The Lord bute was an absolutely amazing hotel. The staff were amazing and the owners should be so proud of them. I have never experienced such a beautiful hotel as this with the service and staff being so hard working, friendly and attentive. The food was incredidble. I would recommend this unique hotel in a heartbeat WELL DONE xxx

We had a really lovely afternoon tea today. The food was fresh, with a good selection and lots of it. We ended up taking some home. The service was what made it so nice for us. The staff made us feel really welcome, taking time to chat to us and the kids, which was so nice. I would definitely come again, maybe for dinner next time.

My girlfriend and I decided to take in the Jurassic Coast on a weekend excursion from London, so we elected to book a one night stay at The Lord Bute Hotel, and are so glad we did as we had a wonderful experience. The hotel location was perfect given the fact that we wanted to take in as many castles and tourist attractions as possible. Given the fact that this hotel is down the road from Highcliffe Castle made it all the more organic.
Staff was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Being vegan my girlfriend and I, sadly more often than not, have great difficulty being adequately accommodated for a hotel's inclusive breakfast, but thankfully such was not our experience at Lord Bute! They had many delicious vegan options and substitutions that not only allowed us to partake of the included breakfast, but to have a truly enjoyable dining experience throughout. Bravo, Lord Bute, please don't change as the hospitality industry needs you!

Not sure how this has kept its 5* Gold Award from AA - perhaps they haven't inspected it since before the 1st lockdown but rooms tired, bathroom flooded when we used the shower, shower leaked badly from wrong end, sink hot tap loose so when you turned it off it turned on again(!) and dust abover shoulder height incredible (eg on light fitting). Would not recommend staying here if you expecting 5* accommodation.

We stayed at the Lord Bute for a friend's wedding and the service was amazing. The hotel rooms were great, plenty of space to get ready, really close to the wedding venue, good parking spaces and the staff we're extremely helpful in making sure we had everything we needed on the wedding day. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you're in the area!

Very nice place but quite busy! Delicious food and perfectly presented. My family and I went there three days ago to celebrate my Great Aunt's birthday. She is 103 years old! I give 4 1/2 stars. Everything was done brilliantly and we really enjoyed our time there. But the staff seemed stressed and were rushing around which made everything intense. There were lots of people there so I do understand why they were stress. Fab place! Check it out if you can.

We held a rather un-christmassy Christmas do here. No decorations to speak of, no Christmas tree, no crackers on the table. The food was reasonable (although the turkey was thinly sliced from a packet it seemed), and staff very friendly and accommodating, but not really a Christmas party as advertised and not really worth the price paid.

To start, the Lord Bute is not a five star hotel, it's a five star GUEST accomodation, which is very different. Looking up the requirements for star ratings, this is the equivalent of a TWO star hotel! Very very misleading, on Google and and hotel booking pages is listed as a Five star luxury hotel. Not sure where the luxury part comes in either, as our room was very small and dated.
The bed and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. I ended up using a folded up jumper to sleep on. My wife and I were so disappointed as we had Two nights here. Avoid room 109 If you can, as this must be above a generator or something, very loud hum non stop. The restaurant is a two AA Rosette, so we were looking forward to trying this for breakfast.
The choice was a full English or cereal. We asked for a vegetarian breakfast and that consisted of the full English with the meat removed leaving a plate of beans, egg and mushrooms. No meat replacements or other hot options on the menu. Again looking up the requirements for a rosette award this didn't even make one. On a positive, the evening meal staff were brilliant, they were very efficient, friendly and attentive.
The evening meal was good for the meat eaters, the vegetarians not so much. There is a very nice pub/restaurant right next door that does lunch and evening menus, where we ended up going. It's concerning that a company can intentionally mislead people with false advertising and be allowed to get away with it. If you're looking for a 5* luxury hotel this isn't for you. But if you're looking for a 2* hotel at 5* star prices then this is the place for you.

Lovely looking place outside and in. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. Air con. TV. Nice bathroom, although the bathroom was constantly really hot. But we couldn't figure out why, as the towel rail wasn't on! Despite them hosting a wedding that day, we found the place a bit dead. The breakfast was plentiful and of a good standard.
