The Manor House was built in 1780 as the principal residence of the Duke of Argyll's Oban estate. It was later used as a Dower House for his family. Of late Georgian architecture, great consideration has been given to preserve the elegance, charm and atmosphere of its past. The Manor House has eleven bedrooms each with en-suite bathroom.

We (2) had a most satisfactory dinner under the new ownership yesterday evening. Discreet and courteous service to a table set nicely to a high standard. The menu was interesting and thoughtful with very well prepared and presented delicious food. Portions were such that we felt comfortably full after 3 courses. The bill was reasonable and by no means overpriced. All in all very agreeable. Thanks to all concerned, we'll be back before long.

Traditional guest house, great place, clean and well-maintained. Nice bath in room, lovely view into harbour. Bed was super comfortable, nice lounge with open fire for us to enjoy a few drams. The guy on front of house was nice and informative, so much good about this place. Breakfast was ok, could've been better but dessert was delicious - great stay if you're passing.

Four of us went to dinner and we were so thrilled to find such a fabulous restaurant. The setting is so beautiful, the hotel is full of traditional features. The staff are charming & attentive but the highlight is the food which is locally sourced and completely delicious. It was delightful to meet the new owner who is working really hard to make the place really special we will definitely be back & you should GO.you will not be disappointed!

Overpriced for the rooms and the beds which are small. Dinner was very good and the highlight of the stay however the breakfast was definitely below expectations. Service is ok but could be improved by making better use of the tables with the view (we had to request it instead of our table in the back room even though the one close to the windows was not occupied)

Stopped at this handsome establishment for mid-afternoon late lunch while awaiting a ferry, only to discover the kitchen closed during the afternoon in common with most local venues. Staff were very welcoming and offered to find alternatives for us, but in the end we stayed for drinks with crisps and nuts to enjoy the glorious views from the terrace. Lovely people, lovely place.

Had dinner here as a group of six (booked in advance after it being recommended by friends). Food and service was excellent. We all chose from the set menu, which works out at better value if having more than two courses. The waiter was extremely polite, attentive while not rushing us in the slightest and helped to make it an especially relaxing and enjoyable evening. It is expensive but worth it as an occasional treat and was a perfect way to top off our trip to Oban.
