The Old Bridge Hotel

Great outdoor space makes this one of the only places other than The Postcard to enjoy a decent amount of daylight. However, the space isn't as safe for kids as one would like and the service in the past has always lacked. Room for improvement in regards to service. Food is decent however I always come away feeling The Old Bridge could be better. Go for it - up your game in regards to service and welcoming.

We we're recommend this place, so chose it over other nearby options. The soft drink selection was great - nice choice of ginger beer for example. Otherwise, pretty poor choice of beers considering there's a local brewery bar within 30 seconds walk. The selection of food was exactly as you'd expect - perhaps a bit limited even. If I was being charitable I'd say familiar, if I was feeling mean I'd say uninspired.

When the food arrived, it was a bit bland and quite unexciting. The chips were nice, to be fair, but if that's the best I can say I'm left feeling a bit deflated. I had a burger which was really subpar, which is a shame considering there's a great local burger joint very close. It was served with a slightly stale and wilted salad. We decided to skip desert.

Service was bad - I think the management left a few inexperienced and overtaxed staff to cover way too much. I don't blame them, I think they were left unsupported. We wouldn't come back and wouldn't recommend it to others. We paid about 50 quid for two mains and a few drinks, which felt a bit much considering the experience we had.

Had a pleasant one night stay, bed and breakfast. The room could have done with a deep clean, the TV was on a non adjustable bracket that made it difficult to see from the of the far side of the bed. Nice bathroom with a bath which my wife loves. Breakfast was table service and very nice apart from the bacon which had obviously been cooked for a long while. These are small, hopefully constructive comments and we would definitely recommend it as a place to stay when visiting Holmfirth.

Definitely my favorite place to stay in the entire area. Staff is amazing the rooms are comfortable and the food is great. Holmfirth it self has a lot to offer for visitors. Once u get in to town and park your car u never need it again as there is so much to do in such a small area. I highly recommend the Old Bridge.

Be going occasionally for years and never been disappointed. It's a little more expensive but got 3 meals and drinks at a fair price. Food well presented and and tasty. Service straight forward friendly and how it should be. Recommended.

We have two nut roasts for Sunday lunch. Hadn't booked and they were pretty much full but we managed to find a table in the bar side and they were happy for us to order from the main menu. Huge portion and delicious, veg came separate and a generous portion of cauliflower cheese. Well priced for what we got. The guy serving us was brilliant, checked if we were vegan and veggie and just couldn't have been better service.

Two night stay with breakfast for both days and dinner included for one night. Pleasant clean, warm and comfortable twin room with ensuite. Quiet and a good night's sleep for us both. We had the incuded dinner on our first night - we both had steaks which were excellent, well trimmed and cooked to perfection! Staff were all friendly and helpful. Lovely location right in the heart of Holmfirth - if you need to be in the area, highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. One of the best things about The Old Bridge is the staff, they are all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. I will definitely be staying again.

Called in here one day on a visit to the area. Received a warm welcome and shown a table for eight of us with no reservation. Waiter and waitress were very friendly and patient. Once the food came it was very nice and we all enjoyed. If in the area would visit again.

Comfortable warm room. Lovely polite friendly pleasant staff. The evening meal in the restaurant was high quality and tasted delicious. The bed was comfortable the room spotless, with lovely towels and high quality soap body wash hand wash shampoo and conditioner. The breakfast choice was very varied and was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be visiting again soon. Thank you for an excellent night's stay.
