Stronlossit Inn

We had an evening meal at The Stronlossit Inn, the view from our table window was amazing. The menu is not too big but there is a good variety of dishes to choose from. The food we had was really fresh and tasty and there was a very relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. We couldn't fault the service either, recommended.

Had evening meal in the restaurant and would highly recommend. You need to book in advance as tourism really kicking on in the highlands. The highly organised manager did try and squeeze in walk ins in the small bar area but there only some small tables there. A good, reasonably priced menu. My Highland chicken was delicious. Lovely mix of veggies with it - carrot, turnip, kale. Wine by the glass and 2 real ales on hand pump.

We overnighted here. Room was well equipped & set out, & really clean. Food was good. My only niggle is that the welcome could have been warmer at reception & when making the reservation.

A short walk from Benroy Campsite. The food is fantastic and there's good choice of beers wine and of course whiskey.

I had dinner, without staying in the hotel. The dining room is beautiful and the dinner was good, especially for the starter, the haggis bon bon was very tasteful. Good also the beer, while the price is a bit high, it is more a restaurant price than an Inn price.

Had dinner here last night. Good food & presentation excellent with friendly service. Would definitely recommend and will return

Great hotel with lovely rooms. Bathroom very modern. Restaurant was nice with good service. Liked the locally brewed beer. Plenty of walks nearby.

The lad on the bar had been having a bad day, chef was AWOL so no food for non-residents (although someone we met at the bus-stop said he had walked in and had a nice pie!). Late afternoon visit, the atmosphere was a bit staid. Not much cheer but we'll visit again and it might be a bit different Hotel reception looked nice but floaters in the beer.

Wow! Amazing food. Even if you are not a haggis fan, do try the Haggis bonbon starter. Even my picky eldest loved it. I am not sure about the breakfast and dinner service times, but kitchen only open from 12 to 2 for lunch service, so make sure to plan your timing. Well worth it though. Really nice selection of drinks in the bar too.

We had to book this place because there was not much choice. July in the highest of the seasons. Extremely expensive for what is offered: old place with no working WiFi connection and a TV that offers Netflix, but when you click on it, it basically freezes and stops working. The only thing that saves this place is the kind staff (although they could not resolve anything) and the proximity to Glen Roy, which is just to die for.

Lovely people. Clean. Food is just. bad. I have no idea how they came up with this menu - stir fly? Curry? And they are not well executed. Everything clearly comes out of cans, tins and boxes. The beer selection is extremely unimaginative. Very nice servers. I feel bad bashing this place like this - but seriously, you can order ingredients, you can order some beers from anything than the huge factories (that make a Scottish variant of Bud Light)

After leaving Edinburgh and heading northwest, this was the only place open after a few hours of driving. We were starving, tired, and in need of a leg stretch. We ended up grabbing some eats in the restaurant, which is part of the inn. Looks like more of a local's hangout. They had a full bar including some domestic drafts at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the food missed the mark.

We were told their seafood was excellent. The sea bass looked terrible and ended up being very bland. Tried adding lemon and salt to no avail. We tried ordering their fish and chips, but it was already all sold out by the early evening. Ended up ordering some other items from the menu, including a burger and lasagna, which were all passable. Stick with the drinks here. Don't expect much in terms of a meal.

Good, honest, well cooked and presented pub food, in a lovely location. Good choice of mains with several fish and vegetarian options. Very tastefully decorated and comfortable, good bar and very attentive, friendly staff. Enjoyed our meal and would happily come again.

It was grim! Lasagne was really horrid NO tomato in the sauce at all and home made chips were raw inside - Owners ignored me - bread and butter pudding (was told it was home made) was awful.

A jewel in the desert, the bar at the Stronlossit Inn is one of the handfull of places near Roybridge where you can sit down in pleasant, warm surroundings for a nice drink or meal. Combining the cosiness of a modern bar-restaurant with little traditional touches such as its open fire, the Stronlossit offers a good range of cask beers as well as a variety of malts. Just the place for a relaxing evening after a day spent exploring the Fort William area!
