Rosedale Hotel The idyllic Rosedale Hotel is situated on the harbour front of the beautiful Highland town of Portree, the capital of Skye. The Hotel was originally the houses inhabited by the fishermen of Portree, some dating as far back as the reign of William IV. The development over the years has made this into a modern, comfortable hotel.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff were all very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with great views. Didn't get a chance to have supper as they were booked. Not really any parking but that is a problem for all of the harbour area. Great place. Highly recommend.

Fantastic food, we had the seafood risotto which was extra savory and the hake, beautifully cooked and perfectly balanced with the cream sauce and bright veggies. Rounded off with the best sticky toffee pudding we've ever tried. Service was wonderful and cheery and made our experience one to remember!

Fantastic location and views. I travelled on my own to Portree recently and ended up dining here both nights. The staff were amazing even finding me some binoculars to look for the seals.! The food was amazing real quality. Local produce and made with love. Definitely go!

Worst restaurant I've ever been to 25 for 4 small pieces of venison covered in a horrific mixture of pumpkin and blackberries, then another 5 just for a small pot of lukewarm burnt chips. Hostile staff and very limited selection of alcohol. Would not recommend.

Quality restaurant and hotel. Delicious food and drink in a prime location. There are some quirks to the hotel (the layout of the bath made "showering" difficult, lots of stairs and possibly some other accessibility challenges) but overall a good stay.

The best eating since we moved from London a year and half ago! We are very picky dinners but didn't have much to pick on here. the food was well cooked, well seasoned, very substantial portions and looked beautiful. Too beautiful to take pic before digging in. Fish soup starter was gorgeously seasoned hot bowl full of fish, mussels and prawns and few tatties on top.

We've shared it but both got lots of seafood! For mains I've got Hake with mussel mash and cabbage and again all components were well cooked and we'll seasoned. I wouldn't have thought to add mussels in mash but it worked great especially with that delicious sauce on top. My partner had duck with kale, locally for aged winter chanterelles, pumpkin and croquette made of duck something.

All parts of the dish were really good as well. All dishes were well thought out and perfectly BALANCED. Shout out to your chefs! Finished the meal with a pot of peppermint tea and sticky toffee pudding. If one should be really critical - the ice-cream was a bit too cold and hard to scoop with a spoon All staff were very polite and helpful and the atmosphere was nice too with elevated deviders between tables for covid safety. Hope to be back soon

Excellent position, Excellent View, Breakfast and Restaurant Staff Great! Very poor customer relations! No evening meal offered although available! TAPAS no longer available! Had 2 single bed rooms booked for 2 nights with a tour company, only 1 room required as our friends could not make it, charged an extra 25 per night for a double, even though the other was not occupied and probably resold!

Price on booking.com 150, our price 175! had to the difference even though the other room was free! 2nd morning tried to book for breakfast only 7am available!, JOKE!, however they did find an 8.30 table after complaint! If you want the tourists back you need to try better, NEW MANAGEMENT, not good enough!

The staff are so welcoming, friendly, helpful and flexible. They really went above and beyond. The location is the perfect base for exploring and there are loads of places to eat nearby. The hotel restaurant serves really fresh and delicious produce, for both dinner and breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and the harbour view from our room/the restaurant was such a pleasant surprise!

The hotel feels slightly dated in areas and there were a few minor issues such as the toilet seat was broken in our room and the hotel toilet. But this didn't matter or affect our stay. There were lots of little touches that made our stay here so memorable and special. Would return!

We enjoyed an excellent dinner here. Both the seafood (scallops with bacon and black pudding for starter and cod with mussels and celeriac puree for the main) and the meat (venison) were delicious. Moreover, the service was excellent. Gracious waiter who was very nice and attentive. All that topped by a lovely view over the harbour from our first floor window. Highly recommend!
