Motorhome stopovers can now also be booked. The Thelbridge Cross Inn is a picturesque, family-run country inn located amongst the glorious rolling hills of Mid-Devon. A former coaching inn dating back to the 1700s, it is built of stone and cob, with beamed ceilings and open log fires. There are wonderful countryside views and, on a clear day, the hills of Dartmoor can be seen to the south, and Exmoor to the north.

We aim to, and confidently ensure, that all guests are made to feel welcome during their stay and we will respond quickly to all individual requests and ensure that any additional assistance is provided wherever required. The large level car park at the rear of the hotel includes two disabled parking bays directly next to the hotel entrance.
We focus on fresh local produce, flavour and balance to create traditional pub classic dishes. Join us for lunch or dinner. Diners can choose to eat in the warm and comfortable Dining Room which seats 40, or more informally in the bar dining area which has seating for up to 30. Whichever you choose, you can be assured that every meal is a special treat.
Our traditional pub food menu may change according to seasonal fresh produce that is available and, wherever possible, locally sourced foods are used, as well as home grown fruit and vegetables from the Thelbridge allotment. In addition, there are daily, Starters, Desserts & Specials, and our menu can be adapted for smaller portions for children.

Booked here for a week for work purposes and ended up booking the week after because I like the place. Food in the restaurant was really good! Would recommend going here for a meal if you're local. There's a good sports bar to. Rooms are pretty average staff are very friendly. You can also stay in the car park in a campervan with electric hook-up for a small price

Booked for Mother's Day lunchtime. The tables were all booked up and ended up in the spare events room surrounded with a pool table and other games, cold room and closed off bar. There were parties that followed later in the evening. The food was not good unfortunately, seems the potatoes had been reheated numerous times, veg was mediocre and roast beef was cold.
The plates weren't warm although the servers came out holding them and dishes with cloths making you think they were hot. It was so booked out that my 11 month old baby had to sit in her pram which caused distress, we didn't get desert as we just wanted to leave. No real table service. Overall very disappointed and don't think we will be dining or visiting anytime soon.

Don't order the tagaletelle is it was undercooked with no salmon and big dollops of cream cheese which looked disgusting and pink curly stuff don't even know what it was? And I asked for no parmasean cheese which I always thought was dry shavings. The waitress brought the salmon on a plate covered in oil and I couldn't tell if it was cooked or smoked.
My partner's meal was fine he had braised steak. I had chips in the end and even they weren't very nice with coleslaw which was very strong and covered in mayonnaise. Such a shame as a lovely looking pub immacculatley clean toilets. Not the staff's fault at all they were very nice and apologetic gave me chips and coleslaw for free And it was very pricey for what it was.

We arrived at lunch time and only wanted a light meal as we were dining out in the evening. The staff were lovely and so accommodating and were happy to share a meal between us. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. I particularly liked the minty mushy peas ( not like mushy peas as you know it but a much superior version). First class friendly service and first class meal.
