Perfect base for a stay in this part of Kent. Well maintained Victorian hotel providing good value rooms to suit all budgets. We were offered to bid for a suite as an upgrade for only 15 a night and very pleased to win it as it was superb for our stay, basically a one bed flat with lounge, kitchenette and big bathroom. Breakfast made with local ingredients was excellent, both the full English and a kipper.
Also had a very good meal in the restaurant one evening. Service was efficient and accurate, no issues with payment etc. Everyone very friendly and wanting to help. Good location for the town. Five minutes walk down to the sea, a gentle twenty minute stroll into the centre, ten minutes from the railway station. I would return.

The hotel was clean and tidy, in a good location and the staff behind the bar were attentive however our room had no cold water which meant we had hardly anything to drink during the night. We were given a jug of water (this ran out as we also had to use it to brush our teeth) and were told that they knew about the issue and that it had only affected a few rooms but did not move us to a room it wasn't effecting. Had a very bad night's sleep and woke up with a bad headache as the room was also hot. Told the receptionist who checked us out about our experience and she said she would pass on our feedback to maintenence and then wished us well with our journey. It did not feel like our complaint and subsequent poor night's sleep was taken seriously. I would not stay here again.

I didnt stay but had a Christmas do there. Went for a Christmas do on Friday and couldn't fault the staff, nor the food. The beef was to die for, absolutely gorgeous! I'd also like to give a huge shout out to Adam who was one of the waiters on Friday. He went above and beyond and had a proper laugh with us all. Honestly cannot wait to be back one day!

This hotel is excellent value for money. Perfect to stay before getting the Chunnel or travelling back. I read a few reviews that were a bit negative so I didn't have high hopes. Firstly parking is very easy if the parking at the hotel is full. You can park on the street, just be sure to pay at reception. Our room was a basic twin. Very clean, good size bathroom and large wardrobe that you could walk into.
View of the sea was a bonus. If you can, eat at the hotel. We are at the bar not grill. It was excellent. The drinks, food, service and staff were 5 star. Quality selection. We didn't have breakfast as we left early. Throughly enjoyed our stay. Will upgrade to a four poster room when we come back as there is an offer in and it is excellent value for money.

We recently booked in a standard room at this hotel for 2 nights from Sun 5 to Tues 7 Sep 2021. We got parking onsite the small car park, and the whole booking and check-in process was a breeze. The hotel was of a high standard and close to the Leas walk way. During that time we were met and greeted at reception by staff who were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were lovely too. Enjoyed our stay and recommend it.

Really good place which is made by the friendly, helpful staff. An old building but the room was fresh, good big shower and comfy bed. Handy for the town centre and insight of the sea. Smallish car park is the only downside but seemingly enough parking on the local roads, immediately outside via a permit for a few pounds. Breakfast during COVID times is a generous grab-bag of items. Didn't try the dining room or other facilities, no reason to think the quality and value would be any different to the rest of the hotel.

Excellent room, 108, with partial sea view. Quiet elegant area, by the sea. Small car park and rare to find a space. Parking in the road in front is controlled and parking permits from reception cost 3 a day. Free parking in the road at the side but might have to walk a little way back. Restaurant has a good range of food with very helpful staff.

We recently attended a wedding and reception at the hotels function's facilities. The work that had gone into providing an amazing day for the couple and their guests was absolutely superb. The staff were friendly and could not do enough for you to ensure you had the best time. Excellent service and a beautiful building and grounds cap it all off. A great venue and hotel

Fantastic hotel, mostly great staff, maybe a little customer care training, but overall good. Room was clean, big, comfy bed. Nice facilities. Bar was a little under stocked, and a bit more variety wouldn't go a miss. And lastly, would have expected a better breakfast for the price.it was a bit bland. Overall, a nice stay
