and not Truro. We have stayed here 3 times - once in summer, and twice at New Year. The New Year experience is truly awesome. The core of the hotel used to be fishermens' cottages, and has retained a quaint feeling whilst being decorated and furbished to a great standard. In summary its a realtively small boutique hotel, where service and quality of food / wine is everything.
The food is truly stunning - it really is a fine dining experience. The staff throughout the hotel are not only helpful and polite, but very friendly and will bend over backwards to help you. St Mawes itself is a very pretty, unspolit village on a headland with only one road to access it. It is great in summer, with its small harbour and a couple of small beaches, and in winter there are fabulous walks around the paths which make up part of the Cornwall coastal path, topped off by a pint of guiness / local cider or three in the pub down the road. I would give this 6 stars if I could! Have added some photos

Also known as the 'Tranny' by locals, this is 'the' hotel to visit if you want to splurge some cash, pick up a boaty boy and sup champers whilst watching the sun set over the sea. truely chic and appropriately expensive, this is the place that old charlie boy stays, jermey clarkson kicks back and the wise and wealthy recoup.

Really nice hotel with great views. A bit of a hike to the car park but they will deliver your car if you ask. The rooms are very nice with nice bathrooms and some with balcony areas. The breakfast was good and the evening meal and cocktails are a must! Try the rib ride and see the seals or hop on the boat for a bit of shopping in Falmouth.
