Great stay with wonderful staff and excellent food in the Bo and Muc restaurant. We stayed in the stables in room 29, it was well furnished and welcoming as we had a small dog. The downside was for soundproofing is probably the worst I have experienced anywhere. You can hear every footstep upstairs and people talking next door to you. The shared front door doesn't help either with voices in the patio coming right into the bedroom. It is really disappointing for a 200 a room. This was the only thing that let down a wonderful stay in a great hotel.

Lovely location and beautiful room but The Torridon lacked the attention to detail and superior service promised, so we were a little disappointed with the experience, perhaps we expected too much after our outstanding stay at the Summer Bay Hotel also on the 500 mile route. Sadly the Bo and Muk restaurant experience was very poor - certainly not in keeping with a 5 star hotel.

Lovely hotel Staff attentive Restaurant expensive and actually overpriced in my opinion. Bo and muc better value but less care with food. Served with wilting salad Activity team were excellent. Especially the kayaking Some of the staff seemed a bit abrupt. Better food presentation and a more cheerful and helpful disposition and it would get a five

Birthday treat pre-Christmas to stay at the Torridon. The hotel is exceptional, our room was one of the best I have ever stated in and the location was just stunning. The only niggle we had was the food - dinner in the main restaurant was slightly disappointing, especially when my husband's fish course was stone cold on our first evening. Given the price, this just shouldn't happen.
The staff handled well but it did detract from our overall enjoyment. Highlight was the whisky bar and loved coming back in to open fires throughout the hotel. A special place.

We stayed here for two nights departing on Christmas eve. I honestly have to say that you can't fault the Hotel, it's very luxurious and extremely comfortable - but the food was just one huge disappointment from start to finish. Pretty much every "hot" dish was served luke warm, verging on cold. Our first evening dinner I had to send my second course back and it returned not much better.
The second evening my third course went back to the kitchen luke-warm(ish). The waiting staff were extremely apologetic but I was fed-up with disappointment after disappointment. Even explaining on the second evening that I had a real issue with what was going on in the kitchen with food temperature.but things didn't really improve. They have wonderful Highland Cattle on site but not a single piece of beef was to be found on the menu.
As the saying goes, if you want to eat well here - have breakfast three times a day. In order to seemingly do justice to the location (and pricing) it just came across as a half-hearted effort in The Torridon trying to execute 'fine-dining' with not much care or attention as to what was actually leaving the kitchen - hugely disappointing to the point of the head chef almost coming across as incompetent. Such a shame. It could be so much better.

Fell short of expectations. Booked four nights in the Torridon Suite for our anniversary. Had two consecutive nights in the Bo & Muc and then two consecutive nights in 1887. In the restaurant, we had missing courses that other tables had, along with tables coming in considerably after us and being served before us. Not asking for special treatment, just the service you expect from a high end hotel and restaurant, along with the experience the other diners had.
The poor treatment and the fact that we had to chase up on a response from our complaint, resulted in us cancelling our remaining nights and leaving the hotel on the day of our anniversary instead of enjoying the experience. Sadly, the fact that the Manager did not feel that a customer leaving warranted a conversation in person and rather hiding behind other staff to deliver the options was disappointing, but sealed the deal of leaving.
It is a shame, because the night before we were looking at booking the Christmas experience for 2023. Treated like a number and felt like a number. Advise, is lower your expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Would give a 5* review, except we can hear the toilet flushing in room above(in room 28 in The Stables), as well as footsteps above us all night. Family possibly had a child or dog, and we were permanently awake from 4-7am. Raised the issue with staff, but nothing could be done. Despite this, I would 100% return. Staff were good, really friendly and accommodating, location is breathtaking, whisky bar is reasonably priced, and excellent selection.everything about this place is quality, but we will only stay in main hotel, not the stables.
They need better sound insulation in the ceiling - I don't want to hear people flushing if I'm in a 150 a night room. You wouldn't get that in a premier inn. The bed was super hard too, which was a shame. Overall, I would still highly recommend, but the Stables rooms need a few tweaks. The food was good, not great, but we were told the main restaurant was closed due to COVID issues, only to notice when we got there that it was open?! Despite all these issues, I'm still impressed by the overall feel, and would still go back.

Visited the Bo and Muc Restaurant that is part of the hotel. The food was absolutely stunning: great quality and flavour. I had the burger and it was one of the best burgers I have had. The meat was succulent, juicy, flavoursome and well-cooked. Coupled with the Isle of Mull cheddar it was honestly braw.

Amazing little gem of a hotel nestled in the mountains and next to the lock, staff are amazing and will do anthing for you. Loved our break there andnwikl certainly be back. Hire of the Morgan is an added extra but worth it. They have have some nice walks and cycling routes which aren't too difficult, well worth a visit to the area. Highly recommend it.

A stunning location. We had an afternoon tea here and it was amazing. A range of tea to choose from and a delicious selection of sweet and savoury items. We then went for a walk on one of the trails around the grounds which had great views over the loch. Hopefully we will go back to stay in the future and I would love to try the restaurant too. Would definitely recommend.

Wtf amazing! We had originally booked the inn next-door, but once we saw the hotel we booked the last room in the hotel. Wow, absolutely the coolest place we've ever been. We were doing the north 500 and this was definitely the most worth it place to stop. The mealwas ridiculously five star and the service was the best it could've possibly been.
We will definitely be making the trip halfway across the world to come back to this magnificent place. Will definitely recommend this to all of our American friends and family.

A superlative place for a quiet, romantic getaway. The staff are friendly, the selection of whiskies and gins is unbelievable (300 malts & 50 gins), and the hotel and grounds are gorgeous. We ate three nights in the hotel's dining room, and each was a splendid affair. Old-school service (amuse-bouche in the drawing room before "going through" to the dining room, and an ever-changing array of delightful dishes.
We enjoyed local beef, venison, salmon, and some delectable desserts. Chef was very warm, and always came out at the end of dinner service to say hello and chat about the meal. There are dozens of activities to participate in courtesy of the hotel and surroundings. We took advantage of the landscape, and did two beautiful hikes along the lochs, and partway up one of the nearby mountains.
