Just five minutes walking distance from the City Centre, The Merrick Lodge Hotel is Coventry's best kept secret. Formerly a grand old Manor House, The Merrick Lodge was converted into a Hotel in 1984 and after much improvement now boasts twenty six first class bedrooms, a full A La Carte Liaisons Restaurant and fully air conditioned Conference/Banqueting Facilities for up to three hundred and fifty guests.

So me and my partner stayed here as we're homeless, the heating didn't work, we had to literally sleep in our coats, please see the photos below of the state of our room, if I had a picture of the curtains I would post it but the curtains were a complete joke, they didn't even fit the window, the service charge is a complete waste of time too cause what are we actually paying a service charge for as there was nothing done.
The price of the room is 75 a night may I add that's including in the so called service charge I do agree with some of the people in the reviews the staff at reception are really nice and helpful.

Money for maintenance and cleaning from Coventry City Council seem to go to pockets of owners. Unbearable, discriminative staff, management, one female in particular the worst, she would not move to help, when asked for some assistance she became infuriated and vindictive. Helen, it was, I think, such an unpleasant being! I had seen some horrors there, that to have nightmares about forever. An awful, dirty, freezing, disgusting place, so is the staff in charge. May CC Council find someone more honest and decent, to help homeless that hang around in there. This place should be closed down.

As the council put me in Merrick lodge as I was homeless I thought it wouldn't be to bad but I was wrong, head bosses there as liars and snobby as I lost my keys and agreed to pay when I get paid but I accepted a new property and moved out taking a blanket and a towel from the room, so today I received a call saying I had stolen a microwave which I never had in my room and that I had taken everything complete joke made me laugh to say that I have stolen "bedsheets" & a "microwave" which I never had a microwave. Other staff are good there and quite supportive but the locals are smack heads and pissheads un ideal for children to be living there and I would not recommend Merrick lodge
