Visited hotels bar and had voucher we ordered food from bar menu, it was absolutely appalling. Burnt nachos, disgusting chorizo sausages, burnt burger, the trout salad was dry and so very salty. The chips obviously were frozen chips.not nice in any way. The young guy behind the bar and who served us was wonderful, and has amazing customer skills, unfortunately I couldn't say same from his female colleague who was snapping at her colleagues and customers and did not once crack a smile. Your saving grace was the guy behind the bar, a great attribute to your staff.but alas food wise it was just absolutely awful especially for the price you charge.

Nice place - good food and rooms comfortable but pricey. For a room costing over 200 I would expect not to pay to enter the spa and have a swim - however for 1 hour 45mins it is 30 each and 40 at weekends! If the spa was included in the room price it would be acceptable but won't be returning until changes are made.

We stayed at Coniston for 3 nights and whilst we enjoyed our stay, overall we felt it was overpriced. Negatives: Spa entry is not included which is a bit disappointing when you consider the price you pay to stay. Breakfast was very average, we were expecting it to be fresher. Our 3 course meal in blossom kitchen was possibly the worst meal we've ever had, it was inedible and other guests were also complaining (we found out the head chef was not working but still not an excuse). Positives: staff were very friendly, guest services in particular were very helpful at resolving our issues with the meal at blossom kitchen. Grounds are lovely. Plenty of great gluten free options in the restaurants. The spa is lovely and the treatments were incredible. Overall, we'd come back to the spa but wouldn't stay again.

As a family we have been coming to the hotel for over 10 years. I am never disappointed, the newly decorated foyer has a lovely modern feel but remains country theme. The view restaurant, Flo looked after us as usual and it's always a pleasure. The food quality is great, and if you really want something that's not on the menu you can usually call ahead and ask.
With the changes my only criticism would be you now have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the same room although it does have a spectacular view. The new addition of the sports bar is great extra space for guests to relax. The bedrooms as always are spacious, light and a touch of luxury. We stayed in the deluxe rooms which are lovely but have looked this way for 10 years.
So from a regular could do with some new updates. There are lots of lovely walks to do from the hotel and surrounding areas. As we took our 22 month old we didn't get chance to go in spar, but from previous visits the outside heated pools are the best especially with the lake view and green fields. The added bonus is if you have a dog they are welcome. Thanks again for a lovely birthday weekend

Had a day spa here, surprised my husband for valentine's. We both loved it. Staff were very attentive and caring, made you feel very special. Enjoyed the facilities, especially the outside hot tubs. The treatments we had were enjoyable especially the toe to toe it was amazing, best massage I've ever had . Had afternoon tea, it's a different style but very enjoyable- wish the scone had jam .

I have been quite a few times to both the spa, hotel and restaurant. The spa is stunning with a great selection of products. I have stopped in the deluxe rooms which over look the lake and have a balcony or patio. They are extremely clean with plenty of space and stunning views. Still privately owned so you often see the owners pottering about. Some great staff. Lovely grounds!

Food is great, rooms are wonderful surroundings are perfect, everything seemed just as one would expect from a country estate "hotel & Spa" except when you discover that the spa is in fact a separate entity. I have stayed in hotel & Spa's around the world including in some of the famous five star locations such as St Davids Hotel & Spa or The Celtic Manner etc and never heard of the concept of hotel guests being charged and additional fee for use of the facilities.
I was absolutely gobsmacked; I am not talking about the usual extra charge for a massage or treatment, no! These people charge you 30 just to use the swimming pool for an hour on top of what you have paid for your room. I genuinely can't believe it, could you imagine staying at a Hilton or Marriott and being told you have to pay extra to use the swimming pool?!?!

Good overall. My wife had a lovely spa and I really enjoyed the off road experience. Re, bar menu, this is very limited, for example, if you want a simple sandwich, they cannot will not serve this which in most four star establishments you would expect especially when the only alternative is afternoon tea with tiny finger sandwiches- be a bit more flexible with the offerings during the day.
In addition, this Hotel relies heavily on wedding parties meaning the already quite small bar area seems to get full of wedding guests making it difficult for ordinary Hotel residents to get service / seating in the bar, they should be accommodated elsewhere

We stayed for a week for our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time. All the staff were very friendly. The location is stunning. Plenty of car parking close to the hotel. Food was excellent and quick to be prepared. Just knocking off one star as the room wasn't that clean and we had some maintenance issues with the bathroom.

The hotel is really nice, our room was very good but some rooms are small. Some rooms have terraces good for smokers to go outside others not. Breakfast was good, service can be hit or miss, ours was great, others waited and waited as they were forgot. Had to ask staff for their breakfast again. Reception was good, overall very good. Parking plentiful on gravel parking area. Hotel has pet friendly rooms.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay here, the location of the hotel is situated in 1400 acres of land and the landscape is stunning. It ticks all the boxes from wanting a relaxing break to trying some country sports. A place I can highly recommend and I will definitely be returning, my next trip here is already booked.
