Crystal House is a small independent, family run, boutique styled establishment, set in the Scottish Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer and nestled within the magnificent Highland scenery. Crystal House takes its name from the many large veins of clear quartz crystal that run through the granite stone blocks which are very traditional building material for the Highlands of Scotland.Each room is themed on a specific crystal for colour and healing properties. This very charming Victorian house was built in 1885 and sits in an elevated position overlooking the spa village.

All of our rooms are individually and thoughtfully themed blending the best of the Victorian era with modern day comforts. Our superior double deluxe and superior double rooms enjoy fantastic views across Strathpeffer village square, open countryside and woodlands. They are the largest rooms and are highly recommended, all have places to relax in comfort.
Our restaurant is set within the Apatite Suite, one of the grand front rooms of the building. The wood panelled bay window and traditional decor add to the dining experience. It is open to both residents and non-residents. You can also dine informally in the Jade Lounge bar which has fine views from the large original south facing sash windows.
The Richmond provides an elegant and charming setting for corporate events such as conferences/meetings, Team Building Challenges and Company away days. We are able to provide bespoke packages to suit your needs from half day events to long weekends. January - Strathpuffer 24 - A challenging 24 hour endurance mountain bike event held in January.

The proprietor was very welcoming. He made us a special Mauritian dinner. During dinner, he was happy to sit with us and answer questions about the area and just generally chat. The location was quite cozy. The only problem was the bed, which was a bit hard. Then again, I was in a bunk bed, so maybe not the most representative sample. Either way, it wasn't enough to affect my sleep.

Crystal House is a fantastic place for a meal, or a drink or music event. I've previously stayed here overnight, and the owners looked after us wonderfully. The monthly open mic on the first Saturday of every month is a welcoming friendly music event, a place for musicians to showcase new stuff or newbies to try performing for the first time in public.
