Flodigarry has been a Country House Hotel since 1928. Although substantially upgraded over the years the hotel's traditional Highland character has been retained so that today guests can truly enjoy homely Scottish 4 star comfort in a 10 star location. Flodigarry Hotel provides an excellent choice of eighteen en-suite bedrooms to suit most requirements.

My sister and I were booked in a room for 3 nights (Tues, Wed, Thur night) at around $400/night. It was our most expensive booking for our trip to Scotland. It was a beautiful location, to be sure. However, I had an emergency with my pregnancy (a concern that the water might have broken somewhat), so I had to make an emergency run to the clinic on Skye.
They wanted to follow-up with me in Inverness the following day. So we had to shorten our time on Skye. Knowing that I'd not be able to take advantage of our Thur night booking, I called at 2pm on Wednesday to ask if we could get a refund for our final night, hoping that by calling so early, it would give them a chance to open the booking and at least try to replace my booking.
The manager wasn't interested in even trying to do this for me. Having a medical concern while pregnant in a foreign country is difficult enough, but the additional burden of double booking for very expensive accommodations was disappointing.

Our 4-nights at the Flodigarry House was the highlight of our time on Skye and in Scotland (we were only supposed to stay 2 but extended!). We stayed in the Lady junior suite, which was just so comfortable and also very cool! We loved having the large bathroom and bathtub, and we enjoyed the front porch and lawn which really made it feel like we had our own cottage separate from the main hotel.
The manager and chef were a delight to talk to each night at dinner, and every one of our meals here was just easily some of the best food we have ever have! The location is also fantastic for lots of the local sights - or just walking out the hotel down to the rocky beach or for a coastline hike. Truly, this was such a fantastic experience and we will certainly be back again. Thank you!

Drove a considerable distance to get there to be told there was no afternoon tea (referred to erroneously as high tea) as we hadn't booked. Place like a morgue. What I remember fondly as a beautiful country house serving gorgeous afternoon teas, has been destroyed. Fireplaces torn out and nasty decoration throughout. Heart breaking.

Three stars is 'good', two stars is 'ok and here's why. Hotel has a good feel and staff are friendly and efficient. Worth a visit just to look at ceiling in the bar. Bizarrely they would not let us into Restuarant in our socks (having hiked first day of Skye Trail). Room wasn't that clean tbh and food under delivers. No cake or biscuits at tea - I'd expect that for a place charging nearly 500 for dinner, B&B.
At dinner both our fish mains were badly overcooked and rest was a bit hit and miss. Normally we'd be ok with variable standard is a remote place but at the prices being charged it simply has to be spot on. You can only rack up the prices if you can deliver on all fronts and unfortunately Flodigarry doesn't.

Went to the restaurant and bar last week and had the most amazing food made by Miles, who is an incredible chef and has a great taste. The bar side is warm, welcoming and has a few really good beers on tap. The bartender, Anisah was very friendly and polite and had great recommendations of what to try. The whole experience was really positive and I would go back in a flash. The only thing I would say is that it would be nice to have french fries on the menu? Thank you guys heaps!

We just had a meal here with the family - fantastic location first of all, wow. The restaurant is also amazingly decorated, enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the bar, they took time to accommodate all of us (I have a large family). Dinner was great, staff welcoming and took time to discuss menu, answer questions from kids, very relaxed atmosphere. We didn't feel rushed to power through our meal so the next reservation can come in - this is unfortunately becoming a very common practice (for example, we were practically kicked out of Dulse and Brose in Portree, a very tasteless restaurant). A big thanks for the staff at Skye for a memorable family dinner.

The scones we had were lovely but the place seems set up to purposefully deter visitors - we were greeted by a sign stating reservations only (relating to the main restaurant), it really wouldn't be difficult to signpost visitors to the bar. We were directed by a member of staff that we could buy sandwiches in the bar, but once we finally were served only scones and drinks were available.
A friend was brought a pot of tea without any milk being provided and it took an unacceptable amount of time to resolve. Staff then prioritised a private chat over taking payment. All in all really poor customer service.

I love hotels! I'm always searching for that special historic building in an isolated place with spectacular scenery. The Flodigarry is certainly all of this! Set like a jewel near the shore at the foot of the Quirang, the views are truly spectacular. We went for the Mary Queen of Scots room. It's pricey, but to wake up and go to sleep with that beautiful view was worth the splurge.
We felt like it was a real haven to come home to. With quick access to the Quirang (we hiked from the hotel, and also drove the inspiring road to the top) and a 20 minute drive to the Old Man of Storr car park, it was very convenient. I highly recommend driving the single track road through the Quirang and into Uig. Beautiful! The perfect blend of solitude and convenience.
The staff were lovely, accommodating, and so kind. We never ate at the restaurant because we prefer to eat earlier, but breakfasts were tasty and nicely presented. I'll never forget those morning sunrises! My only suggestion is a warmer sense of welcome. We had to go hunting for someone to check us in. But once we found them, they couldn't have been nicer.
