Everything about this hotel and venue is stellar. The service, food and location all contribute to a five-star experience. I produced an event here for the first time last week and the Event Management team was delightful to work with and incredibly efficient.

To paraphrase Holly Golightly, I feel like nothing very bad could happen to me at the Mandarin Oriental. I love this hotel--it is my happy place. I step in and am immediately transported into relaxation and luxury. I've spent my last two birthdays here and it was amazing both times. The staff are fantastic. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and the epitome of true hospitality.

They think of little touches to make your stay even better and are incredibly helpful. Even the manager I ran into in the hallway was great. The rooms are fabulous. Obviously, they are super clean. And the real draw is the amazingly comfy bed and luxurious bathtub and shower. But the huge windows offer stunning views and there is always enough space to spread out in the room. I've not eaten much at the Mandarin, but I've had a few chocolate desserts, which were delicious.

I am hoping they eventually get an anchor restaurant, which would be even more of an enticement. But just sitting in their spacious, pretty lobby and having a drink in the adjacent dining area is relaxing. I've also been to their spa, which is excellent. The Mandarin Oriental is truly luxurious and one of my favorite places.

This was my first time staying at a Mandarin Oriental hotel and I was very impressed! The staff from the doormen to the waitstaff to housekeeping to the managers - are always ready to accommodate! This hotel is run like a tight ship and I was very impressed at their level of guest service - KUDOS! The hotel offers packages through AMEX Travel so we got a free breakfast buffet each morning - which I would totally recommend.

Our server Dolly who we then chose to eat with each morning, was an absolute doll! She was kind, and caring, and knew our names before we even sat down. The hostess of the breakfast buffet was also very kind and welcoming to us each morning. The food was great, the drinks were good and the staff was perfect! The actual hotel room - we got a suite it was awesome!

We had a great view of the Jefferson Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the Wharf. The bed was really comfy and the room came with a huge tub and walk-in shower. The room service was great and we actually got to meet our servicer in the hallway one day and she took great care of us! I also was walking down to lunch one day and saw them turning a room for a new guest, they went so far as to wipe down the inside of the lampshades! That is absolutely 10/10 guest service!

We only went to the bar This bar/ lounge with an amazing view of Central park and surrounding attractions. Its very elegant and upscale, and very expensive as well. We had a few drinks with appetizers and those were good. Service is nice. Its quite busy but if you go around 3/4 pm it should be ok.

Stayed there about 3 times. Not sure why I gave it 4* first time I reviewed it. Very elegant and high end decor, proximity to all the landmarks, and walking distance (unusual walking path) to waterfront restaurants. Nice large pool that will be perfect for kids regardless of season. Excellent spa. delicious food and high tea. overall we were very happy

I had the most amazing stay at the Mandarin. The staff was absolutely amazing. From the outstanding doormen to the front desk and concierge. Special thank you to Daniel who went out of his way to send me a birthday card, dessert and champagne. I stayed here for my birthday weekend just to enjoy a solo getaway. The spa was just try it! I will only stay at the Mandarin in NY moving forward! Thank you for making my solo birthday special. xo

Wow! I have a lot to say. If you want the TLDR. Book now! Request Jung! My wife and I arrived at Mandarin Oriental after a long delayed flight. Once arrived we were greeted by Jung. We have stayed at the Ritz, Waldorf, and many other hotels. However, the treatment and hospitality we received from Jung trumps them all. He was tremendously thoughtful in every way.

We told him we were visiting for the cherry blossoms. He gave us a directions, a map, and even took the time out to help us planning which route would be best for our plans. We asked him about dinner plans and he even helped us with planning! We required special assistance and he was understanding and accommodated us. He also gives a very good presence.

Someone you enjoy talking to or being around. To whomever it concerns, please recognize Jung goes above and beyond for his guest. We felt like we were treated like friends rather than customers. Without a doubt. I will come back to Mandarin Oriental, because of this experience with Jung.

Gorgeous, gorgeous girls don't gate keep. I have lived in the DC area since kindergarten so I know that part of the cherry blossom experience is driving around the Tidal Basin aimlessly while looking for parking. or waiting in blocks long lines to get on the metro. That is until a friend tuned me into a secret that has saved me so much sanity and time.and now I'm going to share it with you. VALET PARKING. AT THE MANDARIN ORIENTAL It's your one stop shop to having a wonderful cherry blossom experience.

You pull up, give the valet your key.the staff helps you out of your car.and presents your kid with a little panda bear stuffie dressed up in a traditional Chinese outfit.and you're on your way! They have a private stair well that leads you straight to the Tidal Basin. Please note, this is NOT stroller friendly so wearing baby is recommended.

When you're done exploring you can take a bathroom break in their beautiful, well-appointed lobby and if you're feeling fancy you can grab a cocktail as well. Honestly, I can't do the cherry blossoms any other way anymore.

Stayed here while in DC- this is a beautiful hotel- the location is amazing if you come during the Cherry Blossom festival- great walking path to the Tidal basin and if you pay for it- some of the rooms overlook the basin- great views of the cherry blossom trees! The staff is friendly and accommodating- as you would expect- rooms are elegant and comfortable- I would definitely stay here again if the location was where I wanted to be in DC- it's a little south of the Mall but easily walkable.

Dear @mo_washingtondc, thank you for making my grown up princess tea party dreams come true. * * * The hotel is located at 1330 Maryland Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024 and yassssss they have valet parking. This is a very sophisticated international restaurant and lounge that is adjoined to an elegant hotel. The area itself is just a little under a mile and a half from downtown DC. * * * The Empress Lounge offers beautiful cocktails, adult beverages, light bites, and afternoon tea.

All of the pastries are made in house and yes, I took a bite out of each one so I can confidentially say, they're all to die for. * * * If you're searching for something fun to do with your friends or a romantic weekend get a way, the @mo_washingtondc IS A MUST!

I don't feel worthy to walk into the lobby. The hotel is awesome. If money is not object or your employer pays for your stay, this is a posh place. They also host events. Parking is $49. Smithsonian and Lafant Plaza are the closest metro stops. This is a great place to stay when viewing the cherry blossoms.

The only good thing about this hotel is location. It's maybe a 3 star stay. Maybe. Furniture is old and beat up, drawers on the tables stay open. TV doesn't work. Tiles in the bathroom are broken. Shower and tub stained. Walls are thin. When we arrived we were told we had an amazing room only to find out we had one of the not so good rooms. We asked for an upgrade.

We were moved at 915 at night in the middle of our stay to a worse, cheaper room. Crazy. Not worth the money or headache. Spend your money else where. Every hotel we have stayed at in New York is better then this one. Go to citizen m. Noble den. Ludlow. Soho hotel. Anyplace but here.

Stayed here one night for Valentines Day in 2022. The place feels slightly poorly maintained. Lots of scratches in the woodwork, stains and marks. More than you'd expect to see in a hotel of this caliber. However, I'm still giving it 5 stars because all my experiences with the staff were perfection from the moment I walked in the door. Room service breakfast was wonderful and immaculately prepared and presented. Loved our view of Central Park.

I wish to god I didn't have to also see Trump tower, but I got over it. The sun rose right in front of us over Central Park. Lovely. The gym and pool areas are very well maintained. The pool was divine and once again the staff at the gym area were top notch.

Great room.great Service. I can't wait to return. I'm a creature of habit sooooo. as my family travels around the world, I'd certainly look to book with Mandarin. Edit: had to come back and downgrade from 5 stars to 4 stars, I failed to mention, there was an open used condom pack (which did NOT belong to me!) under our bed! How disgusting, house keeping came each day and apparently do not clean underneath the bed.

Cannot fault this hotel. We had a Hudson suite with adjoining room for the kids. Views of Central park from both rooms, and almost the full length of the Hudson River views with New Jersey on the other side. On a clear day you can see the statue of liberty through the buildings. Staff were great. Great cleaners, check in staff, in room dining staff and concierge. Loved being at this end of town next to Central park and close to 5th Avenue shopping. Had my 50th birthday here. Was a fabulous stay.

Beautiful hotel and staying there now Jan 5-7, but only two stars for the following very odd incident that I would expect at this level of a hotel. I walked into my room after being out and noticed a bottle and beautiful display of unwrapped macaroons and pastries. I though that was a nice touch. A few minutes later my door was opened with no knock or ringing of the bell.

They came in and said they delivered it to the wrong room. I get mistakes happen, but at this level of a hotel they should have just left them and sent a new order up to the room they were meant for. The two most disturbing things are 1) They entered my room without knocking! And 2) They took an unwrapped dessert platter from my room and then brought it to another room. I obviously did not touch it, but you never know as any guest could have touched or even sneezed on it. Pretty shocking. Management offered appologies

The hotel and room get 5 stars. A few of the staff bring it down to 4 stars. The hotel was decorated nicely. The Deluxe Suite was spacious and also had a patio. Loved the huge tub. Most of the staff was very nice and accommodating. But a few were not. Guy that bought my two 6 dollar 12 oz cokes snatched the receipt out of my hand. One of the valets was driving my car a little too fast.

And due to the steepness of their ramp that leads to the valet parking garage, im almost positive they scraped the underside of my front bumper. And I almost forgot, lol. I had some food that I wanted to warm up. So I go downstairs and ask they lady at the front desk do they have a microwave I can use. She says, "do you have a room here?" LOL. Now that's funny. I'd come back though. Probably, maybe, who knows.

Stayed here for 3 night, for my husband birthday. The hotel has a good location. 12 min walk from 5th avenue and has a view on Central Park. I rated 3 for the following reasons: room wasn't clean good( hair in the shower ) and when they came in to clean the second day the room was still not cleaned good. One of the nights we tried to fill the tub water for our little baby but the water came out yellow.

They tried to fix it but the water didn't come up clear. They were short on people and asked us to dine in. And when we insisted about not being able to dine in the room we managed to have a table in their lounge. The housekeeping department were very nice and tried there best to help. I mean other than the view and the location, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Oh and we paid 1200 per night (25-26-27 December). The breakfast was included in the price but we were charged extra almost every day even though we were eating a normal American breakfast. So don't buy breakfast, and pay on site better.bathrooms were renovated but the heavy doors between the bathroom and bedroom need some muscles to move in and out. They do offer water bottles for free unlimited but no tea or coffee in the room.

Great Hotel, great service and the food is amazing. The only problem was the way they checked your vaccine. 3 minutes for each person. The woman at the door was looking also the name of vaccine, the date and the id. It looks you were in the hospital in front of the doctor.

The team are fantastic and the views incredible but sadly this hotel has seen its best days and is now in need of refurbishment for the price it commands. In addition there is a huge issue with the restaurant and bar area which has been reduced in size and simply cannot accommodate all of the guests that wish to eat and drink there. The queue for breakfast was totally unacceptable and we ended up on three mornings going elsewhere and seeking a reimbursement from the hotel for the extra we had paid. If the Mandarin wants to remain one of the best New York has to offer the time for change is now before it's too late.

I had an issue at the restaurant and the restaurant staff was so harsh, but the head of security Dan was so nice and helpful! Hope to stay at the hotel someday too. The restaurant ran out of NY cheesecake. All of the desserts were $22 each and I specifically wanted the cheesecake, so I didn't want to order a different dessert instead for the price of $22. However, the waiter told me that the kitchen would cover any other dessert for me, and I could pick between the apple pie and chocolate mousse cake.

How nice of them! I ordered the chocolate mousse cake. The bill came and it still listed the NY cheesecake for $22. I asked again about it since I was told otherwise. They said they would double check and then told me I still need to pay since the two items were the same price. Deceptive business practices! I wouldn't pay $22 for anything other than NY cheesecake - I'm a tourist trying to experience the wonders of NYC life, and chocolate mousse cake is *not* the same as NY cheesecake.

So disappointing. They said they would check again with the manager but the bill was still unchanged. Conveniently my credit card was blocked, and the fraud department was closed. The bill was only $70 but the restaurant called the police and took my passport as collateral. It was settled the next day, but it took a lot of "I'd like to speak to the manager"-ing to speak to a different manager to get the bill corrected, since the staff was being difficult about the issue.

They kept my passport as collateral and the head of security was so nice in contrast to the restaurant staff and informed me that the police had stopped by again in the early morning and the security staff left me a note from the police. Thankful to the security staff especially Dan and the police because I didn't have a pleasant experience with the restaurant staff. Hope I can try the cheesecake one day. The Asian noodle dish I ordered was a bit too salty. I like the restaurant's vibes. There was a long wait to be seated.

We had a tea party for my sister's birthday and were given one small quarter-sized sandwich and another that was the size of the palm of your hand. We each had about 8-10 pastries. WHO EATS THAT MANY SWEETS IN ONE SETTING? Why couldn't they have given more sandwiches instead of so many sweets? If this was an option, we weren't told?

The staff was pleasant, but we will not be returning. What pisses me off the most is that whenever Americans try to bite off of the English, they always get it wrong. If this was supposed to be like an English Tea, they failed miserably! TOTALLY OVERPRICED. NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY. FOOL ME ONCE.

The hotel commands incredible views from its perch on the 35th floor of DB Center. I was impressed with the attentive service and hospitality by all staff members I interacted with. That said, 4 stars reflects the obvious price premium for a product that, while impressive, is showing its age in usage, and I don't believe is at a price point to match.

Excellent service and stay. Spent two nights, Fri-Sat to celebrate a birthday, 1st weekend staycation in 2 years due to COVID and having had a baby. We were given complimentary drinks and chocolate covered strawberries for the birthday and room service was timely. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I didn't feel like I was nickled and dimed- all part of the package.

Join the MO fans (for free) and opt for $50 restaurant credit and early check in. It walking distance to the Warf where there several dozen places dine. Definitely splurge at Del Mar. Best tapas I've ever had.

We adore the Mandarin. We've been visiting at least once a year for quite a while. My husband even proposed to me in the garden about 9 years ago. The staff is always friendly and over the top accommodating. The rooms are elegant, comfortable, and quiet. The food is top notch. We had been away for about 2 years due to covid. They have just started opening everything back up.

So there were some understandable shortcomings, like the restaurant is only open for breakfast on weekend mornings. We were a little surprised there wasn't at least a coffee table in the lobby on Monday morning. Coffee seems like an easy thing to offer, even if they are short staffed or there aren't quite as many guests as usual. The spa was amazing as usual.

We were very happy to find out the locker room had just reopened and we could take advantage of the warming pools. They also just started offering body scrubs again. I have to say there are things we certainly miss that went away quite some time ago and never returned. For one, they used to have jazz in the lounge every weekend which was amazing. Going out to a nice dinner in the city and coming back to some mellow live jazz was unique, romantic and always made for a perfect evening.

We were told they stopped the jazz because too many locals would come, and hotel guests would complain they couldn't get a table. Seems like an easy fix would be to require reservations and only have a set amount for people who are not staying in the hotel. The MO lobby bar in NYC requires reservations on weekend nights. The second, and most glaring thing missing is a nice restaurant. Cityzen was the original restaurant and had a brilliant chef. Michelin quality tasting menu before Michelin ever came to DC.

He went on to open his own restaurants, which now each have one star. Cityzen closed in 2014. so quite a while ago. We see there is a restaurant name on the awnings, but it is not open. Hopefully it opens soon, and hopefully it is top notch. The last thing I'll mention is we wish they had a better way of tracking our guest profile. They never seem to know we've been guests here so many times.

That said, once we point it out they almost always give us a little treat. On this trip they gave us some champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our anniversary. So delicious and romantic. We love the Mandarin. It is our little staycation home away from home. We look forward to visiting more for years to come!

Stayed here during the tail end of the COVID-19 restrictions. They were really organized and the staff were very attentive. Rooms are very posh compared to other budget friendly places. We really like that it's a short walk to the District Wharf and National Mall.

Let's start with all the wonderful features of this hotel! Customer Service was impeccable! I was reached via messenger in regards to my upcoming stay. I mentioned that we're staying at the hotel because of my daughter's 16th birthday. She really wanted to stay here because of the room/hotel features and also the Afternoon Tea. Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted with professionalism and warmth.

They were so helpful and willing to answer any questions, plus as an added bonus we were upgraded to a suite that overlooked the water. It was so generous of them. It made the whole experience magical! The room looked grand! As you can see the pictures. The bathroom was of spa quality, I love LOVE the huge/deep spa tub. I definitely took advantage of this feature.

The view was amazing! I sat down beside the window a couple of times and just marveled at the scenic view of DC. Also as part of being an MO Fan, they provided a complementary breakfast. We definitely enjoyed the food. The avocado toast was delicious and my daughter loved her breakfast, the Washingtonian (I believe), she enjoyed the apple smoked bacon most especially.

She said the eggs were fluffy and the pastries were fresh and delicious. The only problem we had was the Afternoon Tea, a feature that we were most interested in. The pastries were not fresh, one of them was an Apple Sauce petit pastry! Apple sauce the kind you buy from the groceries. It was unpleasant. The savory one, the bread was stale and the seafood smelled real bad (fresh fish) doesn't smell that bad. We didn't enjoy it at all, to the point that we only ate a few. We paid in total $148 for some of the things that were inedible.

**Edited - due to minor grammatical errors** What a steal, new years at a 5 star hotel on a budget. $300 a night? Foreshadowing, you may begin. For covid, the Mandarin is doing thermal imaging upon entry, front desk wipe downs per each visitor, and keyless/handless entry upon motion sensors at each door to the building (in and out). Valet - $59/night.

Gift of gloves and hand wipes to compliment the keys upon check-in. The room: king size bed, marble bathroom floors, robes, and a welcome gift of macarons. Bed quality, sheets, pillows - poor. I had to pull my sweater and pjs from the suitcase to craft make-shift pillows to achieve comfort. Furnishings - Futuristic in a vintage way. About what 1990s had in mind for luxury, not 2020 luxury.

TV - No HD quality, laggy, mildly blurry at times. The free WiFi is a bit confusing to setup as you have to join their "MO Fans" program. Don't get fooled for the prices below this text, simply choose "join MO fans" (phone number is optional). **NOTE: Upload/download speed is roughly 20mbps. It's slow, but passible if you aren't expecting more. Dinning is strictly in-room only.

While convenient and expected for my stay, not very prompt. Don't expect quick service, even if they mess up the order. It took the staff almost 45min to deliver a spoon they chose not to provide for ordering curry. The only thing I'd recommend here is the afternoon high tea from 1pm to 5pm (order an hour in advance for this option. Anything else, do uber eats, grub hub, or door dash.

The price of the meals vs the quality served is not on the same level. Think college town asian fusion. Fried rice with dry chicken (add chicken for $9) and "spicy" green curry (again, extra cost for meat) and you'll get curry that isn't spicy and has more of a soup base. The only item I can fully back on the menu, hands down - the brownies. Supposedly a set of 3, but instead was a set of 5-6. I'm also very tempted to order the cookies. but do I really want to wait another hour for a simple order of cookies. **note: don't tip; realized afterward they had included a 19% gratuity within the fine print. along with a delivery charge of ~$5, and. *raises eyebrows* a charge of $12 for china plates, and ice. wtf. 7th floor riverview - Comes complete with a view of the Pentagon, tidal basin, and some of the potomac.

Along with a lovely view of the building adjacent to you, and train tracks. If you're a light sleeper like me, you'll be hearing the trains via a low to medium rumbling through the window and walls. I really wish this was disclosed upon reservation of the room. The breakfast would've been better had we ordered from the silver diner or ihop.

Not to mention the blueberry pancakes arrived raw. Took an additional 15 minutes to get a replacement. Expect pancakes to taste like boxed brands, and juice to not be fresh squeezed. Although, I highly recommend the toast, coissants, and apricot danish - the danish, being only one, was very good. This and the pastries = best item of the whole meal.

The High tea is still fantastic, you'll find a qr code on the card that links to a spotify playlist titled 'afternoon tea'. Complimentary champaign served with the high tea was a pleasant surprise. Earl grey - especially smooth and delightful. Flowering Osmanthus - perfectly delicate in flavor and relaxing in comfort. End result, I wouldn't spend more than $300/night here. Had I spent anything more and received the same experience, I'd have cut my staycation short and gone home early.

If you want a 5 star hotel with a vintage 90s feeling, go to the Mandarin Oriental DC, it's the equivalent of an "Asian fusion restaurant". It wants to be something unique, but it can't quite make up it's mind, doesn't really know how to be the best, and is offensive to pretty much any asian that walks in. Will I be back? For afternoon high tea - absolutely. For the "5 star hotel experience"? Absolutely not.

Excellent stay during covid-19. We were craving a safe one night getaway with our daughter, and splurged here. Check in was swift and easy. They took our temperature and promptly got us a room key. Someone immediately saw our daughter and grabbed her a panda bear stuffed animal - so cute! The room was very spacious with gorgeous views -- spotless.

Shortly after, someone came by with the MO member surprise. two steamer containers containing fresh cookies and macaroons. lots of them! We also booked two swim sessions and had their entire heated pool to ourselves which was lovely. On one of the sessions they threw in swim toys for our kid. Throughout the hotel there were hand sanitizer stations, staff always took our temperature upon recently, and they provided small PPE packs. Very satisfied with a wonderful service and safe stay here. Ps - within short walk to artechouse for art/tech lovers looking for something to do!

My husband and a stayed here for two nights on a close-to-home babymoon, given COVID. While the service was excellent-- from the Fromt Desk to the indoor pool staff-- I'm struck that the hotel management decided to build a hotel directly next to a cargo train line (not to mention frequent helicopter noise over the Tidal Basin). The train woke me up several times each night and was still audible through earplugs. If you're anywhere close to a light sleeper, I would recommend staying elsewhere.

FACTS: On 27-29 Aug 2020, I booked a "staycation" at the M.O., and was utterly appalled at the condition of the "Premier Water View One Bedroom Suite." Original Folio Balance: $1,7661 1. Clogged Toilet 2. Dirty Linen 3. Broken Sliding Door 4. Cold Food (with a hair garnish) 5. Staff member that followed my partner (a retired military veteran and kindergarten teacher/T.F.A. alumni) to the elevators, saying, "Are you REALLY a guest here?" In an effort to prohibit YOU from making the same mistake, I've produced an expose to illustrate the shortcomings of the M.O. Unedited, real, true. https://owshowe.com/2020/10/03/__trashed/ Regardless, trust me when I say that the M.O. is NOT what is once was.

In fact, we were residents at 1331, located adjacent to the M.O. and dined at their restaurant, "Amity & Commerce" on multiple occasions. In fact, I even received a spa treatment at the M.O. during its "better" days, before the pandemic. Dusty, dirty linen? That isn't 5 star luxury. A broken toilet in the main bedroom suite? That isn't 5 star luxury.

Cold room service, despite having phoned to specifically request warm food? That isn't 5 star luxury. Ghost AmEx charges after the guest portfolio closes? That isn't 5 star luxury. Now Streaming. "Trapped Inside the Mandarin Oriental" https://owshowe.com/2020/10/03/__trashed/

I have been so sick of being restricted to the DMV due to the pandemic but I'm also deathly afraid to travel anywhere, so a staycation was the perfect solution. The Mandarin Oriental just opened up this week and I was one of the first guests to stay here since they reopened. In terms of handling the pandemic, I would definitely give them 5 stars.

They are extremely strict about face masks being worn, have PLENTY of sanitizer located all throughout the hotel and perform temperature checks every time you enter the hotel. They also have restrictions on how many people can use the pool at a time. I felt extremely safe staying here and the service was no less than 5 stars even amidst a pandemic.

My room was perfect! Extremely clean, and ready on time! They allowed me to check out late (around 2 pm) and made sure to check up on me from time to time. They even gave me a gift (Teddi bear, baby onesie, macarons, bottle of champagne) which I was not at all expecting. They had really nice bath salts and spa items located in the bathroom in case you wanted that spa feeling!

I ordered breakfast through room service. We had the smoked salmon bagel, vegetable omelette and American breakfast. Everything was perfect! Overall, I'd definitely come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The rooms were plush and comfy unlike their bath robes. I love the MO rewards program and it's easy to join online. I called before booking and the receptionist suggested the MO program because I could get extra free additions during my stay. So i chose free parking (usually $50 a night) & late checkout. And a celebration cake for my husbands 50th Birthday.

The cake was a hit, even with the wrong holiday on top, but the hand written card was super sweet! We enjoyed the in hotel rest for a fancy breakfast and dinner and it was pretty cool to order delivery Whole Foods to our room as well. Oh and the super deep fancy bathtub A++++

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I appreciate their promotion that allows you to stay two nights and get the third night free. Then when you join the Fans of MO, you are able to get two free breakfasts (and this hotel kindly allowed you to use the offer towards offsetting the room service option). Yes, I do wish the location was a bit more central to restaurants and other attractions but the hotel room was clean.

The beds slept very well and the toiletries are high end and have a delightful fragrance. Service was exemplary. We did upgrade to a water view room which was more peek a boo as opposed to front on so if we do return on a subsequent trip would most probably not spend the additional nightly cost.

Love coming to their lobby bar and their Asian fusion restaurant. Inventive cocktails and top notch service, no matter the time of the day. Used to come here often for after work drinks, a coffee break or a sumptuous lunch when I worked in DC full time. Now I go back whenever I have a conference there. Quick service too given the complexity of some dishes. Example: one day I came in around 1 p.m. and by 1:24 I was already halfway through my lobster pappardelle and had finished my double espresso latte. It's a beautiful hotel and relatively close to the new Southwest Wharf district, although quite a bit of a walk there (it's closer to the Smithsonian & L'enfant metro stations - yet, still a bit over 15 minutes to either one). Definitely not the best location for an upscale DC hotel, so that's why I'm knocking off one star.
