A small family-run hotel two minutes away from the sea. The Poplars first opened as a hotel in 1929 and has been totally refurbished by the present resident proprietors, Jean and Cliff Jefferies. The Poplars is a very spacious property in an exceptional setting, overlooking the bay in Combe Martin. The accommodation offers: a large dining room; a spacious and well equipped lounge and bar; a TV and Video lounge; a games room with a pool table, other games and books; and has eleven well equipped bedrooms.

We found this hidden gem a few weeks ago while we were staying for a friend's wedding. Jan and Neill are just the loveliest people and they have done such a brilliant job of making this such a wonderful place to stay! We loved it so much we even came back this week to stay again! The breakfast is amazing and the rooms are so comfortable. Thanks so much guys, we will definitely be back!

We had a lovely nights stay. Janet the host is wonderful. Our room was very comfortable- great bed, fabulous shower! The Guest House is freshly renovated and has very good ambience. Congratulations to Janet & Neil. And breakfast was superb! I highly recommend a stay here. PS- if available, ask for the ocean view rooms with balconies. Superb views!

Decided to stay here for a long needed weekend away, and we were blown away with this place. Janet and Niell made us feel incredibly welcome, the room was perfect, along with the food and other facilities. Such a short walk from the village and beach, too. Will absolutely be staying here again next summer and totally recommend staying here!

Lovely stay with the new and attentive owners Janet and Niell. We called two days before and a room was available which was lucky. The rooms look gorgeous with lovely classic furnishings. En suit was decent size and clean. Bedroom comfortable and clean. Breakfast was lovely the next morning- offering cold options (fruit/yogurt) as well as hot- English breakfast. Lovely breakfast. Fantastic new owners pouring their energy back into the hotel which has sparkling new rooms, beautifully decorated. The Victorian windows and balcony are a delight to enjoy this seaside town. Even though this is only B&B the owners could not have been more helpful offering us a meal when we arrived in late from walking when they really didn't need to. Good luck to this new venture, I'm so pleased we got to be one of the first guests. Thank you.
