We stayed in the coachouse which is newer than the main building. Room was really nice. Bathroom superb and bed firm and comfy. Room was very warm will inadequate ventilation, we had to have the fan going all the time. Breakfast every morning was superb and loads of choice. We had 2 meals in the Fat Abbott and both were very good though the choice was limited.
The specials board didn't change all the time we were there! Location and the look of the place is fantastic. 2 minor moans, our greeting was a bit flat, didn't seem overly pleased to see us. Also is 2 toilet rolls going to last 2 people almost 5 days? No replacement tea or coffee, toilet rolls or clean towels. I would have thought at least one replenish would have been good. I would come back as location to go exploring Yorkshire was exactly what we required.

Lovely building and grounds. Our room was very dated and though large felt poorly thought out. It is clear that the hotel has a lot of very inexperienced, young, staff and they need much more training and supervision. Outside areas were piled high with used glasses. Not pleasant to sit there. Breakfast was excellent but again service lacks finesse.

3rd time here & it won't be the last! Extremely helpful & friendly staff, comfortable bed & a beautiful setting. Very reasonably priced too, especially considering the facilities. The food is also far, far better than you'd get at a "chain" hotel - particular mention of the breakfast ! Only thing I would wish for is for some "Dog Friendly" rooms - that would make The Parsonage perfect!

We expected a evening arrival, so called in advance to check when the restaurant was open until, we were told the kitchen closes at 9pm. We arrived at 8.30pm and decided to get food before checking in. We were then told the kitchen was already closed, I explained we had called to check and was told 9pm. The restaurant team did accommodate us, but it did appear it was an inconvenience!
However the food was very good. We checked in and our bedrooms were in the old part of the building and they were a bit shabby, not similar to the photos on Google or the hotels website. The rooms were very warm but the small windows did open to get some fresh air. The bathroom looked good with a shower and bath. This looked recently renovated. The bed was very comfy and nice pillows, the bed was more of a 3/4 and not a double.
Breakfast was excellent, good selection of food and drinks, all three waitress were friendly, chatty and helpful. We visited the spa which was very good, steam room, jacuzzi, swimming pool and sauna, a lovely way to spend two or three hours. We ate again at the Fat Abbott restaurant, earlier than the previous evening and again food was once again very good.
All in all it was a pleasant stay, would I stay again "Yes" but would request a room in the newer block. The staff are lovely, the building is lovely, but the bedrooms do need a makeover.

I've stayed many times here and look forward to spending time relaxing and unwinding however on ringing to book recently was told I'd have to pay a 50 supplement as I would be on my own. This hasn't happened before I'm sure and I feel like I'm being discriminated against for booking as a single person. Your deals are not deals with a 50 supplement on top! Needless to say I didn't book this time and I'm not sure I'll be back at this rate. So sad.

Just back from a lovely relaxing spa break at this hotel. The afternoon tea was possibly the best I've had with home made scones, cake and macaroons and a lovely choice is sandwich's, the staff were friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and the rooms were well presented. I would recommend a stay here.

We booked the Absolute Spa Ritual for 2 people and when we arrived we were asked if we had also booked the spa facilities, we said no as I thought that the spa day would include these, we were told the facilities were extra 27 each to which we queried that a 130 treatment package should be included and the lady on reception queried this with another member of staff and said as were not busy today we will include this for free but if we returned again we would have to pay for it! this put a bit of a downer on our day.
There was also a bit of confusion on when to get changed. We were sat in reception and then asked to follow a member of staff and to our surprise me and my wife were shown into different rooms for our treatments, I would have thought we might be in the same room. Once in the room I was asked if I wanted a normal facial or pay extra for the Elemis products, I had no clue what the difference was so just said the normal but my wife was also asked and apparently when we queried the facilities the receptionist mentioned we had the Elemis facial treatment, so she told the member of staff she wanted the Elemis and I presume I got the normal treatment.
I also agree that the room wasn't soundproofed and you could hear everything in the corridor outside and also the window was open so I could hear a lot of traffic noise and people parking up and having conversations. Once we had our treatment and back in reception my wife was talking to the gym manager who was apologising for the mix up and that the facilities are included in the spa days and he would get us 2 glasses of prosecco to have with our lunch. Gary the gym manager then showed us the changing areas and facilities and was really helpful and the rest of the day was really nice. Also, I thought I would mention that lunch is served in the hotel so you have to walk back outside and round to the hotel entrance.

We celebrated our wedding here back in October and haven't stopped talking about this venue and the staff since. It's true what they say, a venue really does make or break a wedding. From the first email to the next day when we was checking out we was treated with care and respect and nothing was too much trouble. Louise helped us throughout our whole wedding planning, answering questions at god knows what time and putting us at ease throughout the whole of Lockdown.
The venue is stunning, and since the recent renovation the reception room was perfect for our day. Throughout our day we was cared for by Michail (apologies if this is spelt incorrectly) and it ran perfectly, his kindness and professionalism showed all day, he gave a gentle guiding hand every step of the way. We could feel the excitement and happiness that all the staff felt for us, which we will be forever grateful for.

A little disappointed with lack of signs for spa. Had to leave hotel in the cold air to access spa. Also difficult getting to the pool area, disability. There was a lift going down, but going up to pool area, steps which might be suitable for all. Rooms/staff/cleanliness /food amazing. Also suggest refundable 10. 00 for robe, slippers, towel.?

Would give 100 stars for the service food and hotel. As I am coeliac always worry when going away for food. First time in a long time I have actually relaxed being away. They couldn't be more helpful and had a great big selection on the menu for me to eat. Breakfast also specially built and it was more than eggs on toast. A very happy relaxed customer. Would stay again.

I stayed here with my partner Saturday night, the customer service was very good and the lady at reception was very welcoming and professional, the reason that this hotel drops points is due to the room we stayed in, on entering it smelt old and damp, the interior was really run down and could do with some love, the ceiling was flaky and the blinds were stained, the most important thing when staying at a hotel for me is a comfortable bed and a clean room, the bed really lost points here as I have never slept on something so uncomfortable in my life.
Also for cleanliness, I didnt feel like the room was very clean, especially due to the fact the toilet had not been flushed and it had urine in it from the last guests. Overall this hotel really needs some money invested, the hotel seems like its got the potential but the rooms scream neglect, please focus on upgrading the carpets, getting rid of the damp, get a new mattress and freshen up the decor.
