There's always something happening at The Red Cow, whether you're sport crazy, a live music fanatic, love the craic or just like a nice drink out. The Red Cow covers all the bases. We always have a changing selection of hand pulled ales, but the house favourite Young's Bitter 'Ordinary' is always top of the bill. When it comes to wine, we would never expect our guests to have anything pass their lips that we wouldn't enjoy ourselves! After a long day you'll appreciate your cosy country-style bedroom and can choose from twin, double or our family room.
Services
Always alternating between our Brilliant Local Brewers Twickenham Fine Ales, Sambrooks, Wimbeldon and Surrey Hills Brewery are some of our front runners. Young's Brewery, just five miles away, has a long association with many pubs around Richmond. The Red Cow began taking delivery of Young's barrels and bottles in the 1830's and their award-winning beers - Young's Ordinary and Special - along with Young's craft IPA can be ordered over the bar right now.Young's seasonal beers include Waggledance (a summer favourite) and for chilly winter months a Winter Warmer and a place by the roaring fire go down well.

Love this pub. Atmosphere is fab. People are friendly and relaxed. You can bring your own food and eat indoors or outdoors. Very busy and has a live band. Only disadvantage is, the place is small! So be aware if you are claustrophobic and don't mind being in someone's personal space because this place gets heaving!

Arrived late on a Saturday after a picnic on Richmond Green and drinks at a bar on the river. People wanted to go there bc of good live music. True to word a 4 piece band and singers where belting well known/ loved tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The mainly 45 plus crowd who were singing along and dancing there hearts out. Bar service fast and friendly.
Friendly talking people, likely a great place to make new friends and perhaps even rarer, to meet a significant other if your over 45. I'll be back. What's not to love. I highly recommend!

First time at the Red Cow, went solely for the live band playing from 9pm. So pleased we did, what a band & pub is great too, with a fantastic vibe. Lovely little seating area outside. So.one week later, went on a Saturday afternoon. different story.3 old red faced men sitting around the bar, no vibe, no atmosphere, just a dive for drunks. Without the live band on a Saturday night & Sunday afternoon this pub would close down.

So we booked a table for 19:30 and arrived 15 minutes late because of train delays and our table was subsequently given away. The older waitress was incredibly rude and quite frankly a little bit drunk. We waited 45 minutes before we were finally seated (with little to no help from the staff). When we asked for food, they said they had run out of food.
We had previously had a text message conversation with the staff telling them about the delay and what food was available. On arriving the staff denied that this had ever happened. They essentially lied to us and they treated us really badly. We have never ever been so disappointed, we definitely don't recommend this place to anyone.

Nice sunny and bright corner pub with a slightly unusual layout that I rather liked. There is some nice outside space out by the kerb too. There was a screen in-obtrusively churning out sports results like it was financial news My Ale, Twickenham Naked Ladies was OK, but nowhere near as exciting as it sounds!

I really enjoyed my stay with the folks at The Red Cow. They were attentive without being obvious, very kind. The room was lovely and well appointed, I especially appreciated the large closet and en suite (being an American :) ). If you are noise sensitive you might find the road noise or pub below (at least during the footie) distracting, but it is, after all, a pub, and that is part of the charm. I will be back!

Appealingly-decorated pub featuring sludgey neutral tones with covetable, old, London Transport posters promoting the joys of Richmond. There are plenty of interestingly diverse little seating areas; if you want to watch sport you'll need to place yourself close to the entrance. However, it comes into its own when there's a live gig here: very animated and friendly - if a little close for comfort when too many enthusiasts feel the urge to get up and dance I visited on a Saturday night with a large group; luckily we managed to reserve the comfortable seating area at the back - a banquette/sofa with a tapestry/kasbah theme and lots of taupe leather cubes - much to the envy of many other punters.
We enjoyed dipping into the sharing platters, although they were far from memorable or exceptional, they served their purpose and fitted the bill perfectly for a chilled weekend evening. Three and a half stars?.

Around halfway between Richmond and North Sheen stations, and perched on Sheen Road with a precariously thin pavement, The Red Cow is a good bet if you're desperately scouring Richmond for a place to see some live sport. From cricket to football, rugby to F1 (yawn.well maybe not next week), it's all on here. The pub has an interesting long thin layout, all one room but with an old central bar arrangement, which I really like. There's a good mix of young and old regulars, and some outside seating too - although Sheen Road is so busy you probably don't want to sit there. The Youngs is reasonably well kept although as ever the choice isn't mind blowing, bitter and special are always on, and maybe a guest.
