Nice people and massive Scottish breakfast. My laptop has a bigger screen than the TV, but who watches TV in a hotel!

Just visited the pub for a meal, lovely barman! Food was pretty decent, good menu range! Specialist dog menu is a delightful touch!

My room was ok. The rest of our family were on the top floor, very cramped and 2 people had to change rooms as the bed was more like a camp bed. The staff were friendly and food was lovely both tea and breakfast. No complaints there but at 130 per room it was disappointing.

Stayed for a night in car park on our way south in our motorhome, there was even electric hook up if you need it. We ate in the bar, the food was lovely, service was also excellent. Would we return, absolutely.we would!

We didn't stay in the hotel but in our campervan in the hotel car park. We did go in for our evening meal and it was delicious! Rachel and Rab were so welcoming and friendly.like we'd known them for years and the public areas of the hotel were immaculate and so cosy. We will certainly be back and we would not hesitate it recommending them to friends and family. Cheers and see you again, Christine and Jeff (Sunderland)

We went for the monthly Thali Night (Nepalese cuisine) cooked by the hotel's own Nepalese chefs. The food was amazing, extremely tasty, large portions, the staff were (as always) fantastic and the atmosphere was great. There is no wonder these night sell out so far in advance.

Fab hotel. We found it and followed it through the Winter Highland website due to its Webcam. Had great nights stay on our way up into Scotland. Only 15mins off the M74. Rab and Rachel meld you feel very welcome and we could have chatted all night. Good food and beer and so cosy with the fire. Will stay again next time we are up this way.

Me and the wife plus dog stayed here for the evening to break up a journey to Aberdeen, and we'll definitely be back Super attentive staff, dog friendly and the room was to a extremely high standard. We were spoilt for choice for the evening food menu and breakfast was really generous and served with a smile. All in all a well run establishment which allowed us to be relaxed ready for our onward journey.

Good food, great company. Everything you need in your local. Go hungry! Great portions, particularly of the macaroni and the veggie burger (which is gorgeous). the owners are great to find out a lot about the area from- history and gossip!- and our glamorous landlady, is the warmest welcome you'll get anywhere in south Lanarkshire!

This family run hotel in the heart of Leadhills is the centre of the community. The family have a real sense of community spirit, hosting a number of events over the year such as bonfire night, Halloween party, and the Christmas Eve Santa visit. As you might guess, children are very welcome. The lounge is furnished with a real coal fire and a couple of very large leather sofas.

There are also a few tables and chairs for dining. There is a larger dining room available for functions or meetings, and a separate bar (that I must admit to never having been in). I've not stayed in this hotel so can't comment as to the service on that aspect of the business; however if the rest of the business is anything to go by you will be sure of a very pleasant stay. Food is good and cheap and there's certainly plenty to fill up the hungriest of hill walkers, likewise the beer.
