Lovely decor, friendly staff, amazing food, over all fabulous. Sadly standard seem to have gone down hill following a change of chef. Pub food at restaurant prices. Sad as a lovely environment

Stayed here for a wedding a couple of weeks ago and wasnt very impressed. Nice enough area but rooms are very basic and for the price i paid i was very underwhelmed. Everything was clean and breakfast was good but other than that i dont have much to comment on.

We had a lovely stay after celebrating my husbands long service award. The dinner at the presentation was excellent. Food was very good. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms in the courtyard were beautiful, good size and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good also. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed as a last minute booking Saturday 13th November. Stayed in Courtyard room. Room was nice and warm upon arrival. Dinner was good and service was great. Good night's sleep and great breakfast following morning too.

The room (Cromdale) was spotless, the shower had plenty of hot water and most of all the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were a little stressed by the sheer volume of people staying, but coped very well. This didn't impact on our stay - there was a few 'moaners' but you always get a few! The food was excellent and well presented. A throughly enjoyable short stay

Gorgeous place in the countryside, cabin has everything you need and is spacious. The grounds are beautiful as is the castle. The staff are brilliant, will stay her again in the future.

Stayed here back in July for one night in one of the courtyard rooms. Couldn't recommend highly enough. I phoned beforehand as we wanted to book on a DBB deal but I have food intolerances so needed to check they could accommodate me. Kerry went to great lengths to help and I had a fabulous meal and breakfast on top a very comfortable stay with my husband! Thankyou to 'team Shieldhill' particularly Kerry and the chef

What an amazing hotel. Friendliest place we have ever stayed as a family. We felt really warmly welcomed, all staff were amazing. Food was absoloutely top notch along with the service and the rooms were fantastic. Lovely comfy beds, spacious rooms and bathrooms, all in a Castle full of interesting history. Centrally located for easy access to Edinburgh / Glasgow and plenty of days out locally. We will definitely visit again.

Newly refurbished hotel. The building has been about since 1199, with additions down the ages. Great welcome by the staff, we tried the big plates on the bar menu. Steak sandwich with home produced fries was a great hit. Look forward to revisiting the hotel in the near future.
