DO. NOT. STAY. HERE. This is was easily the WORST experience that I have ever had at a hotel and we were paying as much as $450 a night! Broken beds, wood shavings on the ground, missing floor boards, broken TVs. I would expect this from a cheap hotel in a bad neighborhood. NOT from a Marriott. Staff was rude and unhelpful. Our toddler was snapped into a faulty pull out bed. Truly shocking! DO NOT STAY! The residence inn around the corner "London Tower Bridge" is a much better choice.

Really, really impressed with this place. A smaller, professional and friendly staff with a really good sized rooms. It's in a residential area but a short walk to Tower Bridge and some other lively areas. Nice gym and laundry downstairs. If you're looking for downtown it's going to be a hike but if you're on a budget and can take the tube/Uber you could do a lot worse.

What's up: We chose this hotel because it gave us the option to cook food if we wanted to. And.it provided complementary breakfast in the morning! Woohoo! We stayed in this hotel on two separate occasions during our trip between London and Paris. Parking: We travelled via the London Underground (Tube) so this didn't apply to us. There are two Tube stations nearby: Borough and London Bridge.
We found it easier to go through Borough Station since it's a straight shot to the hotel. Their website does mention that offsite parking is available for a fee. Environment: Upon entry into the hotel, you'll see the reception desk as soon as you pass through the doors. To me, it felt awkwardly placed and looked temporary; not sure if that's the case.
The elevator is to the left of the reception desk and the breakfast/market pantry area is to the right. The room's electricity is also dependent upon a keycard. The gym is located in the basement, right next to the complementary laundry room (there's even soap pods). It has a couple of cardio machines and a variety of free weights and weight machines.
They also have an option for you to plug in your own music and make use of their speaker system; that was kind of cool. What was ordered: We stayed at this location twice on our trip. During our first stay, we were placed in a single bedroom. At first glance, it didn't look too bad. But then we started noticing some little things. There were no coffee pods for our Nespresso. Ok, we can live without coffee I guess.
When we wanted to use the dishwasher, we didn't find any dish washing detergent and when we tried to do a hot water rinse, it didn't clean well. The counter space in the bathroom was pretty much nonexistent and there was no shower gel, just an empty bottle. At this point we were pretty annoyed but since we had one more day, we decided to tough it out.
We left the Do Not Disturb sign on our door but when we returned after our outing, we found out that the hotel staff had came in to refresh the room regardless of the sign! And they still didn't refill the shower gel (facepalm)! We weren't too satisfied with our stay here and were not looking forward to the second occurrence when we were going to return in a few days.
The only positive thing about this stay was that the complementary breakfast was fairly good and they had several options to choose from. Round two. After returning from Paris, we checked into the hotel again and were actually given an upgrade to a two bedroom suite. Wow! The room was a lot bigger and the two bedrooms each had its own bathroom with lots of counter space.
I have to say, pretty much everything that was bad in our first stay turned good with this one. We had coffee pods, dish washing detergent, shower gel, and a working dishwasher! Can't be too sure of the DND occurrence this time around because we only stayed for a night. Breakfast was just as good. Yay/Nay/Meh: Meh. It was pretty hit-or-miss during our stay here.
We had a not so awesome experience our first time around but it improved a lot in our second stay. I still think the biggest annoyance was the fact that they came in to refresh our room even though we had the Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the door. However, the staff was friendly and welcoming on both occurrences and we enjoyed the complementary breakfast. As with other hotels, credits cards were accepted and they charge an initial deposit when you check in and will be returned at check out.

Overall, the hotel was a decent, other than the rude service and dirty rooms. The rooms are the size of Cruise-ship and there was dust falling from the ceiling. The room was so small the door hit the bed when you opened it. Also they didn't have towels or Kleenex and don't ask for some i know from experience. They have no towels, so they put signs around the hotel saying "bring your towels for an extended stay". i've stayed at many hotels but this one is just one of the worst.

This is a great property in a convenient location and perfect for families traveling with kids. The location was a 5 minute walk to London Bridge, Tower of London and London Bridge station. It was less crowded than other parts of town and there was a park across the street where my kids could play. I am platinum elite so I often get upgraded upon arrival.
When my kids and I arrived we were upgraded to a family suite with 2 sleeping alcoves, 2 baths, a small living, dining and kitchen area. There were 3 TVs which was perfect for us. In addition, the place had everything we needed and was fully equipped. The only downfall was the room overlooked the trash dumpsters behind the hotel. Room great. view, not so much! Also, no matter what I adjusted the air conditioning to in the room, it never cooled down.
I turned it down to the lowest setting and it still was not cool enough. There is nothing worse than sweating while sleeping especially in a hotel. The staff were great, the free breakfast was great and the common area with board games, tv and tea and coffee 24-7 was terrific.

I highly recommend this hotel for families with young children for the following reasons. 1) it has a kitchen and laundry 2) the neighborhood, Bermondsey, is very nice, hip, not super expensive and not too rowdy. It's also close to major tourist attractions like Borough Market, Tate Modern, Tower of London etc. 3) the staff are very nice and good with kids 4) the prices are reasonable for London.
There are some drawbacks I'm sure others will mention. For example, there is only one small elevator for the whole hotel. I don't think it's an issue for an able bodied adult because the hotel isn't very tall so it's no big deal (to me) to walk a few flights of stairs. The breakfast is reasonable, not fantastic, but it's also free so if you get bored of it you can always go down the street to Comptoir Gourmand or some other place instead.
The cleaners don't come every day by default but if you ask they'll accommodate you. And the hotel is showing some wear and tear but frankly with kids you will be the ones causing the wear and tear so if anything I consider that aspect a positive. And the rooms are fairly small, but this is London and all rooms are small.

I rarely give hotels 5 stars, but I just couldn't find anything wrong with this place. Located in a somewhat quiet part of London, but super close to Bermondsey Street with lots of action and walking distance to other sights like the shard and borough market. I was staying here for business and the attention to detail is really good. Modern, clean rooms, little kitchen, free laundry machines, a decent gym, good breakfast, friendly service, a smaller hotel, so not a mile walk from the lobby to the room. There's a grocery store less than a block away and a spectacular Italian Cafe/restaurant across the street but don't discount a walk down Bermondsey St.
In the room is a safe, nice iron and iron board, a nespresso machine and plenty of nice towels. Shower was good with nice hot water and plenty of pressure. In all, a really nice place and I will for sure stay again next time I'm in London.

It is hard to pick hotels in London; there are a lot Of good options but also very pricey. As an SPG member, I decided to stay loyal an stay at this Marriott property. The location for this hotel is prime. I was very close to the Borough market and train station. It was only a 10 minute walk which I highly recommended since tragic can get heavy very quickly, also, London is such a beautiful place to walk around!
They have a beautiful lobby area where breakfast is served every day and there is a 24 self-service station for coffee and tea. There is also a gym and laundry facility underground. The rooms are very spacious and look more like apartments. I was actually kinda cool because every time I walked in I felt like I was getting to my small but cozy loft It has a small dining area that was perfect to share meals with my brother and even entertain a couple Of friends that visited us! The experience was absolutely Great. This is a place where I would stay for surreeee!

Comfortable beds and clean bedding. The location is close to a few attractions, including Tower Bridge, Tower of London, the Shard and the Borough Market. The front desk staff were very helpful and courteous. Complimentary breakfast and espresso are big pluses. They also offer onsite DIY laundry. A few downsides: 1) walking on the streets in the neighborhood at night can feel a bit isolated since there aren't a lot of restaurants or shops nearby especially ones open late at night (except for one convenience/grocery store one block away); 2) bed frames can trip you if you are not careful as the bedrooms are small; 3) One blemish was that after our 2nd night, the cleaning staff did not do a thorough job with restocking the bathroom. Overall still a satisfactory stay given all the positives.

Stayed at the Residence Inn for one night between arriving from Gatwick and continuing on to Kings Cross for a train up North. The hotel is conveniently located Southwark as I took the Thameslink train to London Bridge, so it was just a 10 minute walk from the station! Having stayed at other Residence Inn properties in the US, this newer RI was a breath of fresh air given its various design aspects, with lots of art pieces and decor that hold true to the city itself. Rooms tend to be small in the UK, but the hotel used it to its advantage and made it feel very homey.
The Nespresso machines were a nice touch! However, one issue I found was the futon that the bed sat on. There were times were I was trying to get to the bathroom and would accidentally kick the base with my legs! The hotel's breakfast was the best I've had at a Residence Inn. You have a healthy mix between American and British options, as well as plenty of fruit and juice to balance everything out!
Although the hotel is convenient for visitors flying in from Gatwick, the property itself is only close to the Shard, Tower Bridge, and Borough Market. So be prepared to purchase an Oyster card to hop onto the tube for all the other sights in the city!

I stayed here for Christmas holiday and this "hotel" was awesome! It's located in a somewhat residential neighborhood with a bunch of apartment and condo buildings. It feels more like an airbnb rather than a hotel which was very nice. I stayed in a huge 2 bed studio that also had 2 bathrooms, kitchen, large living area. Everything was brand spanking new and nicely decorated.
The place was walking distance to restaurants and Tower Bridge ( about 10 mins). The C10 bus runs a feet away. There is a convenience store and block away and couple mom and pop stores. They served breakfast every morning until 10am. Typical eggs, bacon, sausage, breads kinda deal. It's free! I would definitely stay here again if I was to visit London. Everything down to the staff was great!

This review is as of: 28 November 2017. This hotel seems to be brand new. I spoke to the sales manager and it was mentioned that this hotel has been opened since August 2017. This Residence Inn does not have the "Residence Inn Mix" like most do in the United States, however, I do believe their variety in breakfast makes up for it. Key points that I love about this hotel so far: 1) It's very pleasing to the eye.
From the lobby, the dining area, the guest rooms, the furniture chosen, the bathroom, the gym; everything looks great. 2) It's about a 9 minute walk to the London Bridge station 3) There's a Sainsbury Local store that's about a 30 second walk away. 4) The staff are friendly and seem like they're willing to help. 5) Did I mention the variety of the breakfast items? 6) The gym is much bigger than most Residence Inn's that I've been to with many more equipment that you're free to use. I'm sure to update this review in the future once I've completed my stay. Also: I created this business profile on yelp because no one's done it yet, but for some reason yelp created it as "Residence Inn by Marriot" I'm fully aware that Marriott has two "T"s at the end - hopefully yelp can fix this somehow.
