This large, elegant Victorian hotel is typical of many Bath houses - superbly positioned and built of the honey-coloured stone for which the City is famous. The house is beautifully furnished with modern features, yet still retains its original character. Situated 10 minutes walk to the city centre and Bath Thermae Spa with it's own private car park, Oldfields is the perfect choice for a visit to Bath.

We stayed here for my partners birthday. We absolutely loved it. From arrival to leaving, the service was excellent. The rooms are spacious and charming. Everything was so clean and tidy. The breakfast was amazing. Again the service was top notch. Would highly recommend a stay here. Only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Bath very good value for money.

Ah Room 15. If you are a writer or a poet, a photographer, a couple of lovebirds, or perhaps someone who just longs for some peace and quiet to rest and/or recuperate. Then Room 15 is for you. 15 is a very private, very cosy room at the very top of this stairs at the back of Oldfields House - it is just the right size to make you feel snug and insulated, yet not so small as to induce claustrophobia. Sparingly and elegantly decorated in pale yellows and golds, 15 promises to be a good and non-interfering friend.
There is a wall mounted TV, a tiny cordless kettle which comes with a supply of Earl Grey and English Breakfast teas, sugars and milk. A bottle of locally sourced mineral water comes with compliments of the house. The en-suit bathroom is well laid out - towels are heated on the radiator. The shower is a nice size (will fit 2 if you're after a bit of romance) and pressure is just right. Taps were a bit baffling at first, but once mastered was easy to operate and there were no sudden hot surprises which seems to be the scourge of most rooms in top floors.
There is a very comfy armchair which i found quite useful when putting on my hiking boots. 15 has an AC unit, but we never used it - the single window provided us with enough cool and fresh air, and if we got too cold we simply closed it. Falling asleep to the sound of rain pelting the window pane was just as lovely as waking up to sound of gulls laughing as they circle Bath and the River Avon.
Silence is golden. Breakfast was a lovely affair - the menu had something for everyone. I tried the Full English Breakfast (no black pudding) which was very nice - just enough to fill you up, as well as the Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon - loved that too. The Dining Room is elegant in white and pale golds, and the 3 windows afford views of the Royal Crescent on the other side of the valley.
A number of delightful teas are served and you will find orange juice, apple juice and lemon water at the breakfast bar along with muesli, fresh fruit, natural yoghurt, weetabix and cornflakes. There is also a bar (drinks orders are charged to your room) as well as an elegant sitting room with plush armchairs arranged round an open fireplace. Glass of cognac anyone.?
Staff were very friendly - couldn't do enough for us and yes they were never intrusive. Casey is the lovely lady who met us when we arrived - made us feel very welcome. Of course there are scuffs here and there - but everything is absolutely spotlessly clean, and the gardens are beautifully maintained. I can recommend and would love to stay in 15 again if I'm visiting Bath again.

Great location just 10/15 minutes walk to city centre. We chose Oldfield's House as they offer onsite parking. So glad we did for a number of reasons. Really delicious breakfast, plenty of choice. The staff are all lovely. Gorgeous room with garden view and very comfortable four poster bed. My only gripe is that there was no vanity mirror in the room. The only mirror was in the en suite which as everyone knows is not suitable for doing hair or applying makeup when steamed up after using the shower or bath.

Can't fault the staff, excellent, thank you. Do not stay in room 8, the staff call this the Harry Potter room as it is under the stairs, dark and the only view is onto a small paved area with A/C fans. The decorations are somewhat shabby with a cracked sink and several broken tiles in the en suite. Oh yes and you are woken at around 7am by the kitchen staff preparing breakfast in the adjoining kitchen and the room is then filled with the smells of food preparation!
When we complained to the manager at the end of our stay he wasn't too concerned and certainly offered no apology. Saying that, however, the location was great for Bath and we did not let the shabby little room affect our stay, just be warned!

Good location next to centre of Bath, I was happy that it had parking as well! The accomodation was quite basic, one of the bulbs in my room didn't work and the private bathroom door didn't shut as I was told it broke previously. The room itself was quite warm but you don't have much choice as if you open the windows it can get noisy. Overall okay for a night stay in a central location.

This Victorian house turned into a B&B is situated in a quiet spot about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. No need to use the car in Bath if staying here. The room was pretty amazing and spotless. Ensuite and tea/coffee facilities. It also had a dvd player as well as a stereo! It has a lovely living room area where you can just sit and relax and enjoy your tea if you wish! Good options in terms of breakfast. Staff was very nice

We really liked this hotel room. The hotel is at the top of a hill that will take you right into the city (there is a bus also). It is a short walk but if you are not in good shape, it could be tough. I think all the rooms have a jacuzzi bath which was nice. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. The breakfast was good also. Lots of choices, drinks and fruit and the staff was so friendly.
We came early and they let us check in because our room was ready and she gave us great directions and some suggestions. Your room key also has coupons to local spots in bath which we did not use but there were some good deals.

We were placed here after an error in the computer registration system of the owners' related property, Bath Paradise House, and were given a Sunday/Monday night rate of 100 pounds as a concession. The property was lovely, rooms were comfortable and breakfast was delicious and promptly served. Staff is warm, gracious and helpful. The property was full.
If you arrive by car or use a car when in Bath, choose a compact or subcompact - the on-site car park is quite small, merely a large driveway. Property is a 10 minute walk from town center and pubs; the return walk is uphill but not difficult. Lacks the views of Paradise House, except in the more posh Room 10, but it is closer to town center.
