Just spent the most fabulous four nights at this spa hotel. I have never experienced such wonderful staff in all of my extensive travels. Nothing was a bother to them. They were also very friendly and amenable. An outstanding young team who made our stay special. I had a great session of reflexology in the spa. However, for a 5 star hotel, the spa area was a bit of a let down.
The ladies dressing area was in need of a lot of tlc. Most disappointing was the quiet room for after treatments. I would expect beds with fine blankets to continue the relaxation experience. It was all a bit basic. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars However this didn't detract from the wonderful time I had and would certainly not stop a second visit. A big thank you to everyone who made us feel special. 2021was a hard year and the trip was a great start to 2022.

I always feel that the staff are the true mark of quality for hotels of this kind, and the Eriska certainly didn't disappoint. Great facilities, luxiouriously comfortable suite, and friendly, attentive staff. Staff at the Deck restaurant particularly good - great to see a chef so helpful and enthusiastic about his food! Would go back and no hesitation to recommend.

Had the best of times at the hotel. Can't speak highly enough of the staff, the room, the location and the food. Staff were exceptionally friendly and made our stay very enjoyable indeed. The food was an absolute joy to experience at both the fine and casual dining. We have told everyone about our amazing time there and would love to go back. We were very glad to take up the chance to experience the archery, the lesson we had was a lot of fun. Lots of wildlife to see including the deer pictured.

Had a lovely 2 nights here. The food is exceptional! We were looked after by Claire and Cecile during our entire stay who were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us! Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get away from their busy lifestyle and be pampered in a beautiful setting. Lovely local walks, not too taxing. Again the highlights being the food and the service.

Part of the same group as the Inverlochy Castle Hotel, this manages to be better where it matters - we stayed in the Hilltop Reserve rooms apart from the main house; superb view and great facilities (working fireplace, decking with hot tub, proper kitchen) The main house possibly has similar feel to many 4 star country house hotels and that slightly musty smell in the main sitting room, a collection of sofas and wooden tables in the lounges but again the staff and the grounds make up for it.
This place has the most wonderful grounds and views and we enjoyed a wonderful walk for 2 hours through wooded hills, open ground and beach! It has a spa room, a pool, a small golf course and indoor courts (tennis, badminton and squash). The service was excellent. The food was also great, which is important as the hotel is a long way from anything else, it actually is on an island by itself.

Prior to the 5 tier lockdown restrictions coming into place in Scotland, we managed to escape and enjoy a 2-night getaway to Glencoe, which is approximately 30 miles north of the hotel. As soon as we drove through the island gates, we could tell we were arriving somewhere special, and although we knew the hotel was situated on its own island, we didn't actually think about the small bridge we would have to drive over to get there (this did terrify us a little!). Thankfully, we made it in time for our 6pm reservation which meant we could enjoy some welcome drinks along with some canapes on the front lawn in the sunshine, before being seated for our meal at 6.30pm.
The menu itself is a 3 course set menu with 4 options to choose from for each course. We each decided to get something different so that we could taste and judge each other's food choices. However, one dish that really caught our attention was the Lobster special. Neither of us had ever tried lobster before (and where better to try than at a Michelin Starred restaurant?) but neither of us wanted to give up our starter choice either.
After much deliberation, our waitress came to the rescue and suggested we upgraded our meal and add this dish as its own course to share! It was devine! All of the dishes were plated beautifully and tasted absolutely stunning - one of our favourites was the Apple Tart Tatin (apparently also a huge hit with the hotel residents - it never gets removed off the menu!).
If you're visiting this corner of the world - it's certainly worth the travel for such a treat! For our full review, please visit our blog https://www.sandlblog.com/post/staycation-isle-of-eriska

Don't waste your money or time coming to this place. For one, if the "Michelin" star hotel is "booked up" you're stuck with THE ONLY one other option which is a disgrace of a restaurant. What is even more disgraceful is that the concierge assured us that it is the "same team" of chefs cooking at both. If that's the case, that Michelin star needs to be promptly removed.
I won't bore you with the details about moldy cottages (see images) or the horrible food. If I were to sum it all up, this place is run by people who do not have any passion for the hospitality business or some foreign investor who thinks he/she knows better than the local managers are telling them. Either way, this was the worst place we stayed in during our stay in Scotland. It was also the most expensive and the most difficult to get to.
