We ordered 2 teas and one scone with jam and cream 14.02 which was so overpriced. The scone had a rubbery texture, like it had been warmed too long in a microwave and the jam was more like strawberry jelly. A hotel classed as 5* and the price I would have expected much better quality. Location was nice with a small balcony overlooking the bay and the interior decor was lovely with sea inspired art by a local artist decorating the walls.

We had a lovely stay at The Lugger Inn for my husband's birthday. Situated in a beautiful Cornish fishing village with stunning walks right on the coast path. Very friendly staff and a comfortable room with sea view. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was rather expensive, but this was the only negative point. Would definitely highly recommend

Lovely 2 night break, very tranquil and picturesque, could not provide dinner on first night, if the shop inn up the hill couldn't fit us in, we would of been scuppered Full English on first morning was fantastic expect missing beans so a little dry Eggs royale to the next morning Not to happy to about to 10% surcharge, I prefer to leave a tip myself Car park spaces too small, both car doors got dings in them Although we had a lovely 2 night break, we would go elsewhere next time

Beautiful building with ample parking just outside in a tiny little cove. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Rooms are very comfortable, with some nice extra touches, like robes and slippers, a complimentary turn down service and sweet treats. Slightly whistling windows on a windy day but the view from the sea view rooms makes up for this. Highly recommend room 201. Food was great and reasonably priced. Again lovely service. Definitely would recommend.

Really disappointed in The Lugger, we married 3 years ago and had our honeymoon here. Staff were amazing at that time. Today we rang to come and visit you this weekend, told that the restaurant is only open to residents only. We also asked could we come for coffee as we wanted to visit the hotel and beach again to be told you are closed. Really disappointed, you couldn't accommodate us for coffee I guess new management etc, shame won't be coming again

So we stayed at the Lugger Hotel last weekend for a double birthday celebration, and it was fantastic in every way. My wife is vegan so I emailed them to ask if they could accommodate her request and they made sure that there was adequate food there for her. The deluxe room with sea view was a real bonus for us, it was well presented, clean, warm and inviting.
The staff couldn't have done enough for us which made our stay a relaxing one, 10 out of 10. It's the first time I've stayed at the Lugger but I know it won't be the last, if you enjoy coastal walks and a peaceful place to visit then this would be on my bucket list.

Probably our sixth or seventh winter stay at The Lugger, now no longer an independent hotel but run by Bespoke Hotels. Still one of our favourites with good food and a pleasant atmosphere in such a lovely location. 4 rather than 5 stars as we were surprised to have to ask to be served pre dinner drinks every night of our three night stay rather than the staff notice we were there. The log fire in the lounge was great as it always has been but again a shame we had to ask for it to be relighted as it had been allowed to go out.

Another great stay at The Lugger. The deluxe sea view room(s) is/are well worth the extra money although all the rooms are nice - but to sit and watch the sea rolling in and out of the harbour of a morning/evening is good for the soul. Portloe is just such a beautiful place away from the hustle and bustle of touristy Cornwall. The staff are so friendly and helpful throughout - I hope this will be a regular stay for a long time to come. (3rd photo below is the view from up over the headland to Jakka Point)

Not a warm welcome. We visited a few days ago, walking the southwest coast path, and enjoyed very much the country and our lovely hosts, But The Lugger was disappointing on arrival. Staff members standing in front of the entrance and looked at us, as we were tramps. Of course we wore hiking gear. I had to resist, that we have room reservations and even then, the woman at the entrance ( probably the house keeping management) felt uncomfortable to let us in.
What an arrogance! Do we have to arrive by Porsche? Reception is slowly and not 5star class. Restaurant Staff is lovely and charming, but the dinner and the breakfast is very overrated! Was the most horrible Egg Benedict I've ever had. Rooms, location and the houses are really nice, but the welcome lowers our mood.

Just returned home from a four night stay at The Lugger Hotel.what can I say!? It was amazing! The hotel nestles in a beautiful little harbour, it's breathtaking. Our room was lovely and clean with everything we could possibly need. Great choice at breakfast and we took a packed lunch with us for our outings in the day. The evening meals were exceptional, all local produce and fresh fish caught daily with the menu changing every day. The staff were brilliant, kind and friendly with nothing too much trouble, a real credit to the hotel. We are definitely going book again. See you soon!

Fabulous stay at this wonderful hotel for our honeymoon. The location is perfect, food really fresh and delicious, staff so friendly and attentive and everything first class but also relaxed. Cannot fault this as a perfect place for a retreat to recharge and be looked after and soak in the stunning views. Thank you! Lisa & John

We enjoyed our stay at The Lugger and would highly recommend to anyone who's looking for a break from usual hectic lifestyle. A great place to unwind. Spectacular views day and night. During the day you'll see people often going for a swim or paddle boarding. The staff were welcoming and food and room service was spot on. Would definately come here again.

Such a beautiful hotel with the most incredible sea views. Your holiday starts the minute you step in here! Brilliant staff, cosy cottages - ours literally had a spectacular sea view (pictured) and you could hear the sea crashing at night. The restaurant is lovely too with a great 3 course meal that is seasonal, local fare. There's also a cosy bar area!
The village of Portloe that the hotel is nestled in is beautiful, authentically Cornish and unspoilt too. Can't recommend it enough. Wake up early and take a walk along the cliffs for the most stunning views.

We loved our stay at the Lugger! Cute little marina in Portloe and a fun trip down narrow roads to get there! Definitely quiet and secluded. We enjoyed the included breakfasts and also the additional dinners. Great menu, with some changed entres the 2nd night. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed hiking around the hotel on the cliffs and paths!
The room was comfortable with nice amenities. There was a small tv, but we never even turned it on. Too much to do outside! Complimentary hit chocolate in the evenings was a nice touch, too! We'll be back!

Cute hotel in a small town. Their heart is in the right place but execution is rough around the edges. Housekeeping was notably bad (towels purposely left on ground were re-hung rather than replaced, etc.). The reception and dining room staff were all friendly and helpful, although one staff member in particular was a bit of a klutz and overly excitable. there were frequent clashes and bangs from him rushing around and dropping silverware. The food was great!
