Birthday/ Fathers day present. Lovely room, nice and near the town centre. Enjoyed the stay

A very warm welcome and amazing breakfast at the townhouse. The disappointing part is not the fault of the staff. Unfortunately the rooms have extremely thin walls and after a sleepless first night I left the second night and drove home. There wasn't a single thing that could have been done about this other than calling the oit of hours number which felt a tad dramatic, but I wonder if there could be a "lights out" respectful close from guests, and not drunken singing and loud chatter into the early hours. I'd not hesitate to recommend this venue for a stay close to Ambleside shops and cafes with plenty of activities and things to do in and around Windermere/Waterhead.

Lovely place to make your base to explore from. Good hearty breakfast and comfortable bed, sets you up for the day ahead. In easy reach of all the pub's and restaurants of Ambleside.

Ideally located within walking distance of the main thoroughfare of Ambleside. The Ambleside Townhouse is comfortable with a friendly service received throughout. Breakfast is served in a relaxed environment with modern decor and colour scheme. Room 1 is located at the top of the stairs which was a little noisy and there was the sound of a generator outside. However, the rooms were comfortable and warm with adequate lighting and ventilation when required. The shower was strong and the bathroom was big enough.

Excellent location with a short walk into town. Rooms spotless and comfy. Breakfast exceptional and lovely friendly staff. Would recommend!

As soon as you walk in thru the front door, you just know you're in for a treat. We've just had a three night stay, so to sum up, our room was just great, clean bright and large, plenty of power sockets, comfy large bed. Very friendly & helpful staff. The breakfast was a delight. We're ready to book again

Friendly staff really sell this traditional bnb. Andrew and Jo are always on the go and do everything to make you stay better. Breakfast was delightful. Perfect portions and local produce. Room was basic but clean. We will be back again!

This hotel was Great. Fab location, just on the edge of the town, easy access to Ambleside and all the shops, bars, restaurants etc. It was beautiful inside, very bright and clean. We stayed in Room 1, it was lovely, very comfortable with a great view. The breakfast was fantastic, and always very hot. There was a young lady called Joanna who was always on shift, she was very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and she was very professional. Really enjoyed our stay. We shall definitely stay here again.

We had the superior room which was tidy and comfortable. Sufficient power points for those phone chargers although some were not easy to use! Wardrobe, dressing table with big mirror and additional seating. Clean hotel and nicely located in Ambleside. You are a short walking distance from the town centre and all the pubs and restaurants on offer. Breakfast was super and copious.

If the weather is good there is an outdoor space to relax in. The coastal walk from the back of the hotel is a good one to do, but wear good sturdy footwear. And in my humble opinion the beech is a must. For you morning runners and swimmers get down to the beech you won't be disappointed.
