Decent hotel in an old Manor House type building, just off the main road and walking distance to the Lochs. The staff were friendly, parking easy and views from the grounds very attractive. The room was recently refurbished and very comfortable, interesting decor in the lobby felt like something out of an old movie. If you are travelling the NC500 in either direction this makes for a great place to stop as it's right at a junction between major roads and minor roads and has the Midge Bite Cafe near by to pick up breakfast/lunch from on your way out the next day. In winter especially it's a wonderful refuge from the cold and snow of the highlands.

Very quiet as the hotel and bar next door is closed. But the bunkhouse rooms are very basic with comfortable clean beds, there's a good kitchen with cooker, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is only 1 toilet/ bathroom which was very busy in the morning. Overall it was very clean and I had a comfortable stay.

Beautiful old building set in stunning surroundings. we met Craig who seemed to be the only staff working at the time between reception and bar maybe even restaurant by the looks of it, great guy and more than welcoming, he gave us plenty of history on the place and surrounding areas. Huge thumbs up But theres something very odd about this place. The decor is mix and matched from what looks like people's second hand cast offs or market finds, glittery glad coasters and fake marble tables with chrome effect legs and then on the flip side beautiful original fireplaces and carpentry. Then.
What looks like old pub furniture and cabinets full of second hand watches and jewellery for sale, presented quite strangely too. I've left the pictures of these out as to not tarnish a local business to me but the decor is in serious need of attention, not quite sure what the owners are thinking, it's like walking into a jumble sale. With a bit of work it could be utterly beautiful.
