The Nare The Nare is an exclusive and privately owned 40-bedroom, five-star country house hotel. Traditionally managed, yet with proprietorial presence and charm, it is considered to be the most comfortable hotel in Cornwall. The Nare's brand of traditional hospitality and personal touches make for a truly relaxing stay all year round. The Nare's spectacular south coast location provides the most delightful sanctuary and a choice escape from the stresses of everyday life. Situated in a secluded bay, the hotel is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, rolling hills and boasts panoramic sea views over Carne beach.
Services
I am particularly proud to introduce you to The Nare which has been in our family's ownership for over 30 years. An AA 5-star hotel, it has been the highest rated hotel in Cornwall for the last three decades. Acquired by my grandmother, Bettye Gray, The Nare continues a century-long family tradition of running hotels.
The Nare is surely one of the most beautifully situated hotels in the British isles. Set on the Roseland Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the hotel benefits from spectacular sea views and the natural beauty of the rural landscape.
Nare bedrooms are both elegant and comfortable. Most are large and spacious and all rooms have the refinements one would usually find in a well-run country house; armchairs, books, magazines and fresh flowers. Some of our rooms are on the ground floor making them easily accessible and a lift is available to access rooms on the first floor.
Dining at The Nare is a luxurious experience. Guests will have the opportunity to have dinner in The Quarterdeck restaurant and the Dining Room during their stay. The Nare's reputation for fine dining has been established over many years, with both Nare restaurants receiving recognition for culinary excellence.

Really unfriendly - non residents completely unwelcome and no reason given for not being allowed even to have a drink even though they are apparently "open". Very bizarre and not something I would expect of a so-called five star hotel. Truly

This was our first visit and stay at The Nare Hotel, and can certainly recommend it, we will definitely be returning in the future. The staff, food and facilities are fantastic, we were made so welcome on our arrival, nothing was too much trouble and the situation of the hotel only two minutes walk from one of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall was perfect.

You can make it a very relaxing holiday at the hotel itself, or there are so many places nearby for you to visit within an hours drive. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so enjoyable.

On the signage outside it says open to none residents. But they are not, looks really good, great setting, but we were turned away.

Recently returned from another delightful 4-night stay at The Nare. This is a hotel that really understands its customer base and caters for it perfectly. That's why so many of us keep coming back.

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff. Decor is cosy and inviting, with elegance. Stunning location and lovely beach, bit off the main routes, but worth it once you are there.

Another place which did not want my custom all we wanted was a Wednesday lunchtime drink in the sun was told not open to non residents. Do these places want to earn some money or not? Anyway suggest going to the Plume of Feathers in Portscatho where the welcome was warm and friendly and it was packed out too. Take a note

Went to the quarterdeck restaurant in the Narefor a friend's Birthday and was surprised when I looked at the fairly limited menu and very little without fish. Luckily I love fish and started with the Thai crab cakes which were really nice! For my main I had half a lobster with potatoes and a salad. the lobster had been pre-removed from the shell and covered in garlic butter and was absolutely delicious!

Finally I had the dessert of the day which was a sort of fruit mouse which was also delicious! I had an excellent lunch with the only thing being the lack of choice on the menu. Is was expensive but certainly a nice treat! Would definitely recommend

Looks lovely and great location but not open to non-residents if you're looking for a drink/lunch. Probably one to avoid for the foreseeable and pick one of the many in the area that are.

The Nare is an excellent hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in December. The standard and friendliness of staff was very good, the food offered an excellent variety and was prepared and served to a high standard. Decoration and facilities of our room and the hotel were good, cleanliness was good and the views over the shoreline were splendid.
