The food here is excellent. Portions are good and worth the money. We had an engagement celebration meal here where we took 24 people to eat and they only missed one meal that we had to wait for despite pre ordering. I was quite surprised with the amount we spent with then that they didn't even offer a bottle of cheap champagne to celebrate.

We had a faultless stay at the Lister Arms. We were warmly welcomed and check in was a breeze. We stayed in the barn just a short walk from the pub - the room was perfect and the courtyard garden was a bonus for our dog. The food in the pub was excellent and breakfast each morning was very enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all very friendly.

The Lister Arms is exceptionally dog friendly and made our Lab feel very welcome - he is missing his sausage breakfast! We will certainly return - thank you very much for a lovely break away!

Had lunch here today after a walk around the cove. Food was excellent, had the steak and ale pie which was the best pie I've ever tasted. Service was also fantastic and the staff were really friendly. I'd highly recommend a visit.

I have visited the Lister Arms for lunch many times over the last six years whilst walking in The Dale's. As a birthday treat for me we decided to book for a weekend away and it was nothing short of fabulous. We had a room in Lister Barn and it was spotlessly clean, spacious and had everything we needed to make our stay fabulous! From my perspective what really needs to be highlighted is the staff, from the moment we checked in, dinner and breakfast service they work so hard to make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend The Lister more highly for a lunch stop or a fabulous weekend away.thank you The Lister Arms we will be back!

Lunch out in the beautiful Yorkshire Dale's. We both had the large beer battered fish and chips with mushy peas and we shared a sticky toffee pudding. Superb food, top quality friendly service and a real pleasure. Yorkshire at its most magnificent

After a very cold & snowy walk around Malham, we found this pub and was lucky to grab a table for 2 in front of the beautiful log fire. We both had a meal and some drinks. The food that was served was absolutely beautiful and well worth the price. The only issue we found with this Pub/hotel was the front of house female worker. She was very rude and abrupt to people walking in.

Also her mannerism's came across like anything you asked her was an issue. This being said all of the other front of house staff, from the bartenders to the waiters were absolutely impeccable and I would certainly pop in here again on my next visit to Malham.

Stopped in for lunch after a walk. Lovely country pub. Big open fire as you come in. We had a bacon and blue cheese burger, chicken burger, and kids fish and chips, all really good. Onion rings amazing, proper home made. Burgers are thick and quality meat. Chicken tender and crispy. Fries also good. Good selection of ales. Staff friendly and helpful. A little bit pricey but to be expected in Malham. Often busy, we got lucky to get a table walking in.

What a lovely pub. Our overnight stay was perfect and the meals were delicious. What really made our stay memorable was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, especially the manageress who went out of her way to make our stay fab. What a great asset to have at the Lister arms

What a find! We had the most amazing stay. Our room was fabulous, rustic and traditional design with luxury superking bed and top quality linen. We had drinks and dinner in the pub. Warm and welcoming greeting from staff, and wonderful log fires. Breakfast was perfect too. Homemade bread, full Yorkshire breakfast. We hated leaving.

A nice 'traditional' style countryside pub. Went in after a winter walk in Jan 2022 and had a lovely beer from a local brewery - a Settle Blonde! The food people were eating looked good, but there were no tables left so couldn't try the food, other than a portion of chips while sitting outside (which were nice!).

Of the two pub choices in Malham The Lister Arms is by far the most stylish - a lovely old building which has been updated so that it retains much of its original charm. There are three "rooms" in the pub area and a separate dedicated restaurant area. We had taken the precaution of booking a table for two in the restaurant area at 8pm on Wednesday evening which was wise as it was a busy evening.

We were given a friendly but somewhat harassed greeting by one of the young waiting staff. After a long day walking we were hungry so we made our choices quickly from the well priced, for Malham, and good looking menu which was made up in the main of "pub classics" Sensing that things might be going slight off the rails in the kitchen we ordered a cold starter of smoked salmon in the hope that this might be served relatively quickly while I had the sirloin steak for my main and B went for the gammon with bubble and squeak.

I won't drag this sorry tale out but our starter never did arrive, we were offered two sets of dishes destined for other tables and our main courses took over an hour to arrive. When we finally did get to eat our supper it was tasty and well presented (possibly helped by the fact that we had drunk a bottle of wine while waiting). When the guy behind the bar asked if we had enjoyed the meal I mentioned the problems with service: he shrugged and said it was a busy night in the kitchen due to a large number of "walk in" diners.

In my naivete I thought that a booking system was designed to avoid such difficulties and indicate when the kitchen was at capacity point - not at The Lister Arms unfortunately.

Impressive building with attractive interior. Small selection of beers of which one was off but no-one had bothered to spin the label around. Staff were universally sour-faced and unhelpful. The woman we tried to give our food order to stood holding a pad of paper but insisted she couldn't take the order and we'd have to return in 10 minutes as orders had to go through "live to the kitchen".

We asked why she couldn't write the order down on her pad and take it through in 10 minutes but to no avail. We didn't understand this and walked down to The Buck Inn. I recommend you do the same.

When you've hiked and tromped through the hills and fields of Malham, there is no better reward than grabbing a bite and a brew from the Lister Arms. Originally built in 1723 as a 4 bedroom house, this pub/ bed & breakfast is a the perfect place to get a 'little more than your average' pub fare after a jaunt through the Yorkshire Dales.

I was there this past March and enjoyed the rustic atmosphere, the vast beer selection (including Thwaites and Wainright) and some perfectly prepared steak and kidney pie. The staff is pleasant and the service was good. This is one of the few places in the village to get a beer and a bite. and if you're lucky enough to get here in the spring or summer and walk the hills, it's likely that while your dining at The Lister Arms that the families of ducks outside the window will keep you entertained. They certainly kept my attention.

The Listers is a great pub, with nicer than average rooms, quite modern with a bit of character. Great beers (Thwaites) and lovely food- you get a table in the residents bar/restaurant if you are staying. Big roaring open fire in the Winter, and pretty village, all in walking distance of the awesome Malham Cove, and Gordale Scar, an impressive waterfall crashing through a spectacular rocky cleft.

You can take in both in a walk from the pub, with some great views out over the Yorkshire Dales. Book well in advance! Great weekend away venue, and a more luxurious alternative to the nearby campsite!
