The hotel was good value for money, we ate breakfast each morning, this was of a good standard. Twice we had an evening meal, the menu was limited, but food was good. The staff were most helpful, indoor swimming pool good, the hotel seemed to be well maintained & would definitely stay on another occasion.

Lovely Hotel in an amazing location! Rooms are a little dated but spotlessly clean. Was given a free upgrade to Seaview room with balcony! (see photo) Breakfast service was a little hit and miss. It felt a little rushed and wasn't given a menu or much choice of cooked options although plenty of choice for fruit, yoghurt etc. Pool and Jacuzzi an addled bonus! Not massive but again, well looked after. Would stay again

Probably the best customer service ever! I booked this hotel for 3 nights for my parents birthday. It turns out that my parents were not able to make it. I used booking.com to make all the arrangements. I realised that the booking for this hotel was non-refundable and I would have to pay a lot of money for cancellation as part of their non-refund cancellation policy.
I did request for a waiver cancellation so that they can possibly reduce the price of the cancellation. I then phoned the hotel. They were very friendly and kind to help me discard the cancellation policy and send me a refund on top. Overall this hotel has probably the best customer service. I would like to also say that the hotel receptionists David and Alex have taken care of this whole situation predominantly well. Cheers to you's two!

Visited here with a coach holiday company. Location- if walking into Bournemouth it's about a good 20 minute walk from the hotel along the sea front. Walked in. There is a local bus and taxi service available. Used taxi to return- 8.20 for the 2 of us. Room was clean and presentable. Only negative was - 12 seated at my table, couldn't move arms to eat and drink at meal times!
Excellent breakfast, service and swimming pool facilities. Spa and gym also on site but didn't use. Room checked and restocked every day. Would visit again and recommend. It's just a shame it's so far from the town centre.

Great hotel, a little tired in its decor but perfectly OK. The disabled room we had was very good, just a little difficult to get to it in a wheelchair as the corridors and doorways are quite tight. The food was very good and drinks at the bar were very reasonably priced. There are disabled parking spaces right next to the entrance which was very welcome. All in all I would definitely recommend it and will be returning myself soon

OMG. Only booked this hotel because it allows dogs but we won the lottery. What stands out is how exceptionally clean it is. It is old school but quality. We had a large balcony with a sea view. We were 5 minutes walk to the beach and Tropical gardens and in a quiet residential road. We didn't use half of the facilities because of commitments visiting our daughter at uni bit we are making a point of returning so that we can. What a find!

We loved it here last year but if this had been the first time we had visited, I don't think we would come back. Only good thing was the reception staff were lovely. The room (116) was far too warm, even with the window open and the fan on. It was also far too small to be a twin. You couldn't open a wardrobe door fully due to the bed, you couldn't use the desk (put your legs under it) because of the other bed.
If one person wanted to get ready the other had to sit on the bed so the person getting ready could move around the room. The bed by the window was extremely soft and moved about a lot (good job I don't get sea sick). The toilet often took 3 attempts to flush (even a "wee" took the same amount of flushes as the more solid toilet needs). So onto the food - well what can I say about it?
It was a HUGE disappoint compared to last year. On Tuesday I was the first in the dining room and heard a member of staff ask the people who came in after me if they would like a drink - they politely declined and off the staff member went, didn't even ask me if I wanted one DESPITE the fact that he passed the table I was seated at on his way wherever he was going. Wednesday we were given the wrong starters - how I have no idea as we filled in the "menu choices" earlier that morning and only one diner at our table got her starter right.
The ones that had fish told me it was tasteless but they managed to eat some of theirs. I had the BEEF - it was "cooked" on the top but RED on the bottom. I could hardly cut it yet alone chew it. I decided to leave it rather than ask for it to be recooked. HOWEVER when SERENA STEVENS came to take our plates, her look of disgust at the amount I left was HORRIFYING.
I felt like saying "I've paid, so if I want to leave it all I can do". We had to ask for tea and coffee that night too, although the other diners had had theirs. The coffee for myself came out in a communal flask NOT in a coffee pot unlike the tea which came in a pot (although did have the knob on top missing). At Thursday breakfast the mushrooms were actually stone cold - considering I was near the front of the queue they shouldn't have been that cold at all.
When we had our evening meal, we found that the Cottage Pie (slapped on the plate) was rather dry so asked for some gravy. Apparently the member of staff didn't like that, and said "You want some GRAVY?" as if we'd asked for a baby elephant to ride home on the following day

It's average at best! +1300 for a week for two adults, booked via booking.com the rating of 8.3 out of 10 in my opinion is very generous! We were not informed that we would be staying in the apartments until we had signed the paper work and parted with the 1300 quid The apartments are honestly somewhere to put your head for the night they do not come with room service as standard, when the rest of the hotel does!, if you want fresh towels.or bedding even toilet roll you have to call reception a little bit "morning campers!" We are talking 6 apartments when the rest of a 100 room + hotel has room service as standard!?
In the evenings there is no atmosphere at all so make sure you have got plenty to talk about or not fallen out as it will be a long night! in my opinion, it's just average it's clean staff are approachable, that should be standard parking is very limited, suppose if was below average it would be a block of flats by now it's a 5/10 hotel not an 8.3 or at 4.2 on Google

We have been Bournemouth in the summer holiday time in August.we got last minutes booking for pets friendly hotel and they were almost very very expensive with no family room. We were very lucky to have one family room left include breakfast in the Riviera Hotel and apartment with very good price that we couldn't find in all others hotel. It is very good location only few minutes walk from hotel to the beach with nice viewing and good playground for children It's 3star hotel but everything was amazing here.
It was truly very good breakfast as they said. They have good facilities for family entertainment, the rooms is very good size and spotless clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We 100% recommend this hotel and we are absolutely returning here and try their apartment in every next our short break in Bournemouth
