Great place with a lot of events going on. Weddings, experience nights, parties of all sorts of sizes. It's a really unique place that feels like you're in a bit of a theme park. We went for a medieval banquet night - which was amazing and great fun - such a good setting for it. Grounds a lovely and you have the country park right next door you can explore for free and also has regular markets and amusements.

I booked a room via one of third-party travel apps with a surprisingly cheap price for what seems to look like a mansion-type room, judging from the image displayed in the app. I turned out, the room I booked was a very much standard room. I complained to the reception telling how I would know if the image shown was actually a different type of room.
Finally my complaint got handled pretty well. They gave me a room upgrade. Aside of that poor app-related experience, I would rate my stay here as 'Wonderful'. The mansion has decent facilities, but quite a good view to walk around. The room also looked quite unique. Breakfast was fine.

We had a lovely afternoon tea here followed by a night in a special room with breakfast. All was going well until the boiler broke. So we were moved to another room with hot water . All through this the staff were excellent and dealt with the problem with patience and humour. The special room was magnificent with a tremendous view of the park. Room 2 was more modern but comfortable and spacious. I would definitely recommend a stay here. I was told a new boiler is going to be fitted

Murder mystery was good, could have had more acting than there was I think. Entertaining and food was very nice. Rooms were authentic and didn't feel modern at the same time they were not in disrepair, amenities in the room need to upgraded e.g iron. But no complaints apart from that, the building itself is stunning.

Had our 10 year anniversary meal In the garden tea room, the food was exceptional and surprisingly affordable! Service was good, if I was to be super critical it would have been that we were greeted but left at the bar whilst people whose table was booked later than ours were served first, we seemed to be the only table that wasn't offered water and had to keep asking for drinks.
Just felt ignored compared to other table. This was our last meal out before we are having our baby so maybe my expectations were too high (as well as hormones ) this hasn't put me off coming again I just want to be honest with my review!

The building itself looked amazing, with the water running around it and the beautiful gardens. The hotel was lovely inside, the staff were great and so was the food. We ate in the garden room, which was beautifully laid out and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was spot on. I would advise the bread with olive oil. Large enough to share and was warm. Beautiful.
We had a feature room that was lovely too, but it needed a good clean and some tlc. The extraction in the bathroom didn't work and was full of dust, the bath plug didn't stay in place and we initially had no power to any sockets. We were promised champagne, flowers and chocolates but initially only received chocolates, until we asked, then we received the champagne. At the price charged for a feature room, there shouldn't be any faults. However, these were minor points and I would stay again and would recommend a stay.

We did not take rooms just afternoon tea, we was told as it was mothering Sunday we could order sandwiches and cakes with our teas, the said it was OK and then being told by the head bar and restaurant manager that only teas could be ordered. We politely told him to instruct his working staff correctly of the intentional requirements, we told him of the rudeness of his manor to very willing and capable paying customers that we would purchase teas on the lawn.

This is a very nice hotel. We stayed there with our baby, there was a small misunderstanding with the room type booked, they quickly arranged a different room to suit our needs. Breakfast was great, so was the bar food. The location is amazing, the park nearby is breathtaking. We would recommend this place.

Loved it. Great food. Traditional customer focused hotel in an historic setting. Great grounds to walk in and good local walks. Comfortable room, big bed, nice view. Nothing to dislike. Except the hash browns which were disappointing both mornings, but hey that's a small complaint in an otherwise great stay! So comfortable. So inviting. Loved it.

Just want to thank all the staff at the hotel for our wonderful stay on the 27th of December. It was my partners birthday and we stayed in the Lucy bed chamber which she absolutely adored. We had the romance package and the flowers, champagne and chocolates were a lovely welcome. Dinner was lovely and I proposed during dinner and received complimentary glasses of champagne and everything just made it the most special night of our lives. Thank you for everything you all did. cannot wait to return!

Beautiful place. Had Christmas High Tea. Well organised and very friendly and polite staff. I am not really a sing along person, but the carol singers were quite good and not pushy at all so joining in was fun on several songs and everyone there had a great time as far as I could see. Would certainly go to another event held by the hotel. Thank you for running this event.

Afternoon tea with the D-Day Darlings with friends for pre Christmas celebrations. Wonderful event. The entertainment was fabulous. All the popular 40s tunes plus sing along xmas songs. Service of tea and coffee was really good. Bar available. Afternoon tea very good value but scones were like shortbread. A bit disappointing that the cakes weren't freshly baked. But overall a tremendous, good value event. I had the best company with my friends. But you can't buy that.

Fantastic venue for a Christmas party, the food was really good for the evening meal. Breakfast was a full English buffet. Hotel rooms are very nice, especially in the main building, those in the anex are a little more basic. The venue looks amazing for a wedding. The grounds are even more stunning when the snow started to fall!

Stayed at this hotel on June 23. The grounds are quite beautiful and with walking around the park. The hotel while historically and architecturally significant is an awful environment for rest. The rooms have no air circulation, thus no temperature or humidity control. They are very stuffy to breathe. The staff are polite, but not customer centric. Would highly discourage a stay st this hotel.

Majestic 13th century abbey turned hotel in Coventry England. Amazing food in their award winning restaurant. Great wine selection as well. The deluxe suites are fit for a king or a queen, which I felt like on my recent stay! The grounds are gorgeous, be sure to explore and bring along your camera! You'll want to remember these views. Also check out the medieval banquet held each weekend.

I'd been to coombe abbey before, many years ago for a wedding. Which was a medieval theme with serving monks who then took off their robes to reveal serving wenches! Last year I went back with friends & sister to have afternoon tea here. We booked 4 of us to have the Knights afternoon tea and one had the standard afternoon tea as she didn't eat pork.
The Knights afternoon tea came with a glass of ale, as well as tea/ coffee. We had a cottage pie, scotch egg, etc so it was different to the one with sandwiches. In hindsight we probably should have had 2 Knights and 2 of the other afternoon tea to share out. We sat in the conservatory which was nice but rather warm. We had a nice walk round the grounds and the adjoining park. It's worth a visit!

Only ever been here for a end of term party and to walk around the grounds, and for an afternoon tea. not been to stay inside the hotel, but have looked around and it is very beautiful - very gothic, dark, high backed hairs. then you get into the conservatory where the afternoon tea service is held and it's light, airy, beautiful and pastel colors! the gardens are lovely to walk around or to jog, you can see the beautiful stream where the swans and ducks are. really pretty especially in the summer. the house itself as mentioned is dark and imposing especially when you go down the long drive to get to it. it's a little hidden gem in the warwickshire countryside. would love to stay there. ps. food and service at the afternoon tea was of course great

Coombe Abbey is a hidden gem. I'm originally from this neck of the woods, and remember many summer days playing in the public parks around the Abbey. At that time, it was a private building, but all of the grounds were open. Now it's a hotel, and WHAT a hotel! The entire place is a trip back in time. Very little of the original architecture has been changed, with new additions tastefully evoking the building's magisterial beauty, such as the dining area which is essentially a massive conservatory at the back of the building.
We occupied two interconnecting rooms. We are definitely not the hotel's target demographic -- 2 adults and 4 young kids -- but they did absolutely everything possible to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable, and unforgettable (in a good way!). Each room had a feature bed, which was just wonderful. The bathrooms were extremely well-appointed, with fantastic showers and bath fittings that soothed away the jetlag and long days of touring the area. Speaking of which: Coombe Abbey is a fantastic base for things like Warwick Castle, Stratford, and Birmingham, especially if you want somewhere a little away from the bustle of regular tourist spots.
Remember that the hotel is surrounded by its own land and acres of farmland, too. At night, there isn't a single noise; nothing intrudes on the quiet and serenity of this location. We slept like logs every night -- all of us, even the children. Breakfast was included in our booking, and it's pretty usual English hotel fare: buffet breakfast, including juices, cereals, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, and -- of course -- a fry-up.
I believe that Coventry has a lot to offer to tourists. Unfortunately the city is doing a really poor job of redeveloping and marketing itself, and so a lot of good things are going to waste. Coombe Abbey should not be one of them. It's magnificent in every way.

I have not been to the hotel for any particular large event, but I did go for afternoon tea and cannot exclaim my wonder for it enough! The room, the conservatory I believe, that we had our tea in was exquisite - not to my taste, but even I was in awe at the ornate decoration. The four of us were given our own room at an extremely well laid table and served the most enormous scones, teas and coffees I have ever seen. Staff were attentive and friendly and we were allowed to explore the hotel a little after. Most amazing day.

Coombe Abbey Hotel is still one of my most favourite hotels in the whole world even after visiting many others that are more expensive etc I was extremely pleased with the actual hotel, it is surprising how large it is when you approach the hotel down the drive. Parking is not a problem and there are many places around to park. The actual hotel has a strong mediaeval vibe inside, and everything seems very dark and atmospheric, with lots of statues of cherubs, knights and coat of arms.
The staff are really lovely people and help in any way needed. The rooms are so individual and unique, they are very old fashioned, and it is like living in a castle! The bathrooms are huge with massive baths and extremely spacious. The room itself was massive with a hidden tv in a cabinet and secret little hideaway compartments with sweets, tea and coffee, kettle etcall over the room which I loved searching for!
The restaurant is fantastic, the food was absolutely the best quality food for a very reasonable price. I still dream about the chicken stuffed with parma ham and cheese! The actual setting of the restaurant is very similar to an open conservatory inside and is very intimate. Highly recommended.
