Rooms were dated but clean and comfortable, for the price it was all you could really ask for. Location was ideal for doing anything in the Brecon beacons so if you're planning on visiting for a few days I would highly recommend staying here. Spa/pool was lovely, the pool is heated so not a shock to the body thankfully!

Lovely spot for a drink outside on a warm day. Beautiful gardens. Good service, helpful staff, but still baffled at 4 for 2 small bags of cheese and onion crisps! Must have been an error hey?

The food at the restaurant is pretty good and the pool/spa area is ok (although the changing rooms and pool showers could be better). However we had an awful experience with our booking not appearing in their system and the staff not showing much interest in solving the issue proactively. We had to take the last twin room available which was far from what we expected.

If sleeping in a tent was an option that night I would have swapped that horrible room for it. At check out we were expecting to see a discount applying on the final bill as an apology for the inconvenience and a goodwill gesture. However we were faced with a full bill and an accusation of being rude towards the staff and told to leave. Although in the end we settled for a 20 discount, we left wishing to forget the awful room we were forced to spend the night in and how we were treated despite paying for it all as if nothing had happened.

Nice place where people work really hard to make their clients happy. They have a beautiful garden, where you can relax and drink/eat something. The guys in the kitchen are superlative! We enjoyed our stay and we strongly recommend a visit!

Rooms are average, dated bathroom, standing shower would have been appreciated with the pool showers only having cold water. The staff seem nice and friendly always happy to help. The major downside was the restaurant as the food was massively over priced for what it was as it was dry bland and honestly just not nice. Waiting staff to busy talking to their friends and not doing their job.

Staff very helpful and food as always excellent. Very disappointed in the room. It has been a couple of years since we stayed and the "premier" room we had was in desperate need of an upgrade. Walls had serious cracks and damp, curtain tie back worn through

Stopped for a weekend lunch, the menu selection is great, just the right amount of choice. Quality of the food was outstanding, would highly recommend. Can't comment on other facilities as I've not used them.

Great leisure facilities, nice spa. Food and service were great. Nice casual atmosphere with lovely brasserie style food. Harry and his team out on the floor were excellent. Very much enjoyed a chilled out stay

I only visited the spa and facilities as a day guest whilst staying in the area. The staff, customer services and treatments received were fantastic. I booked a face and body combination treatment which I couldn't recommend enough! Unfortunately the changing room and pool area really let the treatment rooms, staff and everything else down. The changing area is in need of serious upgrading and renovation, the floor was lifting in places, the ceiling was filthy with a really grubby air con/vent that seemed to be leaking.

There was one changing room which was a tiny square with a shower curtain. The whole area was generally grubby and very run down. Such a shame when the experience of the treatment and customer service was so good.

2 day stay in January, fri-sat. Very nice stay, location is in between merthyr Tydfil and brecon town with pen y fan a stones throw away. Overall a very nice hotel, we had a well equipped room with tea/coffee, fridge, bathroom (bath and shower), separate lounge, also big tv in the bedroom. Food was very nice indeed spa is nice, good size pool with a separate jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.

My gripe were changing rooms at least on the male side have no individual cubicles, its an all in one changing area with showers so you may not like that if dont like your bits swinging around not the end of the world but i like my privacy personally! Only other that i picked up on was the hotel is imo in need of a lick of paint throughout and some areas of carpeting need a wash, but then when you take into account its location it becomes obvious that it much be near impossible to keep the place mint. Overall a nice stay, would i stay again, yes i think i would

Superb food, staff welcoming & professional. It could do with some tlc in the rooms as the ambience was as romantic as I'd hoped for. But still spacious & a fabulous weekend.

The staff are excellent, they couldn't do enough for us. The food was also excellent! Our room was not so great, and in need of a refurb, the place needs money spent on it to bring back the magic of former years.

Stayed here for two days. Generally quite good: Great staff. Rooms were fine if a little rickety In places. Spa was ok. Food, was a huge disappointment though. Had dinner here twice. Why on earth are you serving potatoes with pasta. Why is the white wine sauce so watery. Why are you hiding more pasta under my chicken. Why are your seasonal Veg so limp and small.

Why is your lamb so over cooked? How did you manage to mess up grilling swordfish? Breakfast - burnt toast, the worst scrambled eggs I've eaten outside of a hospital, pretty lame veggie sausages and instant coffee served in a coffee pot. However, really good staff service. The staff are an absolute treat. And the massages were great value.

Eight of us enjoyed a lovely lunch at Nant Ddu Lodge. I had prawn cocktail and a beef and ale pie - very tasty. Also worth saying the service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. Well done to all at Nant Ddu Lodge!

We stay here quite regularly. Very helpful staff. The hotel is really in need of a refurbishment as hotel looks tired throughout. However, good sized rooms with everything you'd expect and superior rooms have slippers and robes and bigger beds with comfortable mattresses. The food is lovely and cooked fresh. Excellent chef! Good range of drinks and plenty of tea, coffee, juices, etc., with good, freshly cooked to order breakfasts. Nice location.

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff. Pool and spa are great. Good food and selection of wines, but beer choice a bit limited. The only downside is it's on a busy road and there is no walking direct from the hotel, you have to drive elsewhere.

Staff were really friendly and welcoming and the pool and spa area were lovely. But, my room was rather tired and tatty, and parts of the hotel really could do with updating, cleaning and tidying up. The restaurant was OK if you enjoy traditional food, but limited otherwise. It served me well for an overnight work stay but I'll find somewhere else in the area for next time.

Amazing hotel, and lovely location, with beautiful countryside, trees and mountains surrounding. Lovely pub and restaurant, and they do a great breakfast too. There is a reasonable gym upstairs, and a good sized swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The spa is excellent and offers many treatments that are well done and very relaxing. A lovely place to stay!
