Lastingham Grange The Grange is stone walled and built around a courtyard. It is set, with in ten acres of well kept gardens and fields, on the edge of the moors in the historic village of Lastingham; a peaceful backwater in the heart of the National Park, where the only sound is the sound of morning birdsong. Here the road peters out and becomes a bridle path across the moors to Rosedale and afar.
Services
We will be adhering to all government guidelines and the rule of 6 or 2 households will apply indoors. We will be operating table service only and would ask that guests respect that at all times. We go out of our way to source food from quality local suppliers, most of our food comes from within a 30 mile radius.

Faultless service and extremely well organised. I felt like a princess! The staff were so friendly, polite and keen to go the extra mile. I travel alot and this place has by far THE BEST service. The rooms were beautiful, I was staying on my own for a break and I couldn't have been happier. A beautiful location, exquisite food and service and beautiful rooms! You have to visit it yourself to really know what I'm talking about. I will certainly be booking in another visit.

We booked afternoon tea only the day before and I was surprised when we managed to get booked in. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by reception and they confirmed our booking. We were then shown through and given the option of the lounge or the terrace. As it had finally stopped raining first time all day we opted for the terrace. We were given plenty of time to decide what afternoon tea we wanted from the vast selection and it was soon served at the table all except the scones which were in the oven and were soon brought out afterwards.

The quality of the food and the service was excellent we offered more tea on at least 2 occasions which in my mind is great. Overall very pleased with the whole package and as it was also my wife's birthday today I earned some brownie points.

Quintessential English countryside hotel and restaurant with delicious food and helpful friendly staff. Eat inside or al fresco overlooking the gardens. Will come here again and again.

Excellent place to relax and recharge your batteries. Its like a step back in time. Attentive courtesy service all delivered with a smile. Rooms comfortable and spacious, but can be a bit dated. Food generally top notch. Nothing fancy flavour wise but consistently tasty and plentiful. Excellent choice at breakfast and lovely afternoon tea either on the terrace or in front of a roaring open fire.

One gripe, more imagination needed with the potatoes (and vegetables) at the evening meal. They are always just boiled! Overall a gem of a hotel well run by the family who have owned it for many years. There is a faithful clientele who return time and time again. Including us!

I've been here twice for lunch and enjoyed it. It's very posh, but in a friendly classic British upper class kind of way, not in a snooty way at all. The food is very nice and not expensive. If you can come in the summer the rose garden is perfect to sit in. The village has one other pub and and an interesting church to look at but not much else. The surrounding Moors are the best in the country if heather moorland is your thing. I would love to come back and stay here sometime.

I dined at the restaurant and had coffee on the terrace, which gives on to the garden. The hotel and grounds are absolutely lovely and the service was fantastic. However, the food was really subpar, price notwithstanding. I'd visit again but only to have sandwiches or afternoon tea on the terrace.
