A bit disappointed, the house and grounds are lovely but it felt to me like it was run on a budget yet charged a premium. For example I ordered a lemonade and then saw them pour a glass from a 2l bottle with a 99p sticker on it. Tasted very cheap and the ice melted straight away as it was warm too! I ordered a steak for dinner and whilst that was lovely the chips tasted really cheap and like the oil hasn't been changed in a while.
Also the salad leaves looked like they hadn't been washed as they were still dirty. I was camping so I haven't got any idea what the hotel was like. I was hoping to use the washing machine but unfortunately there was only one and it was out of order. For 13 for one night it was the most expensive campsite I stayed at on my Offa's Dyke hike and probably had the least amount of working facilities.

Wonderful stay over Friday and Saturday nights this Easter weekend. The hall is so characterful and the staff are really friendly and helpful (especially Dawn) The owners can't do enough for you and should be proud of Mellington. We stayed in a newly renovated room overlooking the back gardens and it was lovely. Food is excellent so much that we ate both nights in the restaurant.
Set in beautiful grounds which we walked around with our dog as the hotel is very very dog friendly. Like our own Downton abbey weekend! Would highly recommend and will stay again for definite. Thanks to everyone. Mel and Ste (and Flossie) x

Thank you to Mellington Hall Country House Hotel & Holiday Home Park. A group of us visited last night. We hadn't seen each other for over 2 years. The majority of the group hadn't been before and were very impressed. It was lovely to have our own room with big table and comfy sofas where we could sit and catch up. The meal was excellent and the service was brilliant. Thanks once again.

Lovely old building in stunning surroundings. Quite busy when we got there. Took a while to get our order in. Went for 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for 30, not realising the sauces were an extra 4 for a tiny jug, but they were tasty. A very enjoyable evening with friendly staff. Happy to recommend.
