Great location with nice friendly staff. I only booked for one night, but liked it so much I stayed another night! Over the years I have stayed in many hotels with 5/6 stars, but I really liked this local hotel and the friendly staff really made for the faceless luxury at 4 times the costs.love it and will stop again!

Really enjoyed my stay over Easter weekend. Couldn't get a better location. Parking a little difficult but hotel was very busy. Rooms anOK simple standard what you would expect from a 2/3 star. Place has its own ghost apparently. Chloe who looked after us in the evenings was a star and a credit to the hotel. Give the girl a pay rise.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Overall the stay was okay. The person, who checked us in, was very bubbly, friendly and very informative! The room we were given had a fantastic sea view. The bathroom on the other was a different cattle of fish!: the toilet and bath was covered in pubic hair! Instantly we were given a different room. So thank you very much for the quick response!

Bed was comfortable, but I would have liked duvets. It is just a short walk to the beach and about 5 minutes walk into town. The interior of the hotel is in need of restoration. Would I stay again?: yes

Stayed here for 4 nights I payed for a sea view with balcony and wasn't disappointed its lovely to wake up with the sun on the sea. Some people expect the ritzs for youth hostel money how do they expect people to run a business on those margins. So if you enjoy character in a building with its imperfections a bit like faulty towers but with more than capable friendly staff and great location you can't go wrong and people have spoken ill of the owner and I feel he was just a fine normal down to earth person. And cleanliness was fine for me no problems. Hope to pop back soon for a short break. Ash.

Would give this hotel 0 stars if possible. Booked a two night weekend stay in January 2022 through Booking.com, but after checking in and seeing the room, we didn't even end up staying at the hotel. Hotel very shabby, outdated and dirty. Does not look like the pictures on Booking com. Unfortunately the room we were given was absolutely disgusting, dirty, outdated and the beds had absolutely no cushioning on them, felt like sitting on metal springs.

Bathroom absolutely tiny with dirty shower. No basic amenities in room, no TV, no aircon, etc. After seeing the room and realising that we couldn't stay there, we went back to the main reception and explained that we were checking out and why. The lady was incredibly rude and told us "well I'm not forcing you to stay here", no apology or anything.

You are also unable to park at this property, there are ample parking lots around the area but can't park in any of them without being clamped. The only parking available for the hotel is one line of street parking which was completely full when we arrived around 5-6pm. You also have to pay the hotel additional for parking on the road. We went and stayed at the Holiday Inn instead and had a wonderful stay. Would recommend just booking there instead. We were refunded the amount of our booking at Southcliff by Booking.com and received good customer service from them.

I booked through booking.com 56 for two nights in December, great value 28 a night. Hotel is in a very good position and looks very nice from the outside, with its blue lighting. Hotel receptionist was lovely. Hotel was clean and tidy. I didn't pay for a sea view, but got one with my room, number 24, bonus! This room during my stay was very quiet, which the reseptionist mentioned on my check in. Towels and usual complementary bathroom essentials provide. Hangers in closet, plenty for me, tea and coffee making facilities provided. Cups were very small, not a problem, popped to sports direct and purchased a massive China mug for 1.50, problem solved, lovely cupa with Pg tips on a string, provide by room service.

I brought my own biscuits with me. It's the little things that make a big difference. Used bar once for a pint, plenty of seating in lobby. It is an old Victorian building so don't expect new perfection. That's part of its charm. There is free WiFi, just enter code that reception gives you. Rooms are key card entry and you are given a code for main front entrance, for after hours.

Parking out the front 2 a day, 12.00pm to 12.00 pm. It has been mentioned that the beds could be better, which worried me a little. They were fine, I slept like a log, nothing wrong with them. Plenty of eating places, coffee shops ect around Folkstone, within a stone's throw from Hotel. Folkstone is worth exploring on foot. I will definitely use this hotel again. Although I gave The Southcliff Hotel five stars it is actually a budget hotel, but great value. Thanks Southcliff Hotel

The staff are wonderful and although the hotel looks a little dated, everything is in good working order. The bed was also surprisingly comfortable. The food offered at breakfast was also really good, i had a hot breakfast almost every day

So we wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel at all, we got to the hotel which at first was lovely the receptionist was lovely, my partner knew her from years back. However when we got to the lift that's when it went down hill. I'm disabled and we was on the 3rd floor.you can't fit 2 people in that lift barely. It's dangerous. It needs upgrading badly. the hotel smells.

We got into our room, there was hair on my side of the bed, hair on my pillow, their was yellow stains on our covers, damp upbove our bed, some sort of fluid on the wall, paint/wallpaper falling of the wall. Cracks and rust in the bath, carpet was dirty. However when we said we wanted a refund and to go somewhere else the manager was really understanding and explained to us what we had to do. As we went through booking.com just would avoid the hotel.

What a "treat" this was. Staff are super nice and friendly. Can't say the same about the hotel itself. Very outdated, needs a makeover. But some people may like the rustic look. : The biggest downfall, lack of cleanliness; hair in bed. Cat/dog whisker in the bathtub. Windows could do with a wash, as well as latches that actually keep them open. On the plus side; tea, coffee, kettle, shower hell, shampoo, clean towels are all provided in the room. Will I return? Haven't made my mind up on this just yet.
