Just popped in for a drink while waiting to catch a train. Receptionist didn't seem all that interested and nor did the barman. But the youngsters on their school holidays were full of excitement that "this is a lovely hotel" - which it is! Us customers pay your wages folks. a wee smile wouldn't cost too much would it?

One of the nicest hotels ive ever been too. Me and my boyfriend went for a couple of days for valentines. The rooms are reasonably spacious and cosy and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The decor for the hotel is in my own opinion hideous but i dont really care about decor much. I have no doubt the old and vintage decor would apeal to others however as i think it really does add to the charm.
The view from the hotel is simply gorgeous with easy access to the train station less than a minute from the hotel. I would deffo like to return for another stay in the future.

Dissapointed we were not told when booking that the hotel was being renovated and the bar (with all the lovely whiskies) was off limits. Hotels should advise of such situations up front to give customers the option of going elsewhere, or offer a discount if the premises are compromised in someway. The hotel is expensive and needs quite a bit of updating. The bathtub was scratched and "grey" in colour and the TV miniscule.

Had a great stay, friendly and efficient staff made it a pick worth recommending. Room was a high standard and the included breakfast was tasty. The 3 course dinner we had was excellent and well priced. Situated just over 6 miles from Oban it was ose enough to travel there without all the hussle and bustle of being in the town. Connel is a quant village with a corner shop and train stop so not too busy.

It was good until this morning! Booked in for breakfast for 9am; breakfast arrived 9.40am despite those around us who come in after us and received theirs before us. My husband asked for the full breakfast but also asked if he could have some kippers with it. Lady that served us huffed and said I'll write it down but will have to ask the chef. When the breakfast came it was lovely however had to wait a further 5 minutes for toast which was cold upon its arrival.
Upon checkout the receptionist was lovely; offered to refund the 20 breakfast cost which we declined as we had eaten it. Also It was a bit of a free for all for the self serve and with social distance and hand sanitising not being adhered to by guests. Obviously not the hotels fault however no challenge in regards to this observed. The suite we had was lovely and spacious with its own balcony (there were 3 of us). Meals we had the night before were lovely and we were served promptly and efficiently.
My only concern was the close proximity of the tables. Where we were sat the chap to the right of me was nearly sitting on my lap! The actual decor itself is quite dated and could do with a refresh but that's only my own personal taste. Would we stay there again? Probably if they could get the breakfast situation sorted.

Lovely place to stay few folk stayed here, only down fall really was the breakfast only reason it was very dry so I believe it may have been under a heat lamp. Staff are very accommodating. And there is a car park on the left side of the building, nice area at the front up the stairs too have a drinks.

If you are in the Fort William or Oban area & are looking for somewhere to stay or for dinner, look no further than the Falls of Lora hotel in Connel, it is set in an amazing small village 10mins away from. Oban, the hotel itself is big & grand. maintaining rustic yet modern feel throughout. The bistro menu is second to none with lots of home cooked favourites on the menu from Chicken Goujons, Beef Burgers, Steak Pie to Macaroni & Cheese, the perfect selection for any tastebuds.
The restaurant itself is clean and well spaced out, our waitress was fantastic, so friendly & bubbly! they offer a weekly specials menu which offers a 2/3 course option. Food takes no time at all to fly out the.

Great place to rest a weary head either before or after a ferry journey. We go there because they accept dogs. Welcoming staff and good breakfast. John the gardener deserves a very special mention (I asked his name!) because the grounds and garden are exquisitely presented. So much love, knowledge, precision and care.well done John.

Absolutely first class hotel with a beautiful view of the Loch. The staff were fabulous throughout the hotel. Very helpful and caring staff. Nothing was a bother. The hotel room we had was spacious with a. large en-suite. We used the bistro on both nights of our stay and food was delicious. The hotels location was superb to use your car to visit other places.
This was our first time in this hotel and already we have booked to come back in December. Highly recommend a visit to this lovely hotel that also has a carpark & beautiful garden area.

Thought about a single star but that wouldn't do justice to the lovely furnishing and the great exterior. Room was fine too. It's the snobbery and the total disdain for the customer that bugged me. As a single female traveler I've never felt this much neglected and even put down before. Both at dinner and breakfast I was seated at the worst tables, in the pathway of the back room or with no view, while all the other companies had great tables.
The other companies all got friendly asked if everything was alright, not me. I got up at 8:00, had breakfast and came back to my room, to see the towels all removed and the bed made up anew already, whit all my stuff taken off the bed and put back on, while I was checking out! And I still had my teeth to brush. We're talking 8:45 AM! At checking out and complaining about this I was told that rooms are done during breakfast, because the laundry is picked up early!
I could've hanged a label at my door had I didn't want this. Are you kidding me?! You have your guests treated like that because of your supplier!? With all your Victorian furniture, lovely bedrooms, stuffed game in the hall and expensive looking everything, you don't even know the least about customer friendly service. The second star is for the lovely old serving lady at breakfast, who understood.

Interesting large Edwardian hotel on the bank of the river just North of Oban. Limited car parking for such a large building. Run by elderly sisters and their all-female staff, gives a bit of a Miss Marple feel to the place in the reception areas. Nice bar with good selection of local bottled ales. We had a private dinner in the dining room which was opened specially for us and we were attended to superbly, with lovely food. Rooms upstairs are a maze - we passed one with black PVC on the bed and some kind of green net curtains - hmmm! Room small and cosy, perfectly comfortable. Good breakfast.
