Room ok, basic. Shower pretty poor in comparison to many other hotels, fed off bath taps. All was clean. Large hotel, one presumes due to age and knocking through of adjacent properties only 2 very tiny and aging lifts. Max 2 people. Manual doors, so if left open on another floor lift can't be called only option is stairs or to send a poor soul from staff up to investigate and to wait and wait.
Breakfast was well worth the money. Good range of self service buffet options. Staff happy and friendly. Taxi from harbor and livelier centre less than 5, so good location, just on the fringe, but plenty of parks and sea views of doorstep. 30 seconds from the door

I booked this hotel for my parents as a treat for their wedding anniversary. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay, in a sea view room. They said the bed was very comfortable, all the food was great and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel is well placed for walking to the beach, harbour and town. They would stay there again. Thank you for making it a special trip!

Great location, entrance lobby welcoming, after that disappointment, fair sized room with aged decor, looked like it hadn't been decorated in 20+ years, grout in the bathroom stained, shower curtain stained, The room was very very warm even with the heating off, window didn't open more than a hand width, and had black mould on the frame from the condensation Very very firm bed The lift to the room not a usual lift, a former service lift, very bouncy and small one person only, didn't feel particularly safe Only saving grace there is a Marco Pierre White restaurant included in the half board price

Nice location friendly staff and lovely big airy room with huge king size bed. You get a sense of history with this hotel, we enjoyed our two night stay staff were friendly and helpful, the decor is rather worse for wheat but gather that is being addressed. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Folkestone.

We held a small family wedding of 40 people at the Hotel. From first speaking with the Group General Manager, he had everything under control. We had very little stress and everything went like clockwork. In some cases they went above and beyond and we were more than satisfied with the day. The hotel staff and the wedding team were fantastic and I would highly recommend this venue.

Room window, despite being technically shut, had significant gaps around it letting the wind, noise and cold in all night. May as well have been open. Room decor and vibe was extremely dated. Elevator made me feel like I was in a horror movie where it's about to fall. The breakfast/restaurant area was nicely prepared. Self-service breakfast was ok.

This place is lovely. The outside and the location were appealing. The parking is not free so don't rely on booking.com stating it is, however its only currently (subject to change) 3 for 1 night. This is only if there is a space available, this is not guaranteed. The staff are all lovely, particularly the gentleman at breakfast who took our details and showed us to the table.
He was friendly and approachable, nothing for any of the staff was too much issue, for this reason alone I'd come back. The room was dated and needed some TLC. There was peeling paint in the bathroom and dated tiles and a crack in the toilet that had been patched up. A shower curtain is not the way to anyone's heart, ever . The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
The view, was amazing, it's such a shame the windows were clouded up between the paynes and they only open slightly. Breakfast was delicious, a great variety and hot. The sausages were fabulous, the black pudding had a funny taste. So, many positives and also some disappointment. I'd like to go back and experience a more luxurious stay. Room 470. Thank you to the wonderful staff.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel the night before we took the ferry to France. This hotel had a classic but also higher-end feel in the public areas, but the rooms seemed about average for what I experienced while in Europe. My room was very clean- and in seeing a lot of the rooms in the hotel I had one of the smaller ones. The suites and other rooms for larger numbers of guests were very spacious.
The hotel itself is a bit confusing to get around, but we figured it out. The view from the hotel is beautiful and it has close access to some restaurants and a beautiful walking area. There is also a very nice restaurant in the hotel. All of the people working here were incredibly helpful (I was traveling with a large group of students) and I would definitely come back again in the future.
